The metro city blazed under the warmth of the sun which rose over the blue sky. Adriana woke up from the deep slumber, palpated her chest while inhaling the air. She Got up early and prepared herself a cup of coffee which reminded her of her job at the Knight's penthouse. She felt exhausted after being ignored by Alaric after her last encounter. The mixed feeling she had for him was now the reason why they weren't talking to each other. Her scars were deep and it took a lot to recover and she did not want to get hurt again. Not only that she didn't want love , but her world was far different from what Alaric was living in.

She sent her kids to school and went to the mansion. As she was about to change her clothes to appear presentable, she decided not to. When she came out from the room, Jonathan stood with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Miss Cosgrove, is everything alright?" He asked with a polite tone coated on his tongue.
