Silent Love

It was Monday, bright and clear! And the sky was clear...

People were busy with their daily chores. Everyone was busy trying to handle their lives better.

Franz Munn, the Deputy Editor of Conquest World magazine, got up quite late today. He cast a bitter glance at his girlfriend, Lorraine, and got out of bed.

Last night had passed before his eyes. He was wondering how the start of the week would be. Who knows how the week would start?

Until he freshened up, the thought of facing Editor Churchill today seemed humiliating. Joining work again after the weekend is undoubtedly a difficult matter.

As he closed the inner door of his house, he was hurrying up the stairs of the English city, Suddenly, Franz's gaze fell on the letterbox in front of his house.

He quickly entered his code to open it and muttered to himself, "Franz, be prepared for unexpected humiliation."

He emptied the letterbox and, lifting the quite heavy parcel from it, shook it in his hands. "Why is this so heavy?" Franz wanted to open it, but he thought it more appropriate to head towards the car.

In a white shirt, he looked as handsome as ever. Humming the tune of "O heart," he walked towards the office.

As he stepped into the office, he knew who he would encounter first. He put the heavy parcel, along with other mail, in his cabin and sat on the chair, looking towards the clock.

As soon as he placed his order, he turned on the computer and began to show as if he had been reading and editing stories for the past few hours.

A few minutes later, according to his estimate, Churchill entered his cabin.

"Ooo Franz! Are you well in the office so early this Monday? Has your girlfriend Lorraine left you?" Churchill chuckled, extending his hand for a handshake.

Franz, with great composure, just smiled at him and remained focused on the computer.

After checking his work for a few moments, Churchill turned back to leave.

"Is this some novel's parcel that looks so heavy?" Churchill directed Franz's attention towards the parcel.

Franz shook his head.

He couldn't remember how to open it. He tried to open it by bringing it closer.

Churchill also stopped to see what would come out of the parcel.

Franz looked at Churchill and was so despondent that he couldn't say anything...

He took out a protective box from the parcel. The box was of a pale color, tightly sealed at the edges.

Both of them were curious.

Franz opened the box with the help of pliers.

A large bundle of printed papers lay before them.

"Is this really a novel?" Churchill's curiosity ended, and he turned back.

But Franz stopped him with his voice.

Silent Love by Van Ersal.

"Has Van sent us a novel?" Franz was surprised.

"It seems so," Churchill bent over the bundle of papers with speed.

At the beginning, there were a few lines:

"Respected Conquest Worlds Editor!

I want this novel to be printed in your office... When it is printed, please do not inform me. I know everything about my affairs. If you do not want to publish it, then discard it.

Best wishes,

Van Ersal

New York, America"

Churchill took a deep breath.

"It has always been like this, helpless and arrogant! But this is a big opportunity for us. Our magazine will go top trend if Van writes for us," Franz was happy. He was thinking that if this is printed in the magazine, then there will be progress and along with it, a bonus... He wanted to replace Lorraine. Maybe he had become despondent with her.

Physical relationships lose their value very quickly, but true love always remains.

"This is true, but Churchill thought for a moment. Why does Van stay hidden? He is from America, so why is he getting a novel published in England?"

Franz took a deep breath and took a sip of coffee. It was a bit too bitter.

"No one ever knows why he does that. And why, despite being so famous, he hides himself from the world's eyes."

"I could never understand why you hide so much. I don't even have a picture of you," Valerie placed her violin by the roadside. It was a bright dark evening this Monday, and the sky was clear. Valerie remembered the previous night, the argument with her grandmother might never end.

Valerie thought, if her father had truly loved her, she wouldn't be in jail like a murderer.

Suddenly, she felt as if she was all alone in this big world, with no friends. She lifted the violin and began to play. Despite the bright day, her tune was melancholic.

She sang,

"Oh, my heart's pain,

don't cry!

My loneliness is my

only companion in this world where

even shadows belong to no one.

Don't seek a beloved here."

Tears flowed down her cheeks. The thought of Van suddenly brought sadness to her eyes.

Suddenly, she saw three boys approaching.

They looked rough and unruly, with strange smells emanating from them and the stench of alcohol on their breath.

One of them came close to Valerie's face.

"These beautiful eyes shouldn't cry, princess," he joked with a laugh. Another, signaling with his eyes, said to Valerie, "Join us, you'll always be happy."

Valerie cleared her tears and looked at them with anger. "Mind your own business," she said angrily, raising her finger,

and they started laughing.

They seemed to feel fortunate to have heard her. She cast a glance over the entire city, lost in her own tune.

She lifted her violin and decided to leave. The feeling of her weakness brought tears to her eyes. The three ruffians were still looking at her with contemptuous eyes. When one of the boys saw Valerie leaving, he quickly grabbed her arm and started pulling her towards himself. The others also started pulling Valerie.

One of them placed his hand on Valerie's face so that she couldn't scream. Valerie tried very hard to free herself, and in the struggle, one of the boys grabbed her violin and threw it a considerable distance.

No one was paying attention to her plight, and it was getting dark, so no one was paying attention.

Suddenly, someone arrived. He quickly started hitting the boys. They were fighting each other. He pushed Valerie behind him. In a short while, a few more people came forward when they saw the fight.

The three ruffians ran away, and Valerie took a deep breath. The face of the boy who saved her was not clear, but his attire indicated that he was a joker. He came close to Valerie.

"Are you okay?" the boy asked affectionately.

"Yes, I am okay," Valerie said, crying.

"Please don't cry!" Valerie looked at the face that was crying seeing her cry, she was saddened.

The joker picked up the violin that had fallen by the roadside and handed it to Valerie.

"Oh, it's broken," Valerie said, holding it to her chest.

"Is it very dear to you? This violin," he asked.

The boy's manner was very cautious, as if he was speaking very thoughtfully to avoid saying anything wrong. Valerie laughed when she saw his manner.

"This is my only friend, and no one else," she was scared from today's incident.

The joker laughed and asked,

"A violin...your friend in the world of humans? "Yes, why not be friends with humans?" Valerie smiled,

"My name is John and yours?" He asked.

Valerie looked at the road. "My name is Valerie," she answered shortly.

"Are we becoming friends?" John asked shyly.

Valerie smiled, "Friend! Yes, why not. Humans should also experience friendship."

As they shook hands, both of them burst into laughter.
