Morning Problems
The rest of the night included the girls playing some games amongst themselves while Maddox prepared a simple meal of instant ramen packs for dinner since they had plenty of water and the hot pot was working well to boil the water for it.
Soon enough everyone was content with stomachs full of instant ramen and soon everyone begins to individually turn in for the night in the other office room where his inflatable mattress was oh and the goblin infected who was bound and gagged in the corner of the room.
Maddox closes the door after Dog since he decided to put her dog bed in his room since putting it anywhere else might be a bad idea.
Out of everyone in the building right now the only one that Maddox could trust was Dog.
'Huh never thought I would have to place my trust in an infected...' Maddox thinks to himself as he soon enters his mind space where he takes a look in the archive room to figure out who's memories he should look at for tonight
The goblin's memories on driving had all been viewed but the only reason Maddox had kept the disgusting creature was simply that he wanted to pick its brain a bit more and maybe some idea for a test would pop up in his mind. Other than that using it as a miasma battery for himself was not even worth it since its miasma reserves were so pitiful that he just could only use it to recharge the hole that he had.
All that stuff he had bought, besides Dog and the girls, were in this room but covered in illusions so the girls did not accidentally stumble upon them.
That would just cause more headaches than Maddox did not want to deal with so he would keep them hidden away from the girls.
Like Maddox just said he only truly trusts Dog and no one else within the group of girls since he was seeing that while he may have altered a few things about them there were some worrying actions that they were taking.
'Especially with Angella...' Maddox thinks back to how she had been acting especially since she seemed to be the most bothersome of the bunch
Maddox simply spends the rest of the night in his mind space as his break night and simply thinking to himself and self-reflecting on some things that he had noticed a change with himself.
Self-reflection is always important, especially for a growing boy who has to deal with a lot, even more so for Maddox since his world is completely different than anyone else.
Eventually, Maddox wakes up early in the morning just like usual since the perception of time within his mind space is different Maddox can only guess how long everything is in the real world and only when he truly gets bored during the night is when he wakes up.
Looking at his phone he sees that it is about six in the morning and his body was pretty well rested right now considering all the work that he has done over the past few days and how stress-filled it has been as well.
Getting up Maddox stretches and yawns as he rubs the sleep out of his eyes before getting off his inflatable mattress.
Dog hearing Maddox wakes up also awakens but she simply moves her head and looks at Maddox to see what he was doing and if she needed to follow him or not.
Maddox however is simply doing the same workout routine that he always does once in the morning and in the evening occasionally to bulk up. He was still young but good and bad habits tend to stick hard so it was a good idea to do this for the future.
Dog curiously watched Maddox push himself with some exercises that don't require any sort of equipment such as pushups, squats, planks, leg raises, and more in his workout for the next hour since he would only see substantial improvement through hard work and pushing himself.
Once done Maddox takes off his sweaty shirt and uses it to wipe his brow before tossing it to the side and grabbing a new shirt from the ones he bought and setting it aside for now since it would just get sweaty as well. For a solid ten minutes Maddox simply browses his phone surfing the web and checking out anything going on in the world that may catch his attention, but most of the time it is the same bad news.
"Sigh..."
Turning off and putting away his phone Maddox now grabs his new shirt and puts it on before heading out of his room. Currently, no one else is awake right now which makes a bit of sense seeing as it was only about 7:30 in the morning right now.
So Maddox gets breakfast prepared for everyone by using the hot top and a frying pan to make some scrambled eggs while milk and cereal are put out on the table for anyone who walks out from the smell of food being made.
"Ugh... what time is it?" Susan asks as she sleepily walks out of the other office room and into the sort of common area that everything was put in
"About 7:30, you want some eggs?" Maddox questions seeing that Susan grabs a chair for herself at the table and plops herself down at the table
'She looks like she is about to pass out...' Maddox thinks seeing her doze off while sitting down at the table
After placing her eggs on a paper plate, since they have no plastic or ceramic plates due to the lack of a dishwasher or proper sink, he places her portion of eggs in front of her and gets a pot of coffee made seeing that everyone else may be tired as well.
