3 Heading to Orario!

Waking up just as the sun rose, I welcomed the new day with the familiar daily quest.

[ Daily Quest: Getting Ready for action!]

-1km sprint

-100 pushups/situps/squats/pullups

Rewards:

-10 Stat points.

-1x Common item Gacha token.

I can't help but notice the change in the objective. It's at least not going to feel boring should it keep changing.

-----

After completing my daily quest and two hours of sword training; increasing my sword skill level by another seven, making an even forty. The difference has been quite notable.

I wonder how skilled you would become when you hit the nineties or maybe even a hundred.

I decided to use my two tokens and got:

-Tanned leather armour

-12000 Valis

'I guess it's called common token for a reason.' I mused.

As I was fitting my armour on, I heard the rattling of the ward I set up. I quickly finished donning my armour, took out my steel sword, and got in a battle-ready stance.

When I came to check what was the deal. I found a group of 5 ugly goblins, little green bastards the size of a small child with two horns sticking atop of their heads. It was something to see them on a screen and another entirely to see them in reality. They were truly as ugly as they could come.

[Emergency Quest: Eliminate the group of goblins!]

Goblins are one of the creatures you despise the most!

Kill the group of goblins.

Rewards:

-2 Stat points

-1x Common Gacha token

They were luckily trapped and huddled together. It was when I was studying the little fuckers that I heard.

[Surface Goblin]

HP: 85

All 5 of them had the same appraisal results.

'FireBall'

I shot three fireballs, costing me about 40% of my total MP reserves at the moment. I hurled it right in the centre of the tangled mess of pure green ugliness.

They naturally died thrashing and screeching. I knew that this world's goblins were not like that, but I still enjoyed their screams.

[Congratulations! You completed the emergency Quest.]

Rewards added to inventory.

------------

The earlier incident made me realise that there really is no more reason for me to stay in this make-shift home. I might as well start heading for Orario if the surface monsters were going to present a problem regardless.

I can't believe how I got attached to this little cave, perhaps because it marks the beginning of my journey and the first thing I made.

After I made sure to exhtinguish the fire with a Waterball spell, and collapse the tent. I started heading off to the main road I found the day before.

As luck would have it, I ended up fighting a couple more goblins on the way.

I was surprised when I found a Kobold. The monster was holding a stick it probably found on the ground.

[Surface Kobold]

HP: 110

It came charging at me with a wild swing, at a much faster and nimbler pace than the goblins did. Although it ultimately mattered very little, it was at the end of the day a beast; easily predicted.

'I probably looked just like that when I first swung my sword, huh?'

I decapitated it after parrying its attack aimed at my chest.

I didn't bother trying to loot it or scavenge its magic stone.

If I remember correctly, surface monster stones are rather cheap. I already have a decent sum of money on me, and I frankly don't know how to loot it. I am a much bigger fan of the monsters in the dungeon that just go *poof* after dying and leave behind the magic stone and or the drop.

'No extra hassle.'

But as I keep looking at the bleeding monster, I realise how much Gamer's Mind is ''correcting'' my behaviour.

'Man, I'm so not looking forward to when I turn it off. I just gotta hope it's not as bad as I think it is'

As I was musing to myself, I heard the sounds of horse clacking. I look up to see a carriage heading my way. I wave to the coach driver and hope that he stops the cart.

He fortunatly does. I amiably ask ''Sir, are you heading to Orario? Do you mind if I tag along as a bodyguard? A normal passenger will do as well.'' I say as I cock my head to the merchandise on the back of the cart next to what I assume are his escorts.

'Must have been a job from the guild.' I theorized.

''One more for safety couldn't be bad.'' I hear one of them saying.

The coach driver seems to maul over it for a few seconds, then mentions me hop on, not before asking me to pay 500 valis for the ride.

It seemed fair, not to mention that my economic sense is as bad as a newborn. I will have to rectify that later.

As I sat on the wooden cart seat, I took in the appearance of my fellow passengers.

They were a trio, two guys and a woman. A relaxed air surronded them as they laughed and chortled together. I simply assumed they must have been working together for a great deal of time.

I thought it would be rude to intrude on their conversations, as they were already friends and I was just a stranger. But, apparently, that was not the case because the eldest of the three. He was a man that had a robust and healthy body despite being in his forties with a few strands of white hair sprouting in his hair.

He asked me after a while.''Hello there, friend. We got a bit of a ride ahead of us, so we might as well introduce ourselves." he paused for a moment to grab my attention. He continued only after I nodded. " I'm Alan. And the two next to me are Jon and Arya. They are siblings.'' Said Alan.

''Sure, Name's Ken. I was on my road to Orario when I saw the carriage... thought I could maybe tag along and— here we are. I just left the village, hoping to make a decent living there. And change my life for the better''

It is technically not a lie. Not that I necessarily needed to lie.

''I definitely thought you were already an adventurer. Your posture is really good. You must know how to fight, young too, and a pretty face to boot. The ladies of Orario must already be swooning!'' Teased Arya, the older sibling of two.

All four of us shared a laugh at that.

The ride continued like that, lighthearted and fun.

There was no classic bandit attack...

I was almost sure there would be one. It was one the fantasy staples.

''There it is, son. The entrance to Orario'' said the coachman driving me off my musings.

''Thank you for the ride, old man'' I said as I was waved back and got in line to enter the capital city.
