Zoom zoom Iyan.

"Ugh" Groggily shaking my head, my hand slowly reached my temples in hopes of alleviating the pain. Still laying down on my back, I cranked my head to the right and observed the 'dirt' floor. Although I was sure I happened to be laying down on something solid, this entire plane was glittering and sparkling with Kaleidoscopic colours with a seemingly endless ceiling. It was a strange place...

"Zoom zoom, Iyaaan."

That tune sounded awfully similar... Where have I heard that? I grabbed my head yet again as a sudden pang of pain assaulted me.

*Swish*

Briskly, a familiar black-haired and black-eyed gothic wearing loli suddenly appeared in front of me.

[Ophis( Ouroboros)-Lvl?]

"You're finally awake." The half-naked and harmless-seeming loli paused for a second, looking down on me. " You absorbed my snake. Become mine. Help kill Baka Red." she said in a telegraphed tone, with no pauses in between each sentence. Her dark and spiralled abyss eyes looked inquisitively at me for answers.

"Huh?" I could only respond in confusion. Those few sentences were laced with a lot of information.

Slowly getting up from my laying down position, "What does that even mean?" I asked her.

"You died. You absorbed my snake. Become mine."

I squinted at her way of addressing me as I got on my two feet, "I'm not yours."

'System?' I called out in my mind.

"Failure. You are a disgrace to all dragons." a large draconic eye keenly looked at me. The one-eyed black dragon's gaze felt almost like a joke when I was pressured down by this goliath instead— the single eye looked more like a planet in this strange plane of existence.

[Great Red(The dragon of dreams)-Lv?]

'I guess that confirms it.' I thought. This had to be the dimension gap. The reason for my being here is still unknown, never mind the fact that I'm sandwiched between two superpowered beings...

"Huff"

The great red sneered, the air from his gargantuan snout sent me rolling backwards dozens of meters, but I was stopped by Ophis from further harm. I looked inquisitively at her... Her touch lingered for a few moments before she put me down and looked pointedly at great red. " Don't touch."

Great Red seemingly ignored her warning, "A slave to a tool… Ridiculous. You're unworthy to be even be called a dragon."

Dragon this, a dragon that… I widened my eyes as a foreboding sensation crept up on me. I raised my hands in front of me and looked at the slightly protruding black scales coming from my forearms. Furthermore, I looked down to see scales covering my outer pectoral muscles…

"What did you do to me…" I looked at Ophis. I knew she had something to do with this, but she wasn't the least bit intimidated by my stare. Rather, she took it as her turn to simply repeat what she had been saying for the last couple of minutes.

"You are like me. You absorbed my snake, completely. You became mine."

How am I like her… I chose to ignore how she seemed to think that I am hers for now. She's the infinity dragon. How can I be like her?

Limitless... That was the core ability of Gojo Satoru. Infinity versus Limitless.

I brought a strand of my shoulder-length hair, and it was now black... I didn't know, but I had a feeling that my eyes must have changed as well. Furthermore, I tried shapeshifting back into my appearance, but nothing happened. I was locked into this half draconic form.

There was much more thinking left to be done, my mind raced as multiple thoughts crossed it. In the end, I could only sigh, this could have been a lot worse. I could have actually died and passed on.

No. I am sure I already died... Or I was supposed to. I ground my teeth in frustration, Gaia, that bitch.

Right. Ouranos seemed like a chill dude. I'm sure he's got things under control.

"Could you fill me in on what actually happened?" I asked once I calmed down.

"You d—"

I sighed for the nth time, " Ophis, please zip it. You'll just keep saying the same things."

Ophis tilted her head in wonderment about my apparent rudeness, but she pouted after a while. No doubt that she learned that from 'observing' the humans… It didn't look that natural at all.

Great Red was a much better conversational partner. Honestly, what he has said would have sounded ridiculous if me being alive at the moment was the perfect proof.

Ophis, my so-called new 'mother', is so put off by the great red or 'Baka red' as she calls him that she sends snakes to other worlds in hopes of it merging with some individual that would help her kill the great red off. That worked for great red just as good since there would be more strong individuals protecting the world from foreign entry.

