VALERIO!!!

A sigh fled from Nix.

"What are you thinking so hard about, again?" He put his scarf around his neck. "It's cold outside, keep this on."

"Has it begun snowing?" Vincent inquired.

"Not yet." He shook his head and put his own gloves on for him, leaving his own hands bare. "Come." He grabbed his hand and walked him out of the ward and outside the hospital to sit on the bench around the visiting area of the hospital.

Vincent sat next to him and drew a soft breath. "I can't see the stars anymore. That sucks."

"You can remember it, right?" Nix asked.

"I suppose," he answered, shrugging. "I never said this, but my vision was very heightened due to my ability, so sometimes it felt like I could see the stars so close. I don't know if that makes sense, but they were all so pretty."

"Is that why you like looking up to the sky at night?"

"I guess." A soft chuckle rumbled in his throat.
