Constable Rupert Potter stood well over six feet tall. His chest was deep and spoke of immense strength, his arms bulged in the restrictive uniform of the Constabulary and his sturdy legs resembled colossal tree trunks. Constable Potter was a genetic anomaly; his body was agile, strong and quick, and his mind no different. To those lucky enough to be his friends, Potter was loyal, caring and compassionate; above all, Constable Rupert Potter was principled and fair. Many Maori, knowing him for his valour, honoured Rupert by bestowing upon him the name 'Iho', which means 'heart' or 'inner core'.
