A Royal Obligation

In a realm of four kingdoms, two were on the verge of war. Prince Eirik, the fourth prince of Valeidio, a Ferre whose beauty could rival the gods, was thrust into a marriage alliance with Prince Kaelix, the strong and proud heir of Zephyros. Both princes were determined to fight against the fate that had been forced on them. Eirik resented being used as a pawn, while Kaelix saw the alliance as a threat to his freedom. As they clashed in a battle of wills, their encounters became a constant push and pull of resistance and pride. But as the pressures of duty mounted, the lines between obligation and desire began to blur. In their struggle against their forced union, they found themselves drawn toward each other in ways they never expected. Would their bond become a weapon against the war or would their kingdoms' rivalries destroy any chance of love before it could take root? --- Warning: This book contains mature themes. Confronting Feelings

Sadiki paced outside Drystan's quarters, his heart hammering in his chest as he struggled to keep his thoughts in order. It had been days since the kiss, days of avoidance, confusion, and the painful pull of unresolved feelings.

But he knew it couldn't go on like this. He had to confront it, to confront Drystan, and the emotions he wasn't sure he was ready to face.

Taking a deep breath, Sadiki clenched his fists, willing himself to find the courage to knock. His mind swirled with doubts, uncertainty flooding him.

What if this conversation only made things worse? What if he said something he couldn't take back? But he knew this limbo between them couldn't go on any longer.

Summoning the last bit of resolve, Sadiki knocked on the door.

A few moments passed, then the door creaked open. Drystan stood there, his stoic expression softened, surprised to see Sadiki standing there so late. His eyes widened slightly before he quickly masked his reaction.
