Description:

Kyōsen Junior High is a middle school from Kyoto. Their basketball team is fairly strong, able to reach 8th place during nationals every year, but many thought that they're just a slightly above average team at worst or a below elite level team at best. The basketball team is considered a 3rd option by many so they only have 40 or above club members.

The team have a strong philosophy regarding keeping your strongest cards hidden until the need arises. They teach their team like this so that they'll still have many cards to play with for future use. However, they also put emphasis on always showing what you got, just not EVERYTHING that you have on hand.

With this philosophy in mind, Kyōsen made a reputation for being utterly inconsistent. They would sometimes be able to beat major contending teams but would then flop when pitted against the weaker teams during the quarter finals.

Structure:

Being a school who is infamous for being highly inconsistent with their performance, many students classified Kyōsen's middle school basketball club as 2nd rate. Due to this, only a few members joins each year. Their club membership count fluctuates in around 40 to 60 members every year. As such, the club is only split into two strings, the first string and second string. The first string is the main team of the club, the strongest and most important one. The club's captain is always a player from the first string. The second string is considered to be a mix between the reserves for the first string and the casual members who joined for fun. They would sometimes play against practice matches or even during the preliminaries when the head coach allows it.

Each string has a coach assigned to them with the head coach overseeing the whole team. Chu Lin is the head coach of the Kyōsen Junior High, a reputable former star player of the IBA from overseas.
