Chapter 1

In the cold of the night, it was late and all anyone could ascertain were the crickets and toads flustering the stillness of the surroundings, Alexander Kingsley, a ruthless and musty rich billionaire along with a couple of his men drove through the murky night in a black Mercedes.

Alexander's face was holocaust as he rubbed his fingers on his golden watch decorated with several diamonds. His dark hair contributing to the beauty bestowed upon him. His light brown eyes could make a lady shiver down her spine at an instant gaze and his pink lips portraying the subtleness any lady could wish for. But his look... His look was formidable and intimidating as he continued fiddling gently with his watch. Jax, Garner and Foster stayed hush, waiting to arrive at their destination.

"We are almost there sir" Jax said as he took a deep breath.

Foster pulls out a CZ combat 9mm pistol and loads it, he hands it over to Alexander.

"Hold on to it, I'll get it when I am ready" a still force in his voice.. Foster retrieves the pistol into his pocket as he looked out through the window. An abandoned mansion a few meters away. Jax rolls up and parks under a tree..

"Did you bring the silencer"? Alexander asked Foster, "Yes I did sir"

"Good, cause I want us to keep it quiet" He puts on his gloves, "And clean" he added.

They all stepped out of the Mercedes and headed straight for the old rackety building.

There are two men in black suits positioned at the entrance of the building, Alex and the rest of his men approached them.

"Welcome sir" One of the guards said as they paved way for easy passage. Alex halts beside them, "Did they say anything meaningful?" he asked...

"No sir, not at all".

Alex smiles and pats them on the shoulder, "Thank you". He turns around and signals the rest of the boys to follow him.

They head towards a curved stairs leading to a narrow path. The building was filled with viscous cobwebs due to the many years of abandonment. They arrive at a door down the narrow path, heavily worn out and disintegrated by termites, Jax pushes the door open and they all get into the room, it's emptiness was almost blinding except that there were two hostages tied up, their faces were covered with sack clothes.

"Take off their crowns" Alex instructed one of his men. Garner takes off the sacks off their heads indignantly. His surly nature knew no bounds. To Alex, he was a valuable asset for getting things done, but he could also be very intractable. A few months ago Alex had him on a secret mission; To keep a young staff hostage for four days for disobeying him, just so that he could instill fear in her and remind her whose the boss. But Garner, a man with zero tolerance and no room for patience, he killed her on the second day in a very absurd manner. Despite his 'flips' and 'flops', Alex enjoyed the luxury of having someone who could take a bull by it's nut-sack without a second thought.

"Hey, Garner... Be careful" Alex said. He turns over to the hostages before him, looking at them without remorse...

"Please" Bradway said as he breathed heavily in fear for his life. His bald head had a patch on it, the wrinkles on his face stood out in the dark. His face was decorated with bruises and even if he sustained a swollen eye, he still had the vigor and urge to plead unbehalf of his wife Natasha, the second hostage in the room. She had aged like fine wine but fear had gotten the best part of her. She could barely say a word after seeing her husband being beaten up ruthlessly.

"Please don't hurt my wife. I am begging you" Bradway said, kneeling upright.

Alex being so insouciant about Bradway's plea, adjusted his coat and threw a blank stare at him, then glanced at Natasha.

"Well Mr. Bradway, if you love her so much, you have to convince her to talk"

Natasha stares at him with fire in her eyes but remains mute. Alex takes his gaze off her and walks towards Bradway. "That's the only way you both get to stay alive" he smiles and gives Bradway a petty spank on the cheek. Bradway begins to breath heavily in fear, he turns over to his wife, a tear drops from his eyes... Natasha watches as the tear rolls down his aged face. She throws in a faint smile... "I love you" she says faintly.

"Wow!!" Alex exclaims in shock accompanied with a smile,

"Finally, the old lady gets to say a word, and all she says is 'I love you'." "That's very touching" Alex says as he approaches Foster.

"But..What does that have to do with the information I need?"

Foster hands him the pistol and the silencer, he sets it up and cocks the gun. "Please, you need to say something, or we will die." Bradway whispers to Natasha.

"That's right, you should listen to him. I would do that if I were you." Alexander throws in. Natasha stares at him stone cold, "I will never mention any word to you, she says bluntly. Alex points the gun at Bradway and in an instance, he pulls the trigger. Natasha screams in shock, her body shivered as she watched Bradway's lifeless body fall to hard surface ground made of wood.

"You cruel criminal..." She yells at him.

"I know" Alex replies blowing off smoke from the gun. "A stinking rich one at that" he adds with a smile.

"Now, I'm going to ask just one more time, and trust me on this one, I won't hesitate putting a bullet in your head" A smile sits on his face.

"perhaps it will be a trade mark, when you get to the 'after life', you will easily identify your husband." he

points the gun at her.

se she is" Shaia quipped from the coffee making station.