"Snore..."
Looking back at the table Maddox sees that Susan had fallen back asleep while seated in her chair and a bit loudly at that.
So Maddox decides to take advantage of this by approaching her while extending his hands to her sides from behind. With his hands straightened out, he jabs both of them into Susan's sides at the same time which awakens her with a jolt at the sensation.
Such a method of waking someone up who happens to be sitting is quite effective since it is an unexpected sensation of being 'attacked' in this way, however, it is recommended that you be behind the person since they will try to retaliate against the one who attacked them.
Maddox used to do this against his sisters and it had become a sort of fierce battle throughout the day to see who could do it to each other more times during the day since it was most effective when the target was caught off guard.
"Kyaa!" Susan cries out as she is now awake as she whips around to see who it was that did this to her
"YOU JERK!" Susan tries to retaliate against Maddox with a fierce slap to the face but he ducks and retreats back to his eggs
"Eat your eggs before they get cold alright," Maddox simply says as he continues to cook some more eggs for everyone else
"Woof" Dog lets out seeing the altercation between the two while Susan simply 'humps' to herself before indignantly eating her portion of eggs
Establishing a connection with Dog he asks her what she wants.
'Master can I have my breakfast as well?' Dog asks while she wags her tail a bit as she sits near her food bowl
Cutting off the connection Maddox grabs her food bowl and grabs one of the canned food to see if Dog also likes the taste of it as well. He also adds to her bowl a small portion of eggs to try as well since he wanted to see if she enjoyed it as well.
After placing everything in her bowl he puts it on the ground and she bends her head down and takes a sniff at the contents before looking at Maddox to understand what was in her bowl.
"Some other food that I thought you might like alright," Maddox replies upon seeing her gaze as he cracks some other eggs to make another batch of scrambled eggs
Dog tries a bite out of the contents within her bowl before a frenzy of crunching and smacking of Dog's mouth as she devours everything within her food bowl before she moves over and laps up some water to quench some thirst she gained from the dry dog food.
'Good to see she enjoyed that' Maddox thinks to himself as he finishes making the next portion of eggs
Soon enough though as Maddox is finishing up the cooking more of the girls walk out of their office room before sitting at the table and being given a portion of eggs from Maddox. The smell of food seemed to draw them to the table as most of them were still tired and threatened to fall back into dreamland.
That is until Maddox stabs one of them in the side just as he did with Susan and now they were simply looking at him with an almost murderous glint in their eyes as they looked at him, wary of what he might try to do them.
Maddox didn't care about that since all that he carried about right now was two things which were that his groceries and food would not be wasted and that today he would get those memory files from the girls since he had asked them to gather them he assumed that they would be done by now at least.
This would give him some new stuff to look at while he 'slept' at night which was important since he was practically dying to get his hands on their memories since all their information was bound to be useful one way or another.
Eventually, everyone was seated at the table with each of them enjoying eating their scrambled eggs and having a bowl of captain crunch to go with it since the eggs could only fill them up so much.
"Alright girls today I will need to talk with you individually for a few minutes each so that I can get those copied memories from you all," Maddox tells them after he is done eating
Voices of agreement are heard from everyone as they knew Maddox was going to ask from them eventually.
The whole personality change was something complex and simple at the same time as Maddox made it so that the girls would listen to any type of command he gives and made them obedient towards him while also having to add in some other things since they required to complete the process. Some of the things he added were just fill-ins that he believed would not cause any problems for him, but seeing the girls act differently than he thought they would be he attributed to their original memories influencing them.
That was part of it but mainly some of the changes he made caused them to act weirdly in Maddox's eyes.
So he would try to remedy any future problems he had by modifying a few of the changes he made as well as collecting the copies of their memories.
He needed to do a lot this morning but Maddox was fine with that as long as nothing unexpected happened that is then he should be fine.
A few minutes later in the mind space of one of the girls.
