Chapter 11

"Nice to meet you Sydney", Cass brought out her hand and they shook hands.

"Is that our Sydney?", Nass asked. "Yeah", Cass replied via telepathy.

Poor Sydney too was in shock; since now Sydney lives in the mortal world, and unbeknownst to her, Ceri gave her the apartment two blocks away.

And as usual, Ray and Kobie were oblivious to the situation.

Kobie's POV

I quickly rushed to Sydney's side. "Why hello pretty?", I slurred(Maybe to look more attractive? I don't know.... Hehe). "Narcissist", she quickly blurted out. I could only give a blank stare. "If you want to impress me, don't. It won't help you. Онечно, нет", she said. "That means?". "Oh, it means not at all".

"Fluent in Russian huh?", Ray said. She flustered.

And I don't want to say I'm jealous or anything, but he's taking my shine away and replacing it with his.

Kobie: I'd like to know you more though.

Sydney: No.

Kobie: Why?

Sydney: Nothing.

Great, now I hate the girl.

After awhile Sydney had to excuse herself and I volunteered to escort her.

"You have a car?", she asked. "No", I replied.

"Bicycle". "No"

"Anything for transportation?". "Nope, but if Ray.....". "I told you that we'll get the car on the 15th day didn't I?", Ray interrupted me.

I shook my head in shame.

"At least you could be truthful", she smirked(Girls smirk?!). Holding my hand, she tugged me out of the house.

Sydney: I heard mobs are getting ready to erupt when the fire phases emerges.

Kobie: (Shrugs) It's a basic norm to them. Maybe Nagamo doesn't care.

Sydney: I wonder. Maybe she does. Or maybe she's just following Anak's footsteps?

Kobie: Footsteps?(Chuckles) What footsteps?

Sydney: Well Anak basically had all the powers in the beginning and granted them to his children as they were born

Kobie: Ceri being first and her over gentle but cheerful behaviour enabled her to harness the Earth power.

Sydney: Soul's calm and charismatic behaviour enabled him to harness the Water power.

Kobie: And lastly, Mano. Talkative and a tattle tail yet reserved and super observant, granting her the Air power.

Sydney: Wow.... You know your deities.

Kobie: I took History seriously in school. But if the children had these 3, how did Nagamo....?

Sydney: She stole it and went to her Halo Domain.

Kobie: Stole?!

Sydney: Yes. They had an argument and stole it in the process. Not that much Anak could die out of. But hers is natural, so he didn't attempt to take it back. The drawback is it's growing, out of mortal anger and vain torment.

Sydney and I suddenly kept quiet, realizing that we had passed her house and were at my workplace.

"You did talk about working here right?", she asked. I nodded. "Well if I come in, do you think he'll give you a free day?"

I smiled(out of sheer joy, maybe my first natural smile) and opened the door for us to enter.

"Where were you?", Ray asked Kobie when he entered the kitchen. "If I tell you how does it affect you?", Kobie snapped back. "And just so you know, I didn't sleep with her", he added.

True, he couldn't sleep with her. Yet.
