Chapter 37: Karaoke
“Whiskey straight,” Rory said, waving to the bartender. “Make it a double.”
Outside, Rachel and Jared were having an animated discussion, and the sight made Rory want to vomit.
Micah leaned against the bar. “You okay?”
She took the drink from the bartender and sipped a large gulp. “I will be after this.”
Micah tucked a piece of hair behind her ears and the feel of his touch immediately calmed her. She set the drink down and touched his hand. “I’m sorry. I feel like that – just ruined this. That kiss was something else,” she blushed.
He squeezed her hand. “I don’t think anything could ruin that kiss. In fact, I think I kind of want to do it again.”
“Oh you do?” she smiled.
“I do,” he grinned, sliding a finger under her chin and lifting her face so it met his. He leaned down and a moment before his lips touched her, there was a dramatic gasp behind them.
“I knew it,” Rachel said.
