Chapter 1: Alone

The wind blew gently, stirring the tree branches, creating the soothing sounds of nature. Indra Aji who was asleep on the grass slowly woke up and began to feel her five senses.

His ears enjoyed the sounds of nature that made his soul seem to be relaxed. His eyes, although closed, could feel how bright the weather was at this moment. His nose seemed to be happy inhaling the very clean and fragrant air. His skin felt spoiled by the breeze. Only his tongue felt normal, nothing special.

However, just by enjoying these four pleasures in his four senses, Indra Aji began to get complacent and thought of enjoying this a little longer. He said in his heart.

"This is absolutely perfect. This is one of the things I wanted. Relaxing, enjoying the breeze and breathing in the pleasant air. I want to enjoy it as long as possible. After that experience..."

Just by saying that last sentence, Indra's brain immediately tightened. Memories of the horrible event began to flood his brain. It made what he saw in those closed eyes just a nightmare.

Indra, who felt uncomfortable and tormented by all these things, immediately opened his eyes and hurried to sit down. He bowed his head with his breath still panting. He said in his heart with eyes that showed a blank stare and a face that showed a little sadness.

"Is...this...my curse."

After that, as his breathing calmed down, Indra took another breath. This time he took a long breath as he closed his eyes and looked up. After holding it for a while, he finally exhaled. While exhaling he lowered his head to face forward. It was at that moment that his mind had calmed down. Indra slowly opened his eyes and said softly.

"Where is this by the way?"

He turned his head right and left, up and around his body just to make him get confused. Just to make his face portray disbelief.

"Wait..." Shocked by what he saw, Indra said in his heart. Then, as if not believing what he saw, Indra pulled out a blade of grass with his right hand. Indra grasped the blade of grass and as if not believing what his hand felt, he pulled out another blade of grass with his left hand.

"Wait...wait...wait...this can't be, right?" Words describing those doubts appeared in his mind. While pulling out the grass, his head was filled with those words. But, not just a single blade of grass, this time he pulled out three at once. And after grasping it as he did earlier, Indra finally realized something.

"This is real. This grass is as real as on Earth. It's just that it's 1.5 times bigger than on Earth." Indra thought about this while staring at the grass in his hands.

Then, as if he had accepted the fact, his face that had previously portrayed disbelief turned expressionless. His hands, which were tightly grasping the grass, began to open slowly as if without strength. Both of his wrists were also limp, which made his palms tilt downward, causing the grass to fall to the ground.

"Does that mean this is Earth. But..."

As Indra pondered this out loud, suddenly...

PLAKK!

His right hand slapped his own right cheek.

"There's no way this is Earth. Earth is already destroyed. I remember. I stood with them in front of a portal and stepped into it. But, wait...?" After expressing his recollection in a low voice, Indra suddenly remembered something very important.

"Where are they?!"

'THEY' were the two friends who had made it through the crazy events and entered the portal with him.

Remembering his two friends, Indra immediately stood up, looked around, looked right and left, back and ended up facing forward again. Unfortunately, the only information Indra got was the fact that he was standing alone on a semicircular patch of land overgrown with grass. The front and sides were surrounded by large trees. Meanwhile, the back was a towering cliff. Interestingly, the outside of the cliff has been covered by hanging vines coming from the top of the cliff, and the rock face is barely visible at all.

With all that information, Indra concluded that right now he was most likely in the middle of the forest, alone. Frustration filling his mind, Indra lowered his head just to think about how unlucky he was. After all, being in the middle of the forest wearing only a tattered uniform without any equipment was a nightmare.

"Haha...hahaha...aahahahaha...ahahhahahaha!" Laughing, Indra who was initially silent suddenly laughed like crazy. Then, Indra looked up to see the bright sky, his expression was like someone who was sad and resigned. He then said quietly and softly.

"I see, I'm...alone again."

The wind was blowing hard against his wavy black hair. Indra was currently in a very unfavorable situation. He had neither weapons nor food. But, those two things were no big deal to him. To him, even a stone could be turned into a weapon, and seeing that it was currently in a very fertile forest there must be many edible plants, at least there must be berries growing in some places. So what was it that frustrated him?

The answer is loneliness. Back when the earth had not been destroyed, Indra had always lived in solitude. Since he became an orphan in the 3rd grade of junior high school, his beautiful life changed drastically. At that time her family had no relatives, so the obligation to earn a living shifted to his brother. His brother who initially worked from home had to go out of town to work directly at the company office where he worked. All that his brother did in order to get a higher salary. Which made Indra have to live alone.

Some time later, Indra got used to living alone. However, the event had an impact on something else. After the death of his parents, Indra disrupted his friendships. As a result, two of his best friends kept their distance from him. And because of that, Indra became quiet at the end of junior high school and even the beginning of senior high school.

Indra who passed the days in solitude finally felt that terrible feeling, Loneliness. Indra was tormented every night and it continued until one month later. However, how lucky Indra was to have good friends. Even after Indra broke the friendship, not long after, his two best friends came to him and said.

"Hasn't it been too long since you kicked us out?"

"After school come fishing with us, it's not much fun without you."

And with that, the loneliness that haunted Indra disappeared.

But what happened to Indra now? Of course Indra was afraid of the loneliness he had once felt. It made Indra's legs weak, as well as his back.

At this moment all Indra wanted was to lean against a wall while looking up at the beautiful sky to relieve his fear. Indra then retreated step by step with his eyes still looking at the sky and his body looking powerless. The steps were getting closer to his destination, a cliff covered in vines behind him. But, as soon as Indra had arrived and wanted to lean his back on it suddenly something unexpected happened.
