Keep Quiet!

She threatened, and shocked to the bones, Everly's jaw fell.

"What?!" Taken aback by the fact that a girl of such age was threatening her life, her lashes squinted in disbelief.

The young girl's blue eyes glared at her, and without uttering another word, she turned around and walked away with her hands balled into tight fists

Everly stared at her disappearing back, and a deep frown settled in between her brows.

"What a weird girl." She commented and shut the door, then proceeded to unpack her things.

...

The young girl proceeded downstairs, and immediately Delacy, who was seated in the living room, sighted her, she hurriedly stood up from the sofa and bowed respectfully to her.

"Good morning, Miss Leia." She greeted, but without sparing her even a single glance, the girl walked out of the mansion with an expressionless face.

A deep breath of relief fled Delacy's nose, and she quickly gripped her chest.

Ever since she came to the mansion three years ago, she had never heard Leia speak.

She always had this intimidating vibe as Valerio does, and she would be lying if she said that Leia doesn't scare her.

Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder what sort of girl she was.

She shook her head and proceeded to make her way upstairs, but sudden, familiar footsteps, which she knew and would recognize even in her sleep, resounded, causing her to immediately turn around.

"Mr. Avalanzo!"

She greeted him, secretly shocked as to why he was back.

Didn't he leave for his company an hour ago?

A curious expression emerged on her face, and she shifted her gaze to Alex, who was holding Valerio by the arm.

"Is she ready? I have a lot of things I want to do." Valerio abruptly spoke, and Delacy panicked, certain that Everly had not yet settled down.

"Yes….she is." She lied, unable to imagine the sort of wrath she would have to face if she dared say the opposite. "I will go get her now."

She quickly turned around, hurried up the stairs towards Everly's room, and frantically knocked on the door.

Everly, who was just beginning to unpack her things, pulled the door open for her, and she immediately grabbed her by the arm.

"Your duty begins now." She said to her, and confused, Everly furrowed her brows at her.

"What do you mean?" she inquired. "I thought I'd start tomorrow."

"Well yes. That was the initial plan, but-" Delacy quickly went quiet when she heard Valerio's footsteps.

Valerio, who had arrived near them, halted and slowly turned his head towards Everly.

He stared at her with his lavender eyes, and Everly darted her gaze around, unable to keep eye contact with him.

There was just this heavy throbbing she feels in her soul whenever he looked at her.

It was as if he was frightening her soul with his intense stare.

It is honestly hard to believe that this man is blind because he doesn't act like one at all.

She thought in her heart and watched him walk away towards his room.

"Do I really have to start now? I haven't read through the list!" She asked, and Delacy nodded at her with a grimace on her face.

"Yes. Please just take the list with you." She said to her, and Everly's frown deepened.

She agreed and walked back into her room.

She grabbed the list that she had tossed on the bed and strolled out of the room.

She shut the door and proceeded toward the next room.

She stood in front of the door and took a long, deep breath.

Her hand reached for the door handle, and she pulled the door open, forgetting the first rule that Delacy had told her.

No going in without knocking!

She stepped into the room and shut the door behind her.

She turned around to face Valerio, who was sitting on the couch with his legs crossed and his eyes closed.

"Weren't you told to knock before you enter?"

He abruptly questioned in a cold voice with his eyes still shut and instantly hit by realization, Everly slapped her forehead in chagrin.

She hasn't even begun, and she has already made a mistake. Shit!

She cursed in her heart and allowed an awkward smile to appear on her face.

"I am so very sorry. My mind just slipped because I have yet to settl-"

"Keep quiet." Valerio shut her up before she could finish her sentence and opened his eyes. "Do not speak more than ten sentences around me."

"Ye!"

"This means that when you make a mistake, you do not get to make excuses for it. I dislike ignorant people like you who make mistakes without any valid reason. Do not let this repeat itself again, am I clear?"

He scolded, and Everly, who was deeply appalled, slowly nodded her head.

"Yes…Sir Avalanzo..." She replied. "Is there anything that you would like me to do for you?"

She inquired, and without bothering to reply, Valerio stood up from the couch.

He began to walk towards her, and seeing that he wasn't stopping even after arriving in front of her, her feet moved, and she began to back away until her back hit the door.

"M-mr Avala-"

"Keep quiet."
