Erity went through the katas for the day with her wooden odachi. Their clan favored the odachi and naginata due to their improved strength and speed, the only problem was their eyes. Erity used wood to train her eyes rather than her muscles, it took years for the eyes to catch up with the body's speed. The other thing the very rapid katas taught was perception. In ideal times, she'd train with a Hyuuga or Uchiha, but she could not do that at this time, as a war was in full swing. So, she swung a wooden stick around in her room until she managed to actually see it. A few kage bunshins stood around her, so she could check for any flaws in her form afterwards.

The clones were something she was encouraged to master, most of her clansmen didn't have the sheer amount of Chakra needed for them. Shadow clones were an amazingly fast way to learn if you could, the clan planned on abusing that. They had even started having her send clones into the library, just to see how much she could learn. In just a year she'd be sent to Konoha and she wanted to be ready.

Deciding she was done with the odachi, she moved on to throwing kunai, Shuriken, and senbob. 10 kunai, 9 Shuriken, 1 fuma Shuriken, 10 senbon. She went through this for a while while pondering.

She didn't know what to think about going to Konoha, the thought scared her to a point. She never went long without her family at any time and she was expected to leave for 6 to 8 years.

She looked at the targets. 7/10 Kunai, 10/10 Shuriken, 6/10 senbon. She sighed and prepared to start again.

Konoha was supposed to be beautiful, surrounded by Forrest. Many beasts roamed the lands, she had heard.

She threw at the targets again. 8/10 Kunai, 10/10 Shuriken, 8/10 senbon.

Her pondering/practice session went on for a time before she decided she was done. She wanted a hunt.

Running out into the forested valley that her clan resided in, she began her search. She decided to bring an odachi, a proper one, from the armory, for this hunt. Her father had always told her it was best to hunt with your prey in mind, her target today was a stag.

Stags were difficult, they had amazing prey instincts while still being able to put up a fight. She felt her feet pound against the forest floor as she ran, the chakra in her legs quieting her steps. She had to be careful, because her clan's bloodline made them so dense, they were much heavier than they should be, it could cause problems at times.

She suddenly stopped and crouched to the ground when she felt she was far enough in the forest. She stopped her breathing, slowing down her hearts beyond the ability of a normal human, and most Shinobi to think of it, and she listened.

Through reflex, her chakra began to disguise itself into the forest's natural feel. Any Shinobi beyond an academy student would sense her, but the point wasn't to become invisible. She waited for the sound of a herd moving, the stag would not be far behind.

After about 15 minutes, she heard them. A soft thump in the ground from the 30 or so deer in the herd. She was lucky today, if they had been by a river she would have been waiting for hours.

Taking a slow breath, she exploded from the ground, moving with practiced ease through the forest she had been made to memorize. When she got close enough to see the herd, she moved to the canopy of trees. She was faster than the deer, but not by much, and moving through trees was slower, she couldn't afford to do it for long.

She ran with the herd for about a mile before they found a clearing to rest in. Grinning in anticipation, she selected her target.

She couldn't go for the patriarch, as that would hurt the herd and forest's health, so she selected a young adult male instead. Very slowly moving through the canopy surrounding the clearing, she creeped closer.

Once she was close enough for comfort, she channeled chakra into her limbs and leaped from a branch.

The deer felt her presence a bit too late, it knew it would die, so it screamed to alert the herd, so more would not succumb to the predator that had ended it. The scream was successful in warning the herd, but was cut short by Erity's odachi cutting it's spinal cord at the neck, dying instantly.

She watched as the herd scampered away, back into the forest. She was taught to learn from the deer, most people discounted them, but they were nothing if not loyal to the end from a certain point of view. Even at its end, the stag had made an effort to protect Its family.

Giving a small thanks to the deer, along with a prayer, she began her harvesting. The meat she could take was wrapped in the deer's skin and some leaves to protect it from the elements. The useful bones were stacked in a satchel she had brought. The blood she could siphon was moved into a few vials. What was left, she dragged inside a fallen lag with fungi, so that the forest would consume and reuse the deer faster.

On her way back home, she grabbed some herbs and flowers the clan used for various reasons, and checked some traps for rabbits and other such things. They had caught a couple squirrels and a small viper.

Nobody was at her house when she got back, so she went through the post hunt routine on her own. The deer's skin went in a basket for the tanner, the bones were cleared of marrow and grinded for the gardens, the blood was placed in the ice bank, with one vial being placed in a syringe for her to do an injection later. The viper's venom glands were drained and mixed with a few herbs for another injection later.

After that, she made a few simple medicines she was trusted with.

Suddenly, the door burst open. Her mother and father were carrying a man between them. Erity noticed first that the man had red hair and a Leaf hitai-ate on his right arm, along with an Uzumaki swirl on his left. Knowing the procedure she rushed to the medical cupboard, grabbed alcohol, penicillin, a sedative, and a chakra replenishment pill, and ran to the kitchen table where her parents had placed him.

Her mother ripped off his vest, something only a woman of her clan could do, and pressed down on the massive gash going from his right shoulder to left hip. Her father slashed his own rust and held it to the man's wound, their clan's blood adaptability would help him.

Her mother pinned the man's arms when she saw Erity, nodding her head towards her daughter.

Erity gently slid a senbon covered in the sedative into the spot on his chest that would slow his heart. She then placed the pill in his mouth and made him swallow it.

From there she began to clean out his wound with alcohol and a clean kunai. Now that he had a little time, her father made a proper transfusion IV.

After cleaning the wound, she forced him to swallow the penicillin as well. From there she began to stitch up the wound with a sewing needle from her pack. It wasn't perfect but the small family got him stable.

She grabbed another pill and gave it to her dad.

"So where'd you find him?"

Akani, her father, looked sad and responded, "Your mother and I were preforming a quality check for the river at the north border, near a battle site. There were two dead kumo-nin and one was barely struggling to stay alive, we couldn't have saved him, so we gave him to the forest. This man apparently went down fighting."

Erity looked at the wound. He was a lucky man, it was clean. "If the blade had been of any less quality, he'd be a goner.", she stated rhetorically. Their clan had a policy of saving anyone they found injured, people were better off alive if you didn't know their story yet. Knowledge was a core ideal of the family, it wouldn't do to have any go to waste.

Her mother spoke then, "The war is getting closer and closer. Uzu still owes us a debt for saving their asses in the last war, maybe we should move the clan there temporarily?"

"No, Uzu isn't any safer than our valley. Plus, they have enough strain with all the Konoha-nin there for their protection."

Erity hated this talk, she liked to pretend the war wasn't there, that it was far away from their ancestral home. But she couldn't ignore it any longer.

"I'm going to grab him some blankets. Also, just like the last war, they wouldn't dare attack a clan of several hundred Shinobi killers."

Her parents smiled at that.

"Maybe it's time to remind the world of why we earned that name.", a new man said, having just entered, "After all, they did make it dangerously close to our land."

"Hi Jiji, also, we all know who was truly in danger…", her parents shuddered at their daughter and her grandfather's feral grins.
