Chapter 1

"Really? I'm very much sick and tired of you being insecure about me, Cam. That's it, I'm done." Stacey yelled, her eyes stung as tears threatened to pour out as she spoke.

"Leave then. Jed this, Jed that. One time, this new guy shows up in school and you're already all over him and you call me insecure for telling you how I feel about it? You're so f**ked up." Cameron stormed out of the room in annoyance.

She had just broken up with her long-time boyfriend of over three years. She didn't want to lose him but he was being unreasonable, she thought.

"Hey, beautiful." Someone spoke up, interrupting the silence that had hit the room.

"Leave me…alone!" She stormed out of the room. The events of last night flooded her memory as all she kept thinking about was Jed asking her out and Cameron watching them make out.

She felt she had betrayed him but then again, it wasn't her fault. She found herself in love with two guys and it was difficult for her to choose. She made up her mind to talk to Cam but it ended up with him being so insecure, dumb reason, but she had to break up with him.

"Hey, how did it go?" Devika asked as she lowered herself beside her on the bench.

"Not very well. We broke up." She said, as all the tears she held in for long poured out in an outburst. Devika pulled her close, smoothing out her hair as she consoled her.

"It'll be fine. You were a b*tch, but, I guess you love Dylan more than Cam. I'm so sorry."

"Yeah? I do. But, I love Cameron too. Maybe what will be will be?" She asked and Devika shook her head in response.

"Yo, what's up ladies!" Miguel asked as he shook hands with them.

She quickly bent her head low as she wiped her eyes clean before smiling at him.

"Hey, what's up Mig." Stace raised her head to face him, just then, her eyes came in contact with Dylan's.

"I'm cool..heard you two broke up," Miguel says and she gives off a faint smile.

Jed kept taking sneak peeks at her as they spoke.

"Alright, I wanna get going. I just thought I should come say hi." Jed excused himself, she found herself wanting more of him.

She loved his company and wished she never had to choose between Cameron and Jedidiah Dylan.

Her phone chimed and she swiped right to unlock it.

"Math hall, see you in a bit." The text read.

"Um..guys. I've gotta go, I love you, buddies." She sniffed and grabbed her books as she left for the math hall.

She arrived at the math hall a few minutes later but it was empty. She glanced at her phone again to be sure she was at the right place, and it was certain she was at the right place but the unknown sender was nowhere to be found.

She sighed in exasperation before settling on a chair. He walked right in through the door and she lifted her face to look at him.

He sat on the desk in front of her.

"I'm sorry for what you had to go through.." She leaned forward and kissed him, cutting him short. He pulled away gently but she wouldn't budge. For some reason, she didn't feel guilty anymore, she didn't feel bad anymore, it felt like Jed was the pills she needed at that moment.

"Yes." She said as she broke the kiss.

"I'm sorry, what?" Jed asked with a look of confusion plastered on his face as he chuckled.

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend." She replied, her face sober, cheeks flushed red as she looked at him softly. Her eyes pleaded to be with him.

"Are you sure about that? You just broke up with Cam, this whole thing is going way too fast." Dylan said.

"Dinner at Golden Palace by seven pm. I'll be waiting." She flung her hair at him as she turned on her heels and left.

He stood there, like a perplexed chicken, trying to wrap his head around what just happened as he watched her leave like nothing happened earlier.

The hallway was crowded and noisy as people went about doing whatever they wished. He was almost at his locker when he bumped into Cameron.

"I'm sorry, bro." He muttered, trying to avoid eye contact with him.

"Watch where you're going dude." Cameron snarled at him and turned on his heels to leave. He stopped abruptly when he turned around again and retraced his steps back to Jed.

"I might not be with her anymore, but I still love her. Now, you're in my spot, you do all you can to take care of her. You hurt her, I'll hunt you down, cut your d*ck into small chops and feed it to you. Got it?" Cameron said with a tone of finality as a smirk formed on his lips.

Jed tilted his head to the side, as he tried to look the most confident and not intimidated.

"F**k off." He replied with a smile as he ebbed Cam and kept walking.

Cameron stood there, smirking evilly, his fists balled as he watched Jed walk away. He knew he had lost her but he was certain it wasn't for long. He wasn't going to do anything to bring her back to him, but he let her have a taste of her choice.

Stacey walked into the classroom and settled down next to Jed as the lecture began. She looked radiant and was the best definition of beauty.

How she managed to keep her cool, look beautiful, and remain happy despite breaking up with Cam….Cameron Cooper, the hottest guy on campus, every girl's dream guy was such a mystery. She had barely turned a page of her pamphlet when Cameron walked in with Marina tailing behind him, chewing on her gum noisily. Marina was his ex and she envied their relationship a lot, so, seeing they weren't together anymore, was like a golden opportunity for her to shoot her shot.

Her lips pressed into a thin line as she watched them sit next to each other, just in front of her. Jed placed his hand over hers, trying to calm her down. She let out a sigh as she looked away, turning a page of her pamphlet, trying to act normal.

The class soon came to an abrupt end the moment the bell rang, and it was time to go home, and for the first time since she started dating Cameron, she had to go home, alone.

Jed walked up to her locker as she stuffed her books in it.

"Hey, baby." He called out. She pulled the door of her locker closed to see Jed.

She threw her arms around him, spilling how tired she was and how she needed to eat. He wrapped his arms around her small body frame, inhaling the scent of her cologne on her neck before letting go.

"Let's grab lunch in the restaurant nearby, and you can tell me whatever you want to, during our lunch, okay?" He asked.

"Am I doing the right thing?" She thought out loud.

"It depends on what exactly you're doing that's making you wonder if it's the right thing to do." He replied, almost immediately.

"Oh, did you just read my mind?" She halted in front of him, arms folded, lips pressed into a firm line, eyes squinted as she observed him for a while.

"No. You said that out loud. And, what are you doing standing like that in front of me?" He asked, his voice laced with laughter.

"Observing. I'm weird, you'd have to get used to it." She said as she kept walking ahead of him.

They made a stop in front of a restaurant and they got in.

"So, why did you break up with Cameron? To be with me?" Dylan asked as he watched her munch on some burger.

"Oh." She mumbled amidst mouthfuls. She put down the burger on a plate and wiped her mouth clean before speaking up. "Don't forget about dinner tonight. Golden Palace, seven pm. Don't be late." She excused herself and walked out of the restaurant. Jed kept calling after her but she wouldn't budge. He settled the bills and when he went out, she was already in a cab back to her house.

"You're home already, what about Cameron?" Someone said behind her.

Really, what's with everyone and Cameron today? She thought to herself. She turned on her heels towards the direction of the voice. Her eyes dilat

ed in shock as they beheld the speaker.

She froze at the spot, staring at the speaker.

"You?!"
