13 13.

{3 days later}

Wilhelm returned with the carriage and I walked downstairs to meet them. Wilhelm then opened the door and carried a little girl. I estimated that she's 3 years younger than me based on her size. She was wrapped in linen and I could see her pale skin. She was coughing and her breathing is unsteady.

'Its seems its serious sickness.' I thought as I waited for Wilhelm to come to me.

"Young Lord, we're back." Wilhelm said with a sad smile.

"Its fi-" I didn't get to finish my words because I was stumped.

"Wilhelm, bring her to my room." I said seriously making Wilhelm surprised after seeing her granddaughter.

We went up to my room and I had Wilhelm lay her down. I removed the linen and confirmed my suspicion. Shock was plastered in my face making Wilhelm nervous.

"Aegis, is there something wrong?" Wilhelm asked me but I just kept silent.

'Isn't she the one from SAO? The one with incurable disease?' I thought. I then did a double take to see if I'm wrong since she is still a little kid.

'Yeah, she's definitely Konno Yuuki. No doubt about it. Then what about her disease?' I thought to myself.

"Uncle Wilhelm, can you tell me about her disease? I might have an idea on what it is but I just want to ask to see if my assumptions are right." I asked Wilhelm. When Wilhelm saw my face, he knew that this was a serious matter. Wilhelm hopes that my assumptions were right so that he wouldn't be left in the dark about the disease and he might be able to find a cure for it if he searched for it.

"I don't know much about it but sometimes she would have a fever and sometimes she would cough blood. Its as if random diseases were chasing after her." Wilhelm said and my eyes widened in confirmation.

"AIDS." I muttered subconsciously.

"Aegis, what is it?! Can my daughter be saved!? Is there a treatment to it?!" Wilhelm knelt down and asked me in agitation.

"Calm down, Uncle Wilhelm." I said to him which somehow calmed him down.

"I'll explain it in the most simple terms. Basically, your granddaughter's disease weakens her ability to fight against disease. Its the most simplest explanation. I won't get into detailed explanation since its a little complicated. Her disease has already reached the point of no return, if not treated, she will die in a year or two." Wilhelm collapsed as if he lost his soul. I looked at him and sighed.

"But don't worry, I have an idea on how to treat her." I said and Wilhelm slowly regained hope and looked at me for answers.

"There are two options we can take, one is to go to the Western Coalition and ask the Church of Artemis' saint, Priscilla. The second option is located in the Royal Capital." I said and Wilhelm already knew the answer.

"The Royal Capital? What is my granddaughter's cure? How can I find it there?" Wilhelm frantically asked me.

"I'll take you there. I have business in the Royal Capital as well." I said with a sigh while Wilhelm looked at me, confused.

"While you were gone, Uncle Gilltian sent an invitation letter to celebrate the victory in the Civil War." I said and he understood.

"Take her to a clean room. Make sure that it is cleaned spotless. We don't want her condition to worsen." I said and Wilhelm nodded. Before he left, I asked for her name.

"What's her name, Uncle?" I asked him.

"Felicia. Felicia Van Astrea." Wilhelm said and Wilhelm made preparations and ordered the maids to prepare a room for her granddaughter.

I looked at the fragile girl curled up in the bed like she was feeling cold. I covered her in linen to make her feel warm. After the room was prepared, Wilhelm took his granddaughter and brought her to her room.

'Hmm. That guy is the best in medicine as far as I know in the past run. The only problem is that his fees is very expensive.' I thought to myself for a few seconds before slapping my forehead.

'Why am I worried about his price?! I'm fcking rich, aren't I?' I thought as I laughed at myself for being foolish. My territory in the past run was not as lavish as it is now. It is miles away in comparison. That's why I kept forgetting about simple stuff.

I thought of recruiting that guy to work as the medic in my territory but my residents would suffer from his price. The reason why that guy is so good is because he uses the combination of healing magic and surgery. He might be beneath Priscilla in terms of skill but at least he will work if you pay him. Priscilla on the other hand is a special existence of the Western Coalition, a saint, to be exact.

The next day, Wilhelm prepared the convoy. Now that the nobles knew a little about my strength, its time to flaunt that little 'strength' to make them think twice. 50 elite knights wearing Blankšum plate armor, Blankšum weapons, and horses wearing Blankšum horse armor are part of the convoy with Wilhelm at the head and 15 mages who specialize in different elements. I had Felicia lie down inside the carriage in the opposite seat of mine. With Wilhelm as the appointed head of the knights, Melissa became the carriage driver.

She said that she had stayed in my territory long enough and wanted to return to fulfill her duties at the manor back in the Royal Capital.

My subjects seeing the convoy, made way and knelt down as respect for their ruler. They might be talking with me informally when I go out to play but when it comes to formal things, they knew when to show their respect for their ruler.

The convoy proceeded normally as we stopped by towns and villages to restock our supplies. Because we entered towns and villages, we are safe from bandit attacks but they are still alert and cautious, truly elite knights.

After 5 days of travelling, we didn't encounter any attacks and were able to reach Dresden. When we came near the Dresden's gate, the guards saw our flag carrying our insignia. We didn't enter immediately and stopped in front of the gate. Wilhelm then came forward and showed the Invitation letter from the Emperor and they let us pass. We returned to the manor and the news of my arrival spread out once more. Wilhelm assigned the Knights to their posts and carried her granddaughter in his arms. Melissa arranged a room for Felicia and I returned to my own room.

The Victory party is tomorrow so Wilhelm and I, need to be fast. I called for Wilhelm and he arrived at my summons.

"We don't have time. We need to go to that man to heal your granddaughter." I said and Wilhelm nodded.

We left the manor in disguise and started making our way to the slums. The slums were like a maze but I knew the directions of that man's house. Soon, we arrived at a broken down house and Wilhelm looked at me nervously.

"I know, but he's the best guy I know who can treat your granddaughter." I said and I knocked on the door three times.

The door opened and the man inside asked in a hoarse voice.

"What... is it... that you.. want?" The person asked.

"A patient." I said to him which surprised him.

"Who... are you?" He asked.

"Does it matter? We have a patient that needs treatment." I said and the man let us enter.

The inside of his house has an unpleasant smell but I ignored it. If you smell the blood on the battlefield, you will treat the stench of this place as child's play.

"How... do you... know me? You... know that... my price... will be high... right?" He said as I signaled for Wilhelm and he took out 2 leather bags filled with coins.

"Like I said, it doesn't matter how I know you. As for the price, 1,000 gold coins. 500 coins in each bag." I said as I looked at him. This man was once at the height of his fame and was respected in the field of medicine but because of a failed operation on a noble, the nobles chased him down, he got kicked down from above and now he is living in here, trying to scrape by and live for another day.

He then lit up a lamp and we saw his face riddled with scars. His name is Brum but what I usually call him is Dr. Black Jack because of his patchwork face.

"Follow... me." Brue pushed his bed aside and a secret door was beneath it. We followed him and the dust made Felicia cough very hard.

When we reached the bottom of the place, what I saw was a room with an operating table at the middle. The room was filled with dust and cobwebs and Felicia is having a hard time breathing.

Wilhelm rubbed her back to help her. Brue started cleaning up the cobwebs and dust on the operating table.

"Lay her down... and I'll start... treatment." I signaled for Wilhelm and he placed her granddaughter down on the operating table.
