The little girl wakes up, her body aching and her nose assaulted by the foul smell of blood, it was fishy, She was covered head to toe with brownish dried blood.
She opened her eyes and what greeted her was a gory sight.
Her eyes welled up once more as she tries her best not to vomit, her heart beating fast, the taste of what she ate lingers in her mouth.
She unsteadily stood up and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, trying to ignore the fishy smell coming from the carcass, she slowly walked out of the house and to the outside world where she was greeted with the scent of dewy leaves and calming gentle breeze
Blowing away the atrocious scent of the rat, the sound of running water calmed her down as she walked towards it.
The sun was rising on the horizon, gracing the world with a beautiful glow, it is the time where most where still asleep, as the cold embrace of night was still present and the sun has just awoken.
But it because apparent that she was not the only one awake to see the wonders as the unique calls of the birds resounded on the forest
She slowly calmed down after seeing and feeling the wonders around her, the gentle cold breeze, the simple clean air, and the sound of rushing water hitting small rocks.
She took this moment to think of what to do next
'There is a dead rat in the house, the scent of blood might attract some creatures to it...'
'I should get rid of the smell first. But I can't completely clean the rat, it's too heavy for me to drag around on land, won't it just get swept away if I wash it on the river?'
'what to do?... What do I have? A sharp rock.. can I continue to search for these creatures to eat?'
she cringed at the thought but then decided
'no.... I got lucky on this one I caught it off guard, besides what if I don't get lucky and I die? No!! I can't go back!!'
Her heart pounding as she imagined her unfortunate demise her mind raced back to the poor caterpillar and and it's torn up body and her tears slowly threatened to fall off her eyes
'CALM DOWN!!!! DON'T CRY!! I can think of another way... No, back to the problem at hand... How should I take care of the weird rat?'
She thought placing her hands to her chest as she took deep breaths
'maybe I can use my stone to cut it up into pieces? That way I can wash it in the river without it being too heavy... And I can use its hide to clean off the blood!! Yes! Why didn't I thought if that?!'
With that she concluded her mini mental session.
She despite her shaky gait entered the house, and once more is greeted with foul stench.
She strengthen her resolve as she walked towards the rat, she walked over and too the sharp rock, dyed brown thanks to the blood.
She stabbed it to the leg of the rat, and although it was jabbed deep it couldn't sever the limb from the body.
She realized that although the rock is good for stabbing, it's not as effective to use for chopping.
I lost my idea so I'll leave it here for now and come back... maybe next year??
