Future Plans

Lying on the bed, Damon took a deep breath and calmed his mind.

After sorting through his thoughts, Damon finally felt calm and began to contemplate his future.

First of all, he had already accepted this world as his reality. He didn't want to go around fussing about whether this world was fictional or not.

This world was now his reality, and if he died this time, he didn't know whether he would get another chance. So, it was better to accept this world as reality instead of complaining about it.

This didn't seem to be a problem, and Damon quickly adapted to this world. He was now pondering about the future course of action.

In the history of this world, animals and humans evolved alongside each other. Every animal gained the ability to absorb the spirit energy of the surroundings and evolved into magical beasts, capable of controlling supernatural phenomena and threatening the lives of humans who had fallen to the bottom of the food chain.

The humans had to live in hiding and couldn't fight back against the beasts until the warriors were born. These humans had the ability to absorb the spirit energy from the surroundings, much like the beasts, but to a lesser extent. They were able to gain supernatural powers and fight against the beasts, eventually creating their own colonies that over the years had turned into a fully-fledged modern civilization, no less advanced than that of Earth.

To become a warrior, one had to be an offspring of a warrior and belong to the lineage of warriors. They were treated as the guardians of humanity and the true power holders in the world who ruled over the normal humans.

In this world, the only path to success was becoming a warrior, and not just any warrior but a strong one to achieve greater accomplishments.

Damon's parents were warriors, and he also had the potential to become one. However, he had yet to embark on the path of becoming a warrior due to the rules of the world and the government, which prohibited anyone below the age of sixteen from doing so. They had to attend specialized academies that focused on studying the supernatural world.

Recalling the world structure of the novel and the memories of the previous one, Damon had a pensive look on his face as he contemplated the subject of warriors.

"I'm currently fifteen years old... and since both Alex and I are the same age and meet at the academy when we are sixteen years old... the story has just started."

The plot of the novel started when Alex was fifteen years old and got transmigrated to this parallel universe, starting his legend.

There are various events that occur in the novel before he turns sixteen and attends the most prestigious academy in the world alongside the main cast and Damon.

Damon and Alex were currently living in different regions, and the plot wouldn't affect Damon for now. But what about the future?

"I wonder if I should even bother going to that academy? But I think it's too late for me to decide."

According to the memories of the previous Damon, he had already been contacted by the people of the Black Church and had accepted their offer to join them.

The Black Church is a notorious organization whose goal is to spread its influence throughout the world and perform terrorist activities for their benefit.

Their influence is similar to that of the top forces on the whole planet, and there's no way out of the Black Church for Damon.

As a member of the Black Church, Damon is asked to live as a civilian and perform the duties assigned to him by the higher-ups. The first task given to Damon was to study hard and get recruited by the most prestigious warrior academy to act as a spy.

"Oh, fuck..."

Being a part of the Black Church, Damon would undoubtedly be hunted down by others if news about him leaks out, which would be troublesome.

He can't even leave the organisation because of its influence and how powerful the organisation is. If he does plans on betraying the Church he would be hunted down by the veteran forces of the church. and would be executed.

He can't leave this organisation and being a part of this would be troublesome.. but then also being a part of Church is also a blessing for him.

Currently, Damon is just an orphan in this world with a little bit of talent and no financial support or contacts. This would make his progress harder in the future, and he would need to join powerful forces and serve them for his entire life to benefit, no matter how strong he becomes.

Even with knowledge of the future, he would still need a lot of resources and security from forces similar to the Black Church. There is no shortage of organizations like it, which would make Damon's life difficult. However, with the help of the Black Church, he can obtain the security and channels he needs, and their support can accelerate Damon's progress.

So, for now, it is better for Damon to be a part of the Black Church.

"Knowing the future of the world, I don't think I would have any problem becoming successful. Though this may sound a bit arrogant, if I can play my cards right, I'm sure to achieve what I want. But... I would have to deal with Alex for sure in the future."

In the letter from the author, it was mentioned that destiny would play its part, and Damon and Alex would stand opposite each other because of Damon's status as the villain in this world.

Even if Damon wants to establish a good relationship with Alex and the main cast, it would surely be in vain. So it is better for Damon to give up on the thought of befriending the protagonist and others.

Being in the world of the novel and knowing the troublesome plots, it would be safer for Damon to not get too close to the main cast. However, wouldn't it be extremely foolish?

The plot includes knowledge about different overpowered cheats used by the main cast. So it would be foolish not to take advantage of them and acquire those cheats for himself to boost his strength.

Many would think of this as an idiotic thing because it would threaten the world and make the protagonist weaker than he was supposed to be. It would cause a massive butterfly effect, rendering Damon's knowledge about the future useless.

"I have already transmigrated into this world and know that my mere existence is enough to cause a really big butterfly effect, messing up the plot. So wouldn't it be better to take up the cheats introduced in the novel and use my knowledge to its fullest instead of worrying about the plot and regretting it when this knowledge becomes useless?"

Though this is the primary reason for Damon to choose this path, there are more reasons for him.

First, he wants to make himself stronger while decreasing Alex's strength. If Alex and Damon have to stand against each other, it's better for Damon to have all the advantages he can before Alex grows strong enough to kill him.

This may change the storyline significantly and allow the threats that Alex deals with in the novel to succeed in their goals, causing troubles for Damon later on. But Damon is sure that in the future, he can deal with those threats by himself and even take on the role of Alex if necessary.

Damon recalled the contents of the novels, important events, and what the previous owner knows about this world. He formulated a plan for his future before remembering something important and speaking.
