The light of the moon dimly illuminated the city of Acrabe.
Cold winds blew and the few trees that still remain in the City, Whistled loudly. The streets that were usually filled with cars became empty, and the loud streets of Acrabe descends into silence the longer the night went on.
In an average apartment, one young teenager lived alone. His name was Aisor. He had short unkept black hair, with muscles that still resembled a young boy's, and a skinny face. He was by no means unattractive, but certainly the ladies would choose someone else over him if they had the choice.
Aisor stared at the ceiling with a blank expression. His eyes were unfocused, and he seemed to be lost in thought. If another person were to walk in on him, it would've certainly been a bizarre scene. Aisor who had only just finished journaling and was about to go to bed, suddenly froze.
Soon his expression would twist into sadness, happiness or sometimes even anger. Thousands upon thousands of expressions were seen on his face, and the emotions reflected by these expressions seem to come at a random.
But finally after 15 minutes, his eyes finally regained focus, and the endless roulette of expressions came to a stop.
At first there was no expression, but not too long after a frown appeared on his face. He slowly looked around the room in order to confirm a few things, but seeing the familiar yet unfamiliar desk he knew this was not an illusion, instead this was truly reality.
He solemnly turned towards the window, and stared into the stars. "I do not understand. You have given me a body of a young boy which can not even handle 5% of my soul. In a months time, I will self destruct." He knew nothing in this world was truly coincidental, even an event like this. Someone or something had planned this, but the more he thought about this the more he didn't understand it.
Silence filled the room, but only after a few moments, this silence was broken with a sigh, "Sigh. There isn't a point pondering this question any longer."
"It seems clear that my goal of immortality cannot be accomplished in this world anyways so I can only make the best worst move."
Usually he was not the type of person to give up or to even give in to his circumstances, but this was definitely a special case. Firstly, the Dao here was too underdeveloped. The most powerful weapon on this world at the moment was something called a Nuclear Bomb, and the focus of this Dao was using external tools in order to enhance the weak human body, an example of this was guns and body armor.
This was vastly different from the Dao in his world which consisted of enhancing the weak human body to heights that were unimaginable to this world. Things such as Nuclear Bombs would be playthings in his old world as any talented man who worked hard could reach that level.
Now he was confident with time this world's Dao, Science, could match up with his old world's it would need many more years, and even with his knowledge of another world he could not confidently say in a month's time, he could develop a way in order to firstly make his body strong enough to withstand his soul, secondly evolve it to a point where it could compete with his old Dao, and thirdly then using this newly evolved "Science" to achieve immortality.
So, now just like in this world's game of Chess, even in the worst possible position, there is always a best move he could still make.
"It seems like for now, I can only give up pursuing immortality." He said sighing.
He once again looked towards the night skies. It was a habit of his. His eyes pierced through the clouds into the vast darkness. The moonlight shone back almost as if it acknowledged him.
His frown slowly loosened up as he appreciated the beauty of the night.
In this silence, thousands of plans, and ideas came to his mind.
After a few moments of this, his eyes refocused on the reflection on the window, showing his own familiar yet unfamiliar appearance, "Young man, I understand that in a way I'm still you, but I cannot deny that I've taken your life."
"Having seen my memories, you have became me, whilst the opposite is also true. I cannot pursue my ambition, so because you have allowed me to live for another month, I will repay my debt to you."
"I will pursue your goal!" He paused for slight moment, and his lips curled into a small smile. "The grand dream of becoming the greatest gamer to exist."
"And, since I am you and you are me, I will be borrowing your name." Aisor turned away from the window and looked down at his forearm.
"Well let's start with the first step then shouldn't we?"
Aisor stepped off the bed, and got into a push-up position.
Shake….shake…shake.
His arms shook ferociously without even doing a single push up. Aisor, seeing this, sighed, "This is definitely going to be a pain in the ass."
...
"Haa, Haa, haa" Aisor panted heavily. He had just finished his workout, which mainly consisted of Squats, and push ups, yet it had completely drained all of his energy.
"Haa, 50 push, haa, ups and 100 squats." Aisor who was still heavily panting muttered, "How pathetheic," Back in his old world, 50 push ups and 100 squats was child's play. Literally. This was what children would do for fun, yet in the state he was in right now, this was probably one of the hardest times his current body had ever felt.
He looked down on his now swollen arms, and legs, "But, this is needed or else I will deteriorate even faster." He thought.
"But with that out of the way, it's time for step 2, purchasing the VR machine." With great effort, Aisor went to his desk, and opened up Mazo, the company which produced the VR machines. Quickly without reading anything, Aisor scrolled to the very bottom of the screen, where he knew that was where the VR machines were. This was because the old Aisor would often times check this app too see if the price would drop or if there was a discount, but with only 2 weeks of this machine being released the old Aisor, never had a chance to buy it.
But, there was great reason for this, if he did buy it, even with his current balance, it would only leave him with 50 dollars to his name, which would definitely not be enough to pay rent, food, and other expenses. But now that he had a timer on him, it didn't matter if they were going to go homeless, because he would be died or dying in that current moment.
So, for that reason without any hesitation, Aisor clicked on purchase now. After filling out a bunch of credit card information, the Machine will be arriving at tomorrow noon, "Hmm... It seems like the express version of this was really worth it,"
If someone else were to hear this they'll probably start screaming at him for his foolishness. Now with 10 dollars to his name, he probably wouldn't even be able to purchase good food for the next day, but this was a man who had lived for hundreds of years in a much crueler world than this one.
Perhaps he has a plan?
