Just Another Night In The Abyss of Dark

"Hey, do you believe in soulmates?",I ask as the world suddenly stop on it's left foot

"why?",she said.

"just answer.", I looked at her as my hand started shaking. My feet could barely feel the weight of my body.

"Well,", she looks at the sky,. "if you are talking about people around us, aren't we all soul-'mates'. I mean why would we be interested in one another if our actions and criterias didn't match. Aren't what we do and think what makes us who we are and what our soul is?", she looks at me.

"You know I didn't ask that.", I put a slight force in my words as my lips shake a little.

"Now, to Answer your question. Do I believe in soulmates, as in love. Love is not something I understand very deeply. I've never really fallen for anyone that deeply. I dunno." she bites her tongue.

I feel hurt. I feel ashamed.

What about me? What about us? are we like that? Do you think you can fall for me deep? I want to ask her. But words won't leave my tongue. Just say it. I can't. Say it. What is even the point of it? I feel the pressure on my chest again. What's the point of all these? All that would happen is either she runs away or we live together and even that won't last forever.
