736 Golden Time for Rescue

The two of them walked for a bit in the snow.

It was a distance before Li Lei stepped onto something hard, something that did not feel like snow. He stopped in his tracks.

Xia Ling asked, "What's wrong?"

Li Lei did not say anything. He bent over and, with trembling hands, dug into the snow. Having been out on battlefields for years before, he already made a guess — it felt like a corpse that had chilled and hardened. He prayed hard that it wasn't his biological son buried beneath.

Thankfully, it wasn't.

Under that layer of snow was a random stranger's face, distorted but frozen in a moment of shock and panic. Seeing the outfit he was in and the luminous bangle on his wrist, Li Lei identified the corpse — this was one of the people who followed them and eventually caused the avalanche.

He told Xia Ling about it.
