What Is The Goal?

"Has she ever been beaten?" Polly flinched at the coldness of his voice. She had been kept in an adjoining room of Elara. Her hands tied and her legs too.

She was not starved or kept thirsty but she could not leave this room. So far she had not been questioned. Just controlled.

But she was not expecting this to be her first question.

"Did you not hear me or you are playing dead?" he frowned as he came closer. She could see darkness looming over his head, promising to hurt anyone who came in the midway.

"I asked.." his hands came to her neck and held it tightly. So strongly that she could not breathe. But that was not enough. He pulled her up from the ground and handed in midair.

"I asked if she was beaten by her husband?" he roared, her body forgetting the struggle looking at the hatred in his eyes. It scared her to the core. "Or you were part of it. Is that why you could not reply?" Polly coughed badly but that was not enough to get his pity.
