A Rare Precious Breed

“Listen dummy, I am so sorry,” I said “for pushing you away and making feel like I don’t appreciate you enough.” Without a word being said, Angela just turned and hugged me. Angela was mostly a hugger in emotional situations. “It’s okay,” she whispered in my ear “I love you dummy.”

Chapter 15

Precious' P.O.V

"I like your boyfriend," mom said.

"Mom, he's not my boyfriend," I replied.

"The way he looks at you, is the exact same way your dad used to look at me," mom said.

"But mom…"

"But why are his eyes green?" she interrupted me "mostly werewolves that from royalty have green eyes, is your boyfriend some kind of a werewolf?"

"No, he had contact lenses on," I replied "anyway, why do you still believe this werewolf nonsense?"

"Werewolves killed your dad," mom said.

"I'm going to sleep," I replied trying to avoid the conversation "I got an early class tomorrow."

I jumped off the sofa heading to my room and my mom being mom, annoying at times, she called me before I could even enter my room.

"Mom?" I yelled.

"Mr. Johnsons called me today," she said.

At this moment I knew that she was told about the drama that took place at school earlier today. But to my surprise she wasn't furious about me causing drama and going crazy, it's like she didn't want me to be controlled her demon.

"And?" I asked.

"He told me what happened," she replied "I'm proud of you baby."

"Okay," I said as I entered my room.

I expected my mom to go all crazy and angrily yell at me about not retaliating when people did me wrong. When I was 5, I stabbed a certain girl with a pair of scissors on the thigh because she was playing with my toys without asking for my permission. Well, from that time my mom made sure that she taught me to stay far away from violence and drama. Then eventually I just hated violence, and knowing that my mom is the most violent human being in the family, I just wouldn't report each and every bully that I met in my life.

I scrolled on my phone and then I realized that Samantha, Precious drama was far from over when I came across another created WhatsApp group and this time the group was created in my name. All the filthy pictures were sent into the group and this time, my face was revealed. A phone call from Angela came through to my phone.

"Dummy, are you seeing this?" Angela asked as soon as I picked up.

"Yeah," I replied.

"You need to punch her across the face," Angela said.

"Yeah, I really need to do that," I replied.

"Or I will bring you a pair of scissors," Angela joked.

"You still remember that?" I giggled "where is that girl anyway?"

"I heard that she got married or something," Angela replied.

"Time flies," I said.

"Are you coming tomorrow?" she asked.

"Yeah, I won't skip class because of Samantha and her cronies," I replied.

"That's my girl," she said "Goodnight dummy."

"I love you dummy," I replied as I hung up.

I glanced at the pictures and I realized that I was not bothered at all. I glanced at my mirror and came across the note that Josh and I were talking about earlier.

"A rare precious breed," I read it out loud.

For some reason this sentence had a deep meaning, I just didn't know what it was, I jumped off my bed and switched off the lights in my room. Being on my bed was a really therapeutic thing one could always do. I closed my eyes and slowly I faded away into a deep sleep.

Walking in the school the following day, eyes were on me and Angela. Everyone probably thought that I was the drama queen of the year. Angela was getting fed up of everyone staring at us so she stopped and stared back at a group of girls who seemed like they were talking about me.

"What the fuck are you looking at?" Angela angrily asked.

The girls remained quiet and some laughed and that made Angela angrier.

"Oh, you all think this is funny," she went closer "if you have a problem with Precious say it, stop being cowards. Bunch of worthless trash."

Angela spat on the ground then we continued with our journey. Dummy went to her class and I went to mine but it was still tense as everyone was still watching and gossiping. As soon as I walked into my class and everyone just remained silent and stared at me as I went to take a seat. Josh was not on his seat and it was so unlike him to be late for class, but I just assumed that something serious held him up. Samantha and I kept on glancing at each other which was a little bit awkward and her friends kept on pointing at me, until the adorable receptionist came into our class which was a relief.

"Ms. Simons," she called out.

"Here," I raised my hand.

"Mr. Johnsons is calling for you," she replied.

She let the way as I followed her. I knocked on Mr. Johnsons' office.

"Come in," he said with his deep voice.

"Ms. Simons," he took a deep breath "please take a seat."

I sat down, expecting him to mention something about yesterday's drama.

"I've got bad news for you," he said.

"Bad news?" I asked.

"Yes, uhm," he cleared his throat "the school cannot conduct launch an investigation or a disciplinary hearing for your case."

"Exactly what I thought," I replied as I got up from the chair "because she's a politician's daughter and her father in the cash injection of this school right?"

"Precious sit down," he begged me "It's not that, it's…"

"The what is it?" I shouted "me and my mom have no money to bribe you and this useless school. You know what? It's fine, I will get my justice whether this school is involved or not."

"Let me explain," he said.

"No screw you and your school sir," I yelled as I stormed out of his office.

I violently slammed his door that it took everyone's attention, a middle-aged woman stopped and stared at me.

"What's the matter?" the middle-aged woman asked.

I just walked past her without a word coming out of my mouth, I rushed back to my class where I found Mr. Johnsons' assistant busy with the lecture, she was nice lady who looked like she was fresh from university. I slowly walked into class and she looked at me.

"Oh, hello Precious" she gave me one of those 'I feel sorry for you smiles.'

I didn't bother to greet her back, I glanced at Josh's seat and he wasn't in class and I glanced at Samantha who had a sinister smile on her face which showed that she knew exactly why I had my long face on, I grabbed my bag and slowly walked out of class.

"Hey where are you going Ms. Simons," the assistant asked "the lesson has already started."

I remained quiet as I walked out of that class, as this young lecture figured that I was not in the mood she just let me go. It seemed that my drama at this college was far from over as I the school was trying by all means to protect Samantha. As soon as I walked out the gate, I took my phone trying to call my lime green eyed crush but all I could hear was his voice mail.

"Hey, Josh here, I am incredibly not available right now. Please leave your message."

I still didn't understand why would someone say that he's incredibly not available, maybe it was a boy thing to come up with ambitious phrases. I hung up and decided to send a text.

"Hey, where are you? Get back to me when you get this."

I stopped on the bus stop where the bus took a little bit longer, I just stood there watching people pass by and some of the boys waving their hands at me. Some kept on glancing, maybe wishing that they were able to approach me but weren't brave enough to take a step.

"My miserable life," I said out loud as I took a deep sigh.
