A Rare Precious Breed

“Listen dummy, I am so sorry,” I said “for pushing you away and making feel like I don’t appreciate you enough.” Without a word being said, Angela just turned and hugged me. Angela was mostly a hugger in emotional situations. “It’s okay,” she whispered in my ear “I love you dummy.”

Chapter 19

Precious' P.O.V

"So, what happened baby?" my mother asked.

"I was just walking home from the park," I replied "then this group of guys attacked me, but the funny part is that one of them mentioned that I was Joshua's girlfriend and then they all fled away."

"I'm glad you're okay," she replied "you want ice cream?"

"Yes please," I said.

As mom headed to the fridge for that ice cream, I check my phone and the only calls I received that night were my mom's million phone calls. Yet, there was no word from Dummy. Since she left with Tony, she hasn't said a thing to me and that had me worried.

"Here," mom handed me the ice cream.

"Thank you," I reached out and took it.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"I haven't heard from Angela since she left the park last night," I replied.

"Maybe she's busy," she said "I mean we can't always be in touch, right?"

"Angela always makes sure that she updates me about everything," I replied "especial after she left with a boy."

"Precious, you're overreacting," she said.

There was silence for a few seconds, my eyes locked on the TV screen as my mom and I watched Vampire Diaries which was our favorite, the only TV series we watched together. Mom kept on glancing at me with a smile on her face.

"You can say it mom," I said.

"Say what?" she giggled.

"I know that look on your face," I cleared my throat "I know there's something in your head right now."

"Joshua, loves you," she said.

"What?" I laughed "he told you that?"

"I can see the look in his eyes," she said "the same look and passion, your dad used to give me."

I just smiled and looked away, with no word coming out of my mouth.

"And I know you like him too," she added.

"Mom, really now?" I rolled my eyes.

"You can…"

Mom was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Are expecting anyone?" mom asked.

"No, maybe it's Angela," I replied.

Mom went to open the door as I realized that she was right about me being in love with Joshua. I loved everything about him, including his lime green eyes which made him cute. He was so amazing and I'd melt at the mention of his name.

"Hi, Pricilla, is Precious home?" it sounded like Angela's mom.

"Yeah, come in," my mom replied.

Angela's mom, the sweetest woman I have ever met. She was in her late 30s but she looked 20, this woman was my secret role model. I always wanted to look younger than my age. My mom closed the door behind her, the came and sat beside me.

"Precious, when was the last time you saw Angela?" Angela's mom asked.

"Yesterday, I left her at the park with our former classmate," I replied.

"She didn't say where they'd go after that?" my mom asked.

"No, she usually calls me but not this time," I said.

"Oh, gosh," Angela's mom put her hands on her head "her phone is even off, I have to go look for my baby before it gets dark."

"Let me call Josh," I pulled out my phone "he might help."

"Please do," mom said.

I dialed Josh's number and it rang for a few minutes then he picked up.

"My lady," he answered.

"Hey," I replied "I need your help."

"What's up?" he asked.

"Can you please rush to my place right now?" I replied.

"No problem," he said.

I hung up the phone call and glanced at Angela's mom who looked so distressed.

"He's coming," I said.

"Okay," my mom nodded as she rubbed her shoulders.

"I hope these werewolves haven't eaten my daughter," Angela's mom said.

There we go again, that werewolf nonsense again. I bet my mother believed that whoever attacked me the other night was a werewolf. I look at Angela's mom and scoffed, my mom knowing that I was about to say something non-sympathetic she just stared me in the eyes and then shook her head stopping me from saying anything I wanted to say.

"I'm sure she's fine wherever she is," my mom said.

"Joshua, will be here anytime soon," I said.

30 minutes later, Joshua arrived. Well, that boy was so handsome, I gasped at the sight of him. He had a tuxedo on, his smile was like the cherry on top I was completely taken away by how his muscles looked under that suit. I offered to go with Joshua and Angela's mom but my mom insisted that I should stay because I was still recovering from my own shock. Angela's mom and Joshua left but Joshua's handsome picture never left my head.

**************

Joshua's P.O.V

As I drove with Angela's mom, my mind was still focused on what happened at the werewolf parliament before Precious called. There was a serious division in the werewolf kingdom, there was a group that still believed that it's wrong for werewolves to coexist with the humans and then there were those who believed that there was no problem for werewolves to coexist with the humans.

They reported that there were werewolves which secretly attacked the humans and turning them into werewolves, which explained what really happened to Precious the other night. These werewolves were on the mission of creating an army of violent werewolves which would terrorize the humans. All this was done behind the king's back, and as for my dad he kind of liked the fact that someone took such a step. Uncle Bas, launched an investigation to find out who was really behind all these things.

"You're not the type that talks too much I see," Angela's mom said.

"I have my own times," I glanced at her.

"Do you think she's okay wherever she is?" she asked.

"She's okay," I replied "don't panic."

She slowly breathed in and out, then later stared at me.

"My daughter is everything to me," she glanced over to me "she might not be perfect but she's everything to me. I am not ready to lose that child, I would give my life for hers."

"That's what every mother would do," I nodded.

We arrived at an abandoned house where I could hear racing heartbeats and screams, I told the lady to stay in the car as I went into the dark creepy abandoned house. As I looked around, I could see fresh blood all over the house from the door. I changed into my werewolf form and followed the blood trail until I arrived at a certain room on the second floor where I had to sneak and overheard werewolves disagreeing on something.

"We keep doing this man," one of them said.

"We are getting paid to stare up the fight between the humans and our kind man," the other one said "that's easy money man."

"But it's still wrong bro."

"It's business bro, it's nothing personal."

I changed into my human form and walked into the room, they all recognized who I was so they trembled with fear on my sight. There was a young girl lying on the ground but it was not Angela.

"Good evening, your highness," they all bowed.

"Who is paying you?" I asked.

"What are you talking about, sir?" their leader asked.

"Who attacked that girl?" I pointed to the young girl on the ground.

"We found her like this," the leader lied "we were about to help her."

I went approached him and looked at him straight in the eyes.

"I'm not stupid," I said "when I get back to the palace, I want to find this girl in the doctor's lab. If I don't, I'm going to come for you and you know what's going to happen."

"No problem, sir," the leader stammered.

I then walked back to the car, where Angela's mom waited for me impatiently, there was a sense of disappointment where she saw me coming back to the car without her daughter.
