(Prologue) The end of the beginning

I ran, I ran as fast as I could, I ran as fast as my legs would carry me but in the end it probably wouldn't be enough, they'd find me eventually, they always do, I thought as I took a sharp turn down an allyway, only to be met with a cruel brick wall, "We got you now kid" said one of the men that had been following me, "Yeah just give up, thare's no point running anymore" said his counterpart, one of the men raised his gun to my chest, "Nighty night kid" he said as he pulled the trigger, I couldn't move, my body suddenly felt like lead, I hit the ground but didn't feel a thing, my vision was very hazy all of a sudden, "Hey why didn't you shoot her head" I heard one of them say, "Too messy, besides she'll die anyway so thare's no difference" they walked off, is this it, am I gonna die here, in this grimy back ally with no one to remember me, how fitting, in a sick kind of way I guess, "Well, well, well what do we have here".
