Darling, won’t you dance with me?

Bella: Go ahead, but you should hurry, it's getting pretty dark. Your mum must be worried...

Noah: bella what's.. your story about?

Bella: (chuckles) you'll see once i've finished:) I haven't even decided on the plot completely xD

it'll be a little surprise, how about that?

Noah: (smile's tiredly)

Bella : Why do you ask?

Noah : (shrugs)

          : just curious i guess:)

The truth was, he didn't know why he asked her about it either. He just... felt the need to.

- The crepuscular light painted the dim skies as Noah returned home tiredly. And just like that, another memorable day came to a close. After a quenching meal, Noah relived the entire day, this time, all in his head. He lay in bed scrolling through the many pictures he had taken of Bella. An impeccable smile came upon his face as he zoomed into the serene shots. Even as his consciousness slowly drifted away, the smile remained undisturbed by it all.

The Next Afternoon at School

- The students assembled in the cafetaria for lunch. Bella, Noah and a few of his friends sat round a circular table and began unpacking their lunches. Just then, the speakers in the large hall began to blare:

"A VERY GOOD AFTERNOON TO THE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN OF EASTCOURT HIGH SCHOOL. WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THAT PROM IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! ALL OTHER NECESSARY INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE RESPECTIVE PROFESSORS. WE HOPE TO SEE MOST STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT AND HELP US MAKE THE DAY MEMORABLE FOR ALL OF YOU. THANK YOU, AND HAVE A GREAT DAY AHEAD."

The hall quickly became filled with excited squeals and inaudible murmurs.

Jess: prom during winter? I've never heard about that.

Glory: yeah. Last year, junior prom was around this time too. It's just something that our school does, but its pretty nice!

Samuel, a mutual friend of both Noah and Bella sighed deeply.

Samuel: and so the drama begins, huh?

Noah: Are you not excited for PROM?

Samuel: What? i didn't mean it that way! We'll all have to somehow find someone to go with us. Junior Prom was an absolute disaster. I asked 8 girls and they either already had someone to go with, or they, well.... rejected me.

Glory began to giggle at his sad reminiscing and prompted him into finishing the story. Samuel rolled his eyes at Glory and continued to eat his slice of pizza. His ears flushed red with embarrassment as he looked back on his miserable luck with the girls.

Glory: Go on, finish the story. You can't just stop there... skip to the good part, will you?

Samuel : FINE. The last girl just like the other 7, ended up rejecting me and then I sort of gave up. But guess what. That wasn't even the worst part. It turned out that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and well Mr.G saw it all happen.

Jess: NO! And then what happened?!

" He led me into the staff room and asked if I wanted to go with his daughter" he replied looking away.

Their loud laughter lashed out in the clean air, seizing the attention of many other groups in the hall. Jess laughed so hard, she doubled over.

Jess: WAIT. NO FREAKIN' WAY!  YOU WENT WITH MR. G'S DAUGHTER? BAHAHAH.

Samuel: You know what. At the time I didn't really know whether I had to be embarrassed at the fact that my teacher saw me get rejected or that I had absolutely no one else to go with and so I took the chance to go with his daughter. Well well well, here's to another round of alll of that.

- After lunch, the groups scattered. Some like Jess and Bella headed back to class, while the rest had no class and thus headed out to the large lawn area. Glory, Samuel and Noah walked around the lawn, just chatting, teasing and laughing. However, Noah was relatively quiet and seemed to be engaged in his own thoughts.

Samuel: Man, you alright? Why are you so incredibly quiet?

Gloria: right?

Noah looked up for the first time in several minutes.

Noah:  nah im good:) I was just thinking about prom.

Samuel: What about it?

Noah: I was just thinking about how I was going to ask Bella to prom.

Glory:     Well? Did you come up with anything?

Noah: I was thinking maybe flowers and a box of her favourite chocolate chip cookies.

Sam rolled his eyes.

Samuel: Cliché.

Glory: oh stop, sometimes cliché is everything that a girl wants.

: I'm sure Bella would love that Noah;)

   - In the next few days, Glory, Sam, Jess and Noah helped Noah prepare for the promposal. Noah baked the best cookies; the goey kind that Bella loved. Jess and Gloria were in charge of the flowers; and according to Noah, they simply HAD to be sunflowers, nothing else. And ofcourse, Sam was always available for emotional support.

That evening at about 6 pm after school, all of them headed to bella's house in secret. Eager to see her reaction, the trio hid behind the bushes while Noah prepared himself excitedly in front of her door.

And after a cue from his friends, it was GO time.

He knocked on her door and stood expectantly with his flowers and cookies. He imagined her face light up, her eyes twinkle and so much more. He wasn't too nervous ; he was quite certain that she would say yes. Nevertheless, he longed to hear it from her.

After what seemed like hours, the door finally opened.

Bella: (grins brightly)

        : (notices the goodies)

        : what's this?

- He handed her the flowers along with the box of cookies, looked into her eyes and popped the question.

Noah: Bella, would you go to prom with me?

- She said nothing.

She simply nodded,

and smiled her way into his soul.
