The Caretaker, Wang Yulan

For the briefest of moments, silence permeated the interior of Alucard's Lamborghini.

'W-What?' The Count didn't expect this proposition at all. To be fair, he thought she'd be asking to lend her the Lamborghini for a while... or something else for that matter.

But never a marriage proposal!

'Girl, we've known each other only for a few hours!'

Within Lin Ruoxi's mind, however, the landscape was totally different!

She had been having that idea for a while, have someone pose as her husband so that those useless proposals would stop coming her way. But... there was never a perfect candidate. But now!

Vlad was intelligent and successful, she felt comfortable with him, he had a lot of money and was a businessman just like her... what else was there to ask for!?

But it was then that she realised, he was not a common man, probably having lived all his life in luxury, would he have a shortage of suitors? Surely not.

This also came in too suddenly, they had only known each other for some hours... Lin Ruoxi slowly started to realise the weight of the words she just said! Her face flushed in embarrassment but she also wanted to give it a try, what if he said yes?

Whenever she saw his eyes, she believed strongly that maybe just perhaps, it wouldn't be a fake marriage...

She was about to explain everything better, and tell him to think about it when her eyes suddenly opened wide and her body started to shake!

Alucard who was still thinking things deeply, what kind of importance something like marriage had for him, noticed how she started shaking and behaving strangely.

"Ruoxi, are you okay?" He asked with furrowed brows.

The Ice Queen paid no heed as her body continued to shake, and unbeknownst to Alucard, her eyes started to flicker! Between brown and golden!

A battle was currently going on in her mind, she wanted to stay but... 'No! Leave, it is not supposed to be him!' A deep voice resounded in her mind that subverted her will!

Lin Ruoxi's heart started to palpitate faster as she made her move.

"P-Please, forget what I said! I have to go now!" Without delay, she opened the door of the car and tried to leave!

"Ruoxi!?" Alucard shouted in bewilderment, not understanding her weird behaviour at all!

But the beautiful CEO would not turn around, as fast as lightning she got in her Bentley and started it!

*BROOM!!*

Without exchanging so much as a glance with him, her car roared as she accelerated, her destiny unknown to him.

'Should I follow her?' Alucard wondered, with how frantic she looked, what if she suffers an accident? but decided against it, he stayed in his car and sensed how she cried while driving away, she left his ten kilometres perimeter and he saw she seemed okay wherever she was going.

He sighed, even then... His mind wasn't clear of worries.

'Why am I even worrying about that girl?' They were supposed to have met only for a few hours, but she had something... Something that attracted him. Like some kind of weird aura she had around her, but he wasn't sure as surprisingly he hadn't sensed anything like that before.

Sensing around, there were only three people nearby, not a single one of them paying attention to him. No cameras his way.

As such, his shadow extended and swallowed his car together with him right where he was.

He followed after her, incorporeal until he sensed her safely arrive at her apparent home.

Only then did he leave for Catherine's place.

Half an hour later, Lin Ruoxi parked her car inside the garage of her villa, where another dozen cars were parked.

Her mind was still in deep thought, conflicts and feelings, what happened to her? Why did she leave just like that? It was like an impulse, something telling her to get away from Vlad.

Walking inside her villa, deep into her own thoughts, a familiar and worried voice rang from beside her ears.

"Young miss!"

Rushing from the kitchen a woman in her older years with casual attire and an apron approached her with a worried countenance.

"Wang Ma, I'm alright, there is no need to worry... Where is he?" Ruoxi sat on the family table rubbing her nose, placing the whole situation with that man in the back of her head for now.

"He left."

The woman, Wang Yulan, or Wang Ma as Ruoxi called her, could notice the purple eye bags underneath the girl's eyes.

She slowly approached her and gave her a comforting hug, why did he miss having to go through all of this?

Ruoxi closed her eyes and reciprocated the hug, "I told you I'm alright Wang Ma, I- I met someone on the way, and that person helped me."

"Huh? Young Miss, you- you met someone this late?" The woman asked with apprehension, it can't be... it's not possible this Ice Queen actually met a man, right?!

"It was someone that saw me crying and decided to help me, Wang Ma." Her lips curled when she remembered Vlad, meeting each other in front of the traffic lights, she didn't know if that was a very romantic meeting or a very dull one.

"Is it a man?" She asked just to be sure.

"Yes, he's Vlad Tepes, the man I've been talking to you about, I managed to meet him out of nowhere today. I even showed him my most embarrassing side, so shameful!" She hugged her tighter with a blush, but still, the memories of Vlad not giving it importance and instead, laughed together with her, resonated in her heart with warmth.

"Oh? 'The 'King of Zhonghai'... to think someone would name their child that way... what shameful thing did you show him?" The caretaker asked with some concern, 'Don't tell me he caught you red-handed in the toilet...'

"He saw me crying Wang Ma! And with food on my cheeks!" The girl got even more flustered just with the thought alone, and Wang Ma couldn't help but release a sigh as her eyes twitched, 'Is that what you're worried about!?'

"You can't trust men that lightly young miss, specially such businessmen cunning people like him! His name by itself says it all!" The woman didn't believe 'The King' as the media called him, one bit, 'He only wants to get in your skirt, young miss!' She wanted to say.

But seeing the girl's flustered expression, she didn't dare to. She had known her ever since she was born, and this was the first time the girl was so thrilled over someone of the opposite sex!

"Don't judge him so quickly Wang Ma, he's very cute~, imagine, he didn't even have a phone, what a klutz!" The beautiful girl giggled with a smile that sent all the wrong signals to Wang Ma, 'God... if she's not there yet, she's definitely at the border' but then couldn't help but smile softly

"Uh, hu~ and what else did you find about him Young Miss?~" Just seeing her young miss this happy, was enough to make her day.

"He- he had pink eyes!" Never in her life did she see someone with pink eyes, moreover they were slit! he surely liked to get into his Count Dracula persona, to even go as far as to wear contact lenses, 'Cute~' he reminded her of the male protagonists in the Korean Dramas she loved, but real and palpable.

If the count heard her call him cute so many times, he might slap her right there...

"Pink eyes, are you sure he's not wearing contact lenses, young miss?! And about not having a phone, even a grandma such as myself has one! It's a trap!"

The two kept bantering for a long time, it had been a long time since the two had a heart-to-heart like this, Ruoxi would usually just bottle everything within herself. The young adult then ended up watching her dramas in a very happy mood, comparing Vlad with all the male characters she saw, with the Chairman winning by a wide range.

She went to sleep late, thinking about Vlad the entire time, not even bothering she had to be back in her office early the next day and as she fell asleep a smile marred her face the entire time, eagerly awaiting the next time they would encounter each other.

But unbeknownst to her, a few hours after falling asleep, her eyes opened slowly, flickering with a golden light!
