A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

Tokyo, Japan,

Aichi Academy,

Samuel POV,

Near Aichi Academy... or well, that was what it used to be till the day before. Two sections of the surrounding walls were on the ground, completely blown to pieces, cordoned off so as to avoid people from entering it. A number of men in suits were stationed around the school in different places, they looked highly professional and it was easy to surmise that they were on guard duty.

Strangely enough however, there were no onlookers at the moment and police presence was at a minimum as well. Probably because of the school's strange origins and it's more 'powerful' backers.

Samuel stopped near the destroyed wall and whistled in slight amazement and awe, perhaps because it was night then and seeing clearly was impossible but this... "It looks way more...Jesus.."

The school building.. or what remained of it, truly did look as if it had been bombed. The building was blocked off from all sides and the roof had, for the most part, collapsed inwards. Shattered glass lay around in different places, as well as pillars and other relative pieces of infrastructure one would usually find.

'This is what happens when Martial Arts goes too far.'

While Samuel had a fair understanding of where he stood in terms of power, this truly did surprise him... though, it only lasted for a moment or two before he parked his bike and started walking towards the unharmed dorm building. The security didn't even move after seeing him, they had most likely already been informed of his arrival here and were acting accordingly.

As soon as he climbed the stone stairs and arrived near the door however,

"Bonjour, what brings you here?" A voice Samuel instantly recognised to be Mary's, asked in slight curiosity making him give a slight bow in response,

"Good morning." That was all Samuel said to the eccentric french fencer who seemed to be in casual clothes, a shoulderless striped white and blue shirt with blue jeans, she was carrying a purse so Samuel presumed she was headed out or something.

Admittedly however, the girl did look fairly beautiful.

"... That I guess." Samuel pointed at the destroyed school building with a small smile, it was the most normal reason someone would come here after all.

Mary folded her arms and slightly nodded, "It is astounding to consider what may have been used." The school building was by no means small, it was very very large, of course it was, it was a complete school. For something to destroy it in a way that two segments of the building had been separated was quite something, "I dread what might have happened were there students present."

"I'll agree with you on that much." Samuel nodded as well, he'd specifically waited for when it was mostly guaranteed that the school itself would be empty, "Where you headed? Did you grow up?"

".....What does that even mean? If you must know, it's because most of the students have been given vacation." Mary huffed, not understanding what the silver haired teenager had implied, most students had already left for their homes and school would start again when repairs were complete, "I supposed that doesn't matter much to you."

"Not really considering I don't even go here." Samuel shrugged in agreement, it wouldn't have bothered him much even if he wasn't the perpetrator of the incident.

A few moments passed in silence before realisation flashed across the french girl's face, "You... W-What did you mean grown up?!"

"That's a very delayed reaction..." Samuel deadpanned, it would've been funny to see her do this when he said it, not after a shift in conversation.

"H-Hmph." Mary looked away from him, stomping a foot to express her displeasure?

But then, the girl slightly squirmed in place as if conflicted before stealing a glance at Samuel and then averting it again, she tried to speak but then decided against it and the process repeated to the point where Samuel had to look to the side to hide the cracking smile on his face, it was kind of funny to see someone so animated.

'That talk with the deaf girl managed to lift your mood a lot huh?..... See if I care then."

Only after a long 60 seconds did Mary finally resolve herself and nod to herself, as if she had forgotten Samuel was there in the first place. She folded one arm under her chest and twirled her long hair with the other before raising her head trying to appear confident... If only she wasn't blushing in embarrassment and slightly trembling,

"W-Well, as you know already. I'm free t-today, why not a-accompany me?"

In response, she was only met with silence.

A few moments passed like that before she sighed, somewhat dejected, it had taken quite a bit of effort on her part to ask that.... It was a rejection though.

"....You wanna hang out? Sure." Samuel nodded with a small pensive smile, he had time before having to pick up his sister anyway.

'You should stop teasing her before she short circuits.' Echidna sighed, her contractor was kind of strange.

"..." Mary went silent upon hearing his words.... She wanted to smack him and scold him about not having said it sooner..... though, well, a smile spread across her face. She was happy so it was alright to overlook it just this once.

What? Was it really so strange for her to be somewhat attracted to him? He was strong, looked handsome and had an amiable but reliable personality. Yes his actions were strange but she couldn't exactly deny being a bit excited when he tied her up in public....

Mary smacked her cheeks with both hands to get her head out of the gutter.

She was a teenager, this much was okay right?

"Hm, you two seem to be enjoying yourselves but, can it wait until our business is done?"

A third voice came from behind them startling Mary, "P-Principal?" Wait..... how long had she been there?!

"This'll only take a moment." Samuel made a small gesture with his hands before following behind Yukino who was already walking inside by then, she had been ordered by Koharu to bring him inside after all.

"H-How brutish.. To make a lady wait.." Mary complained... however, seeing that there was no one listening to her she just hmph'd trying to hide her embarrassment and took a seat at the stairs leading up to the dorms... She was going to wait for him...

And... that was how it was to go but, Mary hadn't accounted for just one simple thing that would decide a lot.

A certain black haired girl that had been sitting in a window directly above her, listening in on their conversation ever since it started.

Who else could it be but Kirukiru Amou?

"Wench." She muttered out clenching her fist with a small annoyed grin, to say she was aggravated would be an understatement, Samuel was hers...

A slight push with her hands later, she was out of the window and landed near Mary. The distance she had fallen was by no means small or 'safe' but Amou appeared completely unbothered by the fall.

"An insect seems to be forgetting it's place.." She muttered out, slightly tilting her head with folded arms, this girl would be done with before Samuel even came back.

"Huh, aren't you getting a little too full of yourself?" Mary replied with an equal amount of arrogance in her voice, standing up with a haughty smile on her face, there were certain things one couldn't quite compromise on.. She believed this to be one of those.

"I'll give you a chance, back off and no harm will come to you." Amou raised her hands to the side with a somewhat sultry expression, she wouldn't mind teaching her her place either though.

Mary lightly chuckled, running a hand through her hair with a closed eye, "Who exactly do you think I am?" She was a fencer of the highest order, incredibly talented and one of the 5 absolute top of the academy. True, she had lost to Amou once before but, it wasn't as if she had gotten anything but stronger since then.

"You have some guts." Amou grinned mockingly, this girl was getting increasingly annoying. Did she think she really stood a chance? That was upsetting.

Mary folded her arms underneath her chest emphasising it, "Are you compensating for something with that attitude?" The french girl was more than aware of her well endowed 'aspects' and fully prepared to utilise them as well.

Mary's words seemed to hit a nerve as Amou moved instantly, appearing under her with a fist pulled back, fully intent on driving it into her stomach.

However, in a rather surprising turn of events, Mary quickly pulled out a baton from her bag and drove it down into the back of Amou's hand as if it was a piercing weapon.

"What?"

"After witnessing a monster such as him, I couldn't help but find myself lacking in power." Mary explained with a smile, she too was a prodigy, when it came to fighting and had improved herself greatly. Too much one might say considering the span of time.

"Interesting..." Amou opened her clench fist, seemingly trying to grip at the concrete floor beneath them and using it as support, she vaulted forward, smashing her right leg into Mary's shoulder.

The girl stumbled back, somewhat surprised by the rather strange way Amou had attacked. She winced in pain, holding her shoulder with a forced smile on her face, "You don't have your title for nothing, Empress."

"You getting stronger doesn't make me any weaker." Amou simply tilted her head with a blank expression, it appeared she had been underestimated.
