"Where were you when I called you?" He lifted his eyes to glance at her.

"At the hospital." Everly responded.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me that this happened?" He asked further questions, his tone tinged with displeasure.

"Because I knew that you were going to get angry. Just like you did yesterday and went ahead to hurt Victor." Everly responded truthfully, and Valerio straightened up.

"Oh, he told you?" He chuckled.

"Why Valerio?" Everly asked.

"Because he touched what belonged to me. If I didn't do that, I wouldn't be satisfied. He deserved it." Valerio replied.

"But... he didn't even know that you and I were together. It's all my fault—"

"Doesn't matter. He kissed you without your permission, so I punished him for it." He cut her off, and a deep breath fled Everly's nose.