"Why are you so surprised, you'glin. I only took residence in this gap to protect the world from foreign invasions. Besides, didn't you come from an outer world as well?"

'Yeah. And that's how you'll die as well.'

I didn't know if I should tell him or not, but he would not stay the strongest being in the world for long... There was so much bullshit happening in Highschool DxD behind the scenes that I wouldn't even discount Elder and Outer gods being added to the equation besides the shown other world threats.

Going back to my case, the one-eyed dragon did indeed consume a snake— a failed consumption. That snake was passed on to me, but I was able to fully absorb it due to the combination of my Limitless and the system.

"I will not stand a dragon, one that may even reach us using such a tool…" the great red said with pride, interrupting my musings.

Pride...

I smiled wryly, looking at the huge red dragon head in front of me that seemed more like a crimson mountain instead." I never asked to be one, you know…"

"Excuses, you would be dead otherwise." Great Red looked at me, "How you got it notwithstanding, a dragon won't run when some sort of tool tells him that the battle is a lost one, a dragon will not retreat with his tail between his legs once the odds are against him. A dragon will fight, and will die fighting."

"Isn't that how I 'died'…"

"Do not insult my intelligence, young dragon. You only tried because you knew you had a chance against that glorified lizard." he sneered. I looked weirdly at it, isn't that a good enough reason?

I didn't appreciate how he seemed to have taken a peak at my memories, but I could do nothing about it.

"Is that so?" I didn't feel like entertaining him any longer. We were talking in two different wavelengths, it seems.

Now that I knew there wouldn't be severe complications, it seems my appearance will eventually go back to normal, I turned my back to him and concentrated on my space-time.

[Spacial-Temporal Archmage- Lv20]

I have a feeling I'll be able to get back, or at least bring the people I marked to me if I advance to the next threshold. I promised Hephie that we would go together to other worlds. I wasn't about to break that promise.

The Dream dragon didn't appreciate my line of thinking as much, "This is what I meant, young'lin..." Great red sighed, I was surprised at the seemingly human-like expression. "You retreat the moment circumstances are unsure."

"You'd rather be a big fish in a small pond... That's not how dragons are."

I was getting irritated by this big 'I'm better than you' talk already, "I don't care. I just want to go back."

"What if your mates got attacked, what do you do then? Simply watch on as the big bad shark feasts on them, while thinking about the big fish— you — could have done?"

I gritted my teeth in frustration and looked at him. Instinctually, I knew what he meant by that metaphor... Scenes of Hephie and Riveria being with other men crossed my mind. To say it was unpleasant would be a lie, it was infuriating. "One day. One day. I will beat you up— just for this. You better remember it."

"Hoho."

"I will be waiting. In fact, I'll even help train you." he drifted off into the horizon to start singing the crazy tune again...

"Zoom zoom Iyan."

[A/N]: Hello, everyone! First, thanks for reading this fan fiction. The feedback that I've been getting has been rather mixed, it seems. It is definitely tilting and very much not fun to read about the negative feedback... At the end of the day, it's part of writing. Not a lot can be done about that, I guess.

Here are my personal thoughts:

With my conscious decision for the MC to not pursue a MASSIVE amount of partners, the fluffy and light-hearted air that this fan fiction had, in the beginning, cannot be maintained in every single chapter. On the same note, I may or may not have gone overboard with infusing my personal narrative into the Danmachi world in hopes of creating something interesting.

Going by the same logic, I'm not sure why it got called bullshit or forced when a number of allocated chapters were talking about Gaia, Ouranos, the spirits and even the one-eyed dragon. It shouldn't be too hard to put the pieces of the puzzle together. It's not as if I suddenly dropped it on you...

Unless you consider me adding my own spin on it bullshit in and of itself. At that point, there is nothing I can do about it.

I will be taking a little break, I'm not dropping this, I just want to review what I already wrote and try to seriously take your feedback in and understand it.
