A rebirth in the North

In the cold void between life and death, a person found themselves standing before an ethereal figure, their features veiled in divine light. The soul was overwhelmed by the sensation of transcendence, and as they took in their surroundings.

After some time, they successfully regained their bearings, and the awareness struck them that they were in the presence of a divine being – a god.

"You have lived your life with courage, honesty, honor and determination," the god's voice resonated with warmth and power. "You are about to be transported to the world of Game of Thrones, where you will be reborn as Lord Eddard Stark—a character from the show that aligns with you the most."

"Now, as you depart from your current world, I grant you the opportunity to be reborn in another realm with three wishes. Choose wisely, for these wishes shall shape your new life."

The person contemplated for a moment, their mind drifting back to the epic tales of Westeros, where honor, intrigue, and battles for the Iron Throne unfolded. A smile formed on their lips as they knew what they desired.

"Indeed, Eddard Stark is the person I admire the most. His sense of honor, honesty, and unwavering determination in the face of danger have always inspired me," the man expressed with a smile.

The man also observed that his name matched that of the person he is being reincarnated as, saying, "It seems like destiny for me to inhabit the body of someone who shares my ideology."

God spoke, "Proceed with your wishes. Your mortal soul cannot endure lingering in the realm between worlds for an extended period of time."

"Alright, my first wish", Eddard spoke resolutely, "is to possess swordsmanship and combat experience on par with Ser Barristan Selmy and Ser Arthur Dayne. I wish to wield a sword with skill and grace, standing alongside the legendary knights of the realm."

As Eddard continued, "Eddard Stark's distinctive fighting style needs to seamlessly integrate into my swordsmanship, experience and fighting prowess, creating a unique and formidable blend of swordsmanship."

The god nodded approvingly, acknowledging the bravery and dedication of the wish. "Your wish is granted."

"For my second wish," the person continued, "I desire that House Stark, somewhere in history, has taken possession of the Valyrian steel sword Lamentation, once held by House Royce. So that this formidable weapon may now serve House Stark in times of need and that it shares its history not only with House Royce but also with House Stark"

Again, the god smiled at the chosen wish, still a little surprised by Eddard's wish. "Your wish is granted.". The god did not expect that Eddard would make such a simple wish.

Most of the people that the god encounters choose far more powerful and impactful wishes. The mysterious god however, remained unperturbed by the wish; yet Eddard's wish provided a refreshing deviation from the consistently overpowering requests.

"As for my third and final wish," Eddard spoke with his expression very pleased, "I wish for unwavering loyalty from all my vassals and other allies in the North to House Stark, including those that pledge their fealty and allegiance in the future."

"They simply need to uphold the terms of fealty and allegiance, nothing further."

"I merely want to ensure steadfast support until the day that my House, House Stark, ceases to exist. Let the loyalty of my vassal houses be a testament to the strength and unity of our House Stark."

The god, aware of the intention Eddard had nodded with a satisfied expression. "Including this wish, all three of your wishes have been granted to you."

"However, heed my advice," God imparted a final piece of counsel to the man, "Be aware that your personality and behavior will harmonize with Eddard's. These wishes will remain dormant, revealing themselves only when your souls have fully fused with one another."

God continued, "I anticipate it will require approximately two hours to complete, during which time you will remain in a state resembling a coma."

Eddard looked up and still accepted his chosen wish, "I remain certain of choice, I will not second guess myself"

With the three wishes granted, Eddard felt a sense of fulfillment, knowing that he would be reborn into the world of ice and fire with a chance to alter the course of events and live his life in an amazing story.

As divine light surrounded Eddard, the god's voice echoed with finality, "Your path shall now intertwine with that of Eddard Stark. You will retain your previous memories and the power of your wishes, though the memory of your meeting with me will disappear. Use the wishes wisely, for you shall face great challenges and consequences in your newfound role. The Game of Thrones awaits you, and the fate of its realm may lie in your hands."

Not long after the god finished speaking, Eddard felt a gentle pull, as if being drawn towards a distant horizon. The god's ethereal figure faded away, as he embraced the journey ahead with great anticipation.

Realizing that his new life as Eddard Stark will be both a gift and a burden doesn't make him regret his life at all; he now has a way to forever change the course of Westeros's history itself, and that is plenty to look forward to.

And so, Eddard's soul is currently being reborn in the cold North, ready to walk the path of honor and duty, to reshape the destiny of Eddard Stark, and to leave an indelible mark on the Seven Kingdoms.
