Invaded Part-1

"Bang!, Bang!, Boom!"

Chase and Ava were abruptly jolted awake by a loud explosion that shook the ground beneath them. Startled and still unclothed, they sprang out of bed.

"What the hell is going on?" Chase exclaimed, trying to comprehend the chaos unfolding around them.

Ava swiftly grabbed her dress and tossed Chase his suit. "Chase, hurry and put your clothes on!"

"Chase!" Alex's voice called out, sounding urgent.

"Sounded like Alex," Chase remarked, rushing to get dressed.

"Quickly!" Ava urged.

Dressed and ready, they opened the door to find an anxious-looking Alex standing there.

Seeing Chase and Ava together, he eyed them suspiciously but didn't have time for questions. "The kingdom is under attack!" he shouted over the continuing explosions.

"What? How?" Chase was taken aback by the sudden assault on the kingdom.

Alex glanced at Ava. "We checked the tunnel, and the Green Griffin used it to enter the city from below."

"So, Ava, you were right. The tunnel had a use," Chase complimented her skills.

Ava looked into the distance, seeing multiple houses on fire and dark black smoke filling the air. "Yeah, but it's already too late," she said regretfully for not acting sooner.

"Don't be discouraged. With your help, we've found the traitor," Alex said, trying to lift their spirits.

Curious, Chase and Ava asked in unison, "Who?"

"It's Benson," Alex revealed, shocking Ava.

"That traitor! I always knew something was off about him," Chase said annoyed at not having noticed earlier.

"Did you at least capture him?" Ava asked with hope that the king could find out why he turned traitor.

"No," Alex replied in disappointment.

"Boom!"

Another explosion shook the ground, prompting them to take immediate action. "We have to move!" Alex urged.

"Where's Luke?" Chase wondered, as their ally usually appeared unexpectedly.

"I don't know," Alex said after checking his house without finding him.

"Did you receive any orders from Freya or the king?" Ava asked, hoping they had a plan in place to defend the kingdom.

"Yes, for now, we just have to protect the kingdom and save the citizens," Alex replied, conveying Freya's orders.

Chase grabbed his spear, and Alex handed Ava her chained axes. "Where are we heading?" Chase inquired.

"West. That's where the explosions started. We should hurry," Alex directed.

Chase and Ava nodded, and they left the house to witness the kingdom in chaos, Fires blazed everywhere, engulfing buildings, noble houses and sending up billowing clouds of black smoke, into the dark starry sky.

"We really need to move fast," Ava said urgently as the fire continued to spread.

Chase, Ava, and Alex started sprinting toward the west, where it has more buildings on fire the black smoke was like a beast, looking down on humans, if you look long enough maybe you will see one.

"While we are saving the citizen the water mages will start outing the fire!"Alex said out loud.

They sprinted westward, but suddenly, Chase heard a noise above him and looked up to see a massive fireball hurtling down. Without hesitation, he subconsciously pushed Ava and Alex forward with all his strength sending them flying, to protect them.

"Boom!"

The fireball landed exactly where Chase had been standing moments ago.

Ava and Alex rolled on the ground as she instantly got back up, looking behind her, looking at the bright sea of fire.

"Chase!" she called worriedly, running toward the fire.

"Ava!" Alex shouted, concerned for her safety.

"Chase!" she shouted again seeing as the fire started to get bigger.

Alex held her back, saying, "Ava, we have to leave now." in a sad tone, he may have been a rival to Chase but they did spend a lot of time together growing.

"We can't! We have to find him!" Ava struggled to break free, but Alex's strength overpowered her.

"Ava, he's likely dead," Alex declared firmly.

Crystal tears streamed down Ava's cheeks. "No, he can't be dead!" she protested, refusing to accept that possibility.

"Even if he's not dead, how can you save him if the kingdom gets burned down?" Alex pointed out.

Ava stopped struggling and fell to her knees, realizing Alex was right. If the kingdom fell, she wouldn't be able to find Chase.

Alex helped her up and urged, "Now get up, let's go."

With determination, Ava rose to her feet and ran westward with Alex, looking back at the fire reflected in her eyes and all the memories of Chase they had shared together, She vowed to find Chase, alive or if he was dead she swore she will avenge him.

The city's streets were engulfed in flames, and the flickering firelight cast eerie shadows on the charred walls, suddenly a large fireball shoot down toward Ava and Alex, using her axes she swung, at the fireball destroying it from the chained axe protection enchantment.

Ava and Alex looked around, spotting multiple green griffin mages, on the rooftops, their staffs glowing mana about to attack, suddenly knight also appeared on the ground, Ava and Chase, went back to back, "Split up, I focus on the knight and you mages" he said, they both nodded, running separate ways.

Two green griffin knights ran at Chase, going to the side he slash one knight's head off, backed away from the other knight, sidestepped, slashed the knight's hand off then their head, and multiple more knights rushed up.

"Give up, we already have hundreds of knights and mages inside the kingdom, "One knight said arrogantly.

"You are really arrogant for some dead knights," Alex said back taunting the knights.

One trusted at Alex, tripping the knight, he quickly sliced the knight's head off, he bent down dodging another knight's sword, he moved up like a snake, as he sliced the knight's throw, Alex continued fighting with knights, spark flying through the air, metal clanking sounding through, the street.

The mages watched Ava from the rooftops, their staffs, glowing with mana as they channeled a fire, sent forth scorching fireballs, that burst around Ava, forcing her to evade and weave through the swirling heat, utilizing her agility to slip past the flames and retaliate with swift, she Ava threw her axe at the mages connecting with one pulling them off the rooftop slamming into the ground instantly dead.

Suddenly another fireball came at Ava, easily dodged it,'I need to get closer' she thought, as he noticed half a building wall was destroyed, dashing toward the wall, using the force in her legs she jump flying gracefully like an eagle, landing on the rooftop.

The mages turned to Ava in fright"Quickly kill her", Ava grabbed her axes she swiftly and gracefully like a snake moving, passed through at the mages slicing all their head off with hatred in her attacks, before there could attack there were already dead heads flying into the air. Ava's avenged gracefully off the building landing near Alex, who just finished of his last knight.

Alex signals Ava with his head"Lets go"
