Ch 48: Power of a kitsune.

We were facing off against each other, on one side was us, and on the other were them, we made no movements against each other, the wolf leader likely couldn't get closer to us due to the trees in the way, at least I hope, Ethan was shivering, was he scared perhaps?

"Ethan, don't be afraid you are a lot stronger now."

"I-I know, but I can't help it, it's like it's an instinct."

"Don't worry, we are also here, overcome your fear and fight with us."

Ethan starts taking deep breaths besides me, he was still a little afraid but the shivering had decreased, the wolves seeing that Ethan was afraid had gotten a bit more arrogant and had now began getting closer to us, if they were going to approach us so callously then I will show them the power of a third evolution!

As they got closer I had done a quick jump that had closed the distance within an instant, the wolves had been surprised on how fast I got to them, in the instant they did not react I had cut 3 of them apart with a swing of my claws, the attack was so devastating it created air pressure that cut 4 trees apart, this was unbelievable, such strength only from a normal attack?!

Even the wolf leader had been clearly surprised, and then it decides that the other wolves would just be unilaterally slaughtered if they fought me, and so it decides to move and face me directly, I decide to leave these wolves to Nozomi and Ethan, as I can tell that they'd die way too easily if they fought me, they had also started to cower away from me, I decided to leave them and face off against their boss, the wolf leader was narrowing its eyes, I think it may see me as a massive threat, seeing him being afraid of me like that made me feel kinda bad, the wolf leader decides to take me in melee combat as it thinks it has an advantage there, it uses body strengthening and then dashes towards me, the ground breaks with each step it takes and trees are blasted out of its path, although the distance between us was around 100 meters it gets close to me within a second, I jump up in the air as it goes for a sideways swipe, the swipe was pretty powerful, it caused a shockwave that destroyed a lot of trees and created a 10 meter long gash into the ground, when I was in the air the wolf leader tries to fire countless ice shards against me, I fly away from it then land behind the wolf leader, it smacks me with its tail and pushes me away from it, that attack did some damage to me but it was nothing to mention, from the brief battle we've had and measuring its energy level, I see that I was more powerful than it, I'd say it might also be a bit weaker than the water drake, the wolf goes in to bite me but then I retaliate by hitting the top of its head with my foreleg, the wolf's head had been thrown into the floor and had gone into the ground it was standing on, I hadn't even used body strengthening for such a devastating attack, huh perhaps I would've won even if I didn't evolve? No, this wolf is strong, but this evolution increased my strength by a crazy amount, the wolf jumps up and gets back on its feet, it was now moving more erratically, it fires a large ice spear at me, I dodge the spear and retaliate by using a space-time technique, I decide to use the suggestion of Ethan, I go up to the wolf and I try to age it to death, the amount of energy taken was higher than any other technique I ever used, it had taken 10% of my total energy, the wolf was affected by the technique and it was aging before my very eyes, the part that I had touched which was its leg had turned to dust and the wolf fell to the ground, the wolf had removed the technique but its leg was removed now. I was feeling pretty bad for doing this to the wolf, when I was feeling bad, I saw what the wolf had prepared, it had prepared a giant ice meteor, I think it was around 15 meters wide, the meteor was levitating like 70 meters above ground, it was really high, the wolf then smiles maniacally, and drops the meteor on the two of us, I finish off the wolf with a light beam that vaporizes it, and then I start lifting the meteor with telekinesis, this meteor was pretty damn heavy, but if it fell it would definitely have devastating effects, I fly towards the meteor while holding it, then I use a space time technique to erase it, due to the large size of the meteor I had to work on the technique for a while then I had used it to remove destroy the meteor, that had used up a large amount of energy, I think I had used 30% of my energy just on that one attack, if it was me before I evolved I would even have enough energy to use this, yikes space-time techniques really use a lot of energy but are also stupidly powerful, when I get even stronger this will be 10x more useful, when I get back to the ground I see that there were only two wolves left, they were shivering because their leader had been defeated easily, before Nozomi and Ethan let them go and then they run away, there was no point in killing enemies that were too afraid to fight, and I don't want to kill anyone unnecessarily. Well we had an exceedingly easy time in this fight, wait now that I think about it couldn't we just leave by flying? I go up to the two of them and then talk with telepathy.

"Hey, I just thou-"

"That was amazing Rai!" Nozomi interrupted me.

"What insane power!" And so did Ethan.

"Wait wait wait, as I was saying I am fairly sure we can just fly across the forest now."

"Wait what? You mean you'll carry us or something?"

"Yeah I guess, I think we can do it."

I lift both of them up in the air and then take off my self, we go up over the thicket of trees and then up in the air, when I glance back towards me I think that I saw that man once more, I shake off that feeling as just paranoia, and we start crossing the forest more efficiently, the forest was really large, I think it may be several dozen kilometers wide, when I was admiring the forest, suddenly I see that man again, he had boosted himself into the air and was now flying towards me, I really didn't want to fight him as he probably was equal in strength and higher than me in equipment, I also had to protect these two as he was vastly superior to them, the only saving grace I had was that I had the aerial advantage as he looked like he was not suited for flight, but the question remained here, should I fight or should I run?
