An Eager Participant

Bliss didn't look back as she ran down the stairs to the second floor where the participants' rooms were located. Whew..I thought Luka was scary! His brother makes him look like a pussycat! If I stayed in that room with that chilling devil a moment longer I would turn into an ice sculpture.

Nervously opening the door Bliss quickly locked it wishing there was a deadbolt. After she locked the door she pressed her ear against it listening for any movement. Her heart stopped for a moment from fright when a voice a slight octave above hers rang out from behind her back, "What are you doing? And why are you wearing that?"

Bliss almost jumped out of her skin and whipped around. She had her hand on her chest as she leaned back against the wall, "Oh thank god, Mandy it's you."

Mandy was holding an apple in her hand with a large bite out of it. "Are we doing a lingerie shoot?

"Yeah..yeah..they should call you soon."

"I hope not, I am so tired. I feel like all my blood has been drained out of me. I want to sleep... the sleep of the dead."

Bliss'eyes widened as she rushed over and held Mandy by the chin turning her face back and forth looking for fang marks.

Mandy started laughing, "Bliss, what the hell are you doing?"

 When Bliss didn't see any fang marks she thought maybe she was overreacting. "Well,I was bitten by an annoying mosquito and wanted to make sure you weren't."

Mandy scrunched up her cute round face, "Yuck! I hate those blood suckers! Should we ask for netting for the beds?"

"No. I think it was a one-time thing. I swatted it."

"Good. I really need a nap. I don't want to be bitten while I sleep. And they are so nasty." She chomped on the apple and as she chewed she continued, "The thought of having my blood sucked...well..of course I wouldn't mind if Vampires really existed and feasted on me." Mandy giggled and her dark brown almond shaped eyes sparkled, "That is why I accepted this job, I thought at least it would be fun to play the role of a sexy Vampire's lover."

Part of me wanted to warn Mandy and tell her to be careful but I knew I would sound like a mental case. Maybe I could get some garlic from the kitchen to make us both a little necklace.

Mandy finished the apple and tossed the core, it bounced off the rim of the wastebasket and rolled. I bent over and picked it up by the stem, dropping it into the trash.

Taking a piece of tissue and wiping her fingers Mandy asked, "Could you wake me up for dinner? I guess that bitch Gwen Gowan, you know the celebrity chef, is going to cook. What do you think of her? I don't like her one little bit. She pushed me out of the way to get next to the super handsome guy, Luka."

"You think she likes him?" That would be great, let her deal with the pervert.

"Definitely, he is the most handsome of the three, although each one of them is hawtttt! Didn't you notice last night when we arrived?"

"No. I was tired because I had a commercial shoot earlier in the day."

"Right. I didn't see you all night. Well, they switched rooms so I will be sharing with you now. I guess the cold beauty, Vivienne, arrived late and insisted on her own room. I'm surprised a Supermodel of her level would join the show. I guess it was a last minute thing."

She walked to one of the beds, "Is it okay if I take this one? The other one is too close to the window. I have a thing about heights. The wall to ceiling window would be cool if there was at least a balcony or a guard, but whooo..I stood there for a minute when I came in to open the curtains and I got dizzy."

"That's fine, I don't care."

She spontaneously hugged me, "I'm so glad they put me with you! Those other girls are poisonous!"

Her adorable expression made me chuckle, she really reminded me of a girl on an anime. Ahh..to be so clueless. Those girls aren't who you should be worried about. " I am going to take a shower and change."

"I never see you wear black, the color really suits you, with your creamy white skin and long blond hair, you look really seductive and beautiful. Really a different vibe from your usual girl next door look. Too bad you are so short, if you were taller you could be a Victoria's Secret Angel."

Haha..That was a weird backhanded compliment. "Well, get some sleep."

Bliss looked in her unpacked suitcase and grabbed a pink Adidas tracksuit. I want to be comfortable, I have no intention of competing with the other participants, the sooner I get sent home the better. I didn't read the rules but with three men and five women, someone needs to be eliminated.

After plugging in her phone to the charger she went into the bathroom. Bliss felt Luka's scent on her body was like an invisible cage. I need to wash it off now. She felt trapped by his pheromones that permeated her skin every time she was close to him. The intoxicating fragrance was hard to pinpoint, woodsy...mixed with the scent of oranges...

Bliss emerged from the shower determined to get through this night if need be the weekend. I will take it one day at a time.

Checking her phone she saw several texts from Berta. Her eyes narrowed as she quickly erased them without reading. I'm not going to let that witch get into my head. Hmm..Gina texted, great she got the client to sign.

[ You are awesome!]

Gina: [Finally! I am bursting to tell you. The CEO was off the charts gorgeous]

[Calm down. What do you want to climb to a higher branch?]

Gina: [I did my best to flirt with him. After the contract was signed, of course. I am a professional. Unfortunately he said point blank he had a woman.]

[When did that stop you?]

Gina: [He seemed too sincere when he said she was perfect. True love kind of vibes.]

[Didn't you say he had a brother? Hahaha.]

Gina: [ Almost as handsome but I think gay. Where are you I want to go have drinks to celebrate my huge commission.]

[Sorry. I had to go back to the show. Long story. Call me later.]

Gina: [Now! I need details!]

[Later. I'm busy.]

Gina: [ You are no fun.]

[I know. Bye.]

Bliss smiled thinking about Gina. She could picture her switching gears after the CEO signed. From Gina Lombardi...all business to Gina the flirty girl. She can be annoying but we have been friends forever. I bet right now she is looking in her closet for a sexy mini dress to wear to the Club tonight. She will forget all about the CEO from this morning.

Now, I am going to do a little research on Vampires...
