when one is strong, there must also be those who are weak. Whether or not the strong protected the weak was irrelevant to him

Because in the end, the decision to do so lies solely for those who are strong.

He would never delude himself into believing that he was one of the strong. He was not Yu Xian after all.

So once the opportunity arrived, he took action immediately.

If he had to cut down on sleep to study more, then so be it.

If he had to act like a loyal lackey, then so be it.

Even if he had to crawl, he would do it.

His identity as one of the Heavenly Demon Gang's members was all that differentiated him from other cowards with average talent and average backgrounds.

As for graduating… he wouldn't even consider doing so

Unlike the official scholarships awarded by the Academy, Aaron relied on the leftover savings from his middle-school scholarships and public subsidies to just barely be able to pay for one year's worth of education at the Imperial East Academy.

Hoping for anything more would be a foolish endeavour…

' Does that happy-go-lucky fool seriously believe… tch! There's no way in hell the two of us can ever accomplish anything by ourselves.' Aaron inwardly criticized, trying as best as he could to readjust his focus
