Chapter 19: The Ex
It became clear Elisha and Meredith had more to talk about, and as Libby excused herself to the bathroom, Elisha offered to walk Micah out. She opened the front door and glared at him.
“I know Libby didn’t text you,” Elisha said. “She knows better than to invite you to my house even under these circumstances. Meredith is biased because she’s your mother, but I can see right through you. You came here to stop Libby from talking. So either you told her about the Rogue Shifter or there’s something else you two are hiding. Maybe both.”
Micah slipped his hands in his pockets and held Elisha’s eye contact. She wasn’t his Alpha, wasn’t even part of his pack. Lying was effortless.
“Feel free to take up your conspiracy theories with the committee. I don’t have time for this.”
“Whatever you’re hiding, I’ll find out,” Elisha smiled. “You reek of bullsh*t, Micah.”
Micah laughed. “Maybe you’re just smelling yourself.”
