Chapter 42: Send Off

[ Autumn P.O.V ] [ That same morning...]

I went threw my usual stuff for mornings. Like brushing my teeth while contemplating the menial tasks of the day head. But once I got changed into some skin tight blue jeans and a dark forest green blouse I was starting to leave our bedroom to head into the hallway to go head to the kitchen. As I started to walk I felt myself start to feel myself almost yelp while nearly flinching at the feeling of a finger rolling up from my lower back to my shoulder blades.

Then quickly came into view that Changer Luke was the one greeting me smiling " Good morning, Luna Autumn! I see you look quite lovely in the morning. " He had told me his room was three rooms down from ours but I didn't even care all that much from that information. I felt the need to start to walk faster threw the halls for the purpose to get away from him since by touching me like that he didn't understand the respect and personal space everyone has a right to. Being the Luna of his own pack he serves should get me at least as much to where I don't have to feel like I'm being treated so strangely.

He tried to keep up with me though and said acting like he wasn't trying to adjust his speed to keep up " Luna Autumn, it has been a while since I first got to meet you. I was just wondering if you had any questions or things you want to talk about? " I felt his brown eyes seemed to analyze me but his face did try to portray him trying to be more friendly.

" I'd appreciate it if you'd not touch me, but I would like to know if you'd tell me about what exactly it is you do when it comes to trying to train spy's? " he beamed a bit at me and said still in a similar suit as the last time I had seen him while completely dodging the fact he touched me

" I'd be glad to, but I would like to start with saying that I mostly work in architecture for my job. I normally do training in public or isolated situations to work in the field. " that explained why he wore suits and looked like he worked for a company. He insisted on continuing to fill me in as we made it into the kitchen and joined everyone. I slowly got a better idea of what his overall job life was like, but he said he hadn't gotten any work yet given to him in the spying situation since he has been here as of lately. But he did tell me he did an undercover information gathering thing for Leo to be Alpha Andrews inmate.

This surprised me since I had no idea about this move at all and wondered what could make him have to stop and he simply said that things weren't going anywhere so we decided to stop. It did concern me that Leo didn't tell me though.

It was when I said I was going to walk to mine and Leo's room to work on some paper work that he followed me like he was trying his best to win my favor. I had a feeling since it seems his and Leo's relationship isn't exactly the best it made sense he'd want to get on my side more so that he'd either could bother Leo more. That or because he just wanted to start off on good terms for me to keep him in a job.

As we got closer to our room I took notice that he was looking at me as I was opening the door saying that I could continuing talking later, but just as I started to open it up a little. I felt a hand caressed my up the side of my thigh threw my jeans. I started to exclaim surprised and getting defensive looking at him " What the hell do you think you're-?! " I stopped taking in a quick breath when I felt his right hand starting to move some of my hair from my neck and off my shoulder. It brushed my skin as I noticed him taking a good long look at my mark.

I quickly pulled away and moved away finding the words coming back into my throat after noticing his eyes almost seemed sad looking at my mark.

" Explain you're self right now! " I felt very uncomfortable but before I could get angry with him he said still looking at my mark in an almost envious and sad tone that matched how bleak and vague his features held.

" So he really did find his mate then, he's a luck guy. Honestly I'd use to make a joke with him when I'd see him getting a little irritated seeing Jay here with Beta Nick. " I slowly started to feel my nerves calming as I listened

" I would say ' Your own Beta has his mate before his Alpha! That must be pretty hard to watch, but then again I'll probably have mine before the time you'd get yours old man! ' then he said ticked off ' The day that happens is the day I buy you a car, and besides, like you're in any better shape than me. ' " he started to say looking down from my face and his eyes glanced at my mark

" I honestly was trying to play around to try and mess with him since he doesn't have many friends that come here that know what it's like to go threw it or don't have to feel like that anymore. " " But now, he really did get his mate before me. " I started to asked remembering how this gives him the right to touch me like that as I exclaimed

" I get that you're upset, but what gives you the idea that you can go ahead and touch me like that? " he started to apologize since he said " When I herd the rumors about you one of them said that you are also a werewolf. " " I thought to make sure to test it I'd let my wolf mess with you to provoke your wolf to make its presence known and for him to immediately back off once getting my answer. " I scowled at him still not getting a good enough reason. He sighed and started to look nervous like I was going to tell Leo and was going to be in for it.

I then thought about his reasoning since werewolf and werewolf couples aren't very common things so curiosity made sense. In fact, that was probably why he has been so analyzing me ever since he came here. He probably was trying to tell by observation alone.

