13 White

When Karma awoke, the first thing that his eyes laid upon was the color white. In fact, everything around him was white. Confused, he decided to walk aimlessly to find something. But all he could find was the color white. No matter where he walked or where he laid his eyes upon he simply couldn't see any end. A vast world of nothingness.

"Strange."

He felt rather confused. It was only moments earlier when he was chained onto the steel chair while being tortured with no foreseeable end.

But now he was in a new world. His body felt very light and the pain from earlier faded. It felt as though he was rejuvenated. As if he was the strongest being in this world.

Possibly the only being in this world. Even so, it was a pleasant feeling.

For some reason, this place made him feel calm. Waking up in this bizarre area may be worrisome but at the same time, it gave him a sense of security. Away from the torture, magic, nobles. Away from his life as a cripple. Away from everything the previous world offered.

This place gave him time to himself. And more importantly, it gave him time to rest.

He fell onto the ground extending his arms and legs. Afterwards, he closed his eyes slowly, allowing himself to be consumed by this world of white. And just like that, a short yet quick hour passed.

But when Karma opened his eyes once more, he saw a strange figure in front of him. It had the shape of a human but no features were recognizable because the figure was comprised of the color black. Almost like a living shadow.

"Who are you?"

The shadow's mouth moved or at least it seemed to move but nothing came out.

"Can you talk?"

Once again the shadow's mouth moved, this time making gestures as well. But nothing came out.

Upon seeing this, Karma had the urge to touch the shadow. There wasn't really a reason behind it but just a feeling of resemblance.

Karma proceeded to extend his hand. As his hand got closer to the shadow, a faint light emitted. It only got stronger as the distance between the two lessened.

Eventually Karma made contact.

Immediately after, the light emitting from the shadow exploded, flashing a warm and vivid summer like color. This color spread throughout the shadow which was only moments prior completely black.

Once the color fused with the shadow, what laid before Karma was no longer a shadow.

"W-Who are you?"

"I'm… I'm  you."

It was an identical version of himself from four years ago.

However, before Karma could process everything, his eyes suddenly become distorted and he felt nauseous while his energy felt drained. The unease made him fall to the ground. Although, he couldn't see much, he noticed that in the background the world of white alongside his other self were disappearing. With no energy remaining, his eyes shut.

When he awoke once again, he realized that he had returned to the real world.

"Welcome everyone!!!" Father exclaimed. "Let us begin the show!"

Promptly, the audience clapped.

"What!?" Karma mumbled still trying to regain his composure.

"Our first event of the day is this young boy right here.... Our challenger's name is Karma. The first cripple we've acquired in 20 years!! And his opponent shall be our undefeated colosseum king!!"

From the large gate, entered a man standing 5.6 foot tall weighing around 160 pounds. He was relatively slim and wore a light chest guard for protection. As for his hands, he held a dagger in each.

"With a total of 99 wins and 0 losses! Can he reach his 100th win or will the cripple be able to defeat the monster."

Once again the sounds of hands clapping echoed throughout the room while Karma remained unaware to what was to come.