I then said calming down " I'm fine now, but don't do that again or you won't get off so easily. Besides, I think you'll get your mate at some point. " he had a small relieved smile but then he sighed and said almost in a soft sullen voice

" Thank you for you understanding Luna Autumn, but I'm afraid the Moon Goddess might have forsaken me a long time ago. " I tilted my head and asked " Forsaken you? " he then started to smile weakly " Well, uh, I'm not really into the things she has made for her other children. I'm into guys and I fear because of this the Moon Goddess herself has shunned me for it. In turn, refusing to make me my chosen mate of my own. " It had just hit me and the glass broke when I realized that in the giant book about the Moon Goddess it did say something about the mates not being gender specific because if it were to be a man werewolf then he would get a woman. Then a woman werewolf would get herself a man.

It hadn't came into my mind about a werewolf who was gay and the idea of whether or not the Moon Goddess has to make a mate that could prolong a family or a mate that was custom based on what would make that werewolf happy throughout his life. I felt myself curse myself at not considering such a situation and questioned how hard it must be for Luke to not know if he has a mate or could find happiness. Then I wondered if Leo was aware of Luke's situation and didn't like him because of it being considered a sin or not or going against his religion. But it slowly became clear that as I supported and talked more with Luke the more I started to understand things like flirting before was just in good fun and to mess around since Leo knows that he's not a threat to me.

[ Leo P.O.V ]

I was sweating and panting trying to calm my breathing as I proceeded to have Alpha Andrews who I had beaten up for a while till I had calmed down and regained my composure. But I had a third guard come to inform me that Alpha Ian's three cars worth of soldiers and him will be arriving outside the jail house in a couple minutes. I looked at him and tried walk aside for the guards to get him ready as I had mind-linked Beta Nick to bring all the papers and evidence we have gather and prepare for handing over evidence.

[ Alpha Andrews P.O.V ]

The beating stopped in front of that bared cage that I hadn't stepped out of in at least two to three weeks. Once I did I was sitting on the floor on my knees feeling dizzy and the flickering light didn't make it any easier to help. A guard reached above my head and began to pull my left arm behind my back. Now I understood where this was going. I was being cuffed. The kind that were make for both werewolves and humans alike. They both were metal that worked. Then he cuffed my left wrist and as they were getting my right behind my back I noticed that for once I was going to see outside this infernal cage. They proceeded to get me to stand up and begin to put one of those weighted straight jackets and placed it over me. The weight was designed to where if one were to try and shift they wouldn't be able to and if they tried after so much time it would cause them to have a hard time breathing even if they managed to shift.

They started to have the three guards move to have one each side of me and Alpha Leo lead the way for all of us to go. As we walked out of that glass sealed door quickly sounds started to slowly come back with the scents starting to seem overwhelming how hard they were flooding to me. My eyes were trying to adjust to the light but it was slow going as my eyes managed to try not to strain themselves not so hard.

We proceeded back up those stairs and started to head back threw those seven worth of floors in this place. Each floor made us get closer to the main floor where the police congrats. Once we got to that floor stairs of other people were on me as we got to that front door to get ready to leave.

Alpha Leo walked outside first I assume to talk with Alpha Ian who had came all this way with his own cars to take me away. Then it was a shove from the guy behind me that motioned me to start moving for the door. One of the guys on my side opened the doors and as we stepped out my eyes and face were assaulted by the bright sunlight that I transitioned into so suddenly that my eyes squinted to take a couple steps.

Once they adjusted I took note as I was being escorted with two guards on my right and left. Behind me and now one in front of me as I got closer to one of Alpha Ian's police force cars. I looked around taking in the view of outside as the light from the sun created a warmth that I hadn't felt on my skin for some time. The sound of the multiple police cars engines running with the low sounds like that of the wind I nearly hadn't noticed. It was when one of Alpha Ian's police officers came over and started to drag me to one of the police cars did I pay attention to their existence. They turned me over from a supine and then turning to a prone perch on the back of the police car, I noticed Alpha Ian the middle aged man stood at the head of the car staring at me.

As I looked at this tall built man with pale skin, she shook his head at seeing another Alpha being treated like another criminal. I caught a glimpse away from him as I was being pulled off the car of Alpha Leo and I noticed that Autumn had came walking and was by his side as both of them watched from the sidelines. Once I was done looking at them the cop opened the rear door of his cruiser and pushed my head down while shoving me into the backseat roughly. I was calm. I knew what was next. The guards that had me surrounded were now leaving as they headed back into the jail for their shifts. Alpha Leo and Alpha Ian were both Alpha's I had high respect for in what feels like a not so distant past before all of this.

I used want to strive to make them proud to have me as one of them. To work hard with Alpha Leo to show Alpha Ian and the other Alpha's that I was capable of being responsible and a very strong leader. I wanted to be as fair-minded and down to earth as Alpha Ian but was too prideful to admit that Alpha Leo had more of a work ethic than me. But with both of them now seeing me like this. It's like they see me just as much a rogue than an Alpha. From the view of the window of the back seat the other Alpha's and people I know seem so far away, and in that distance I realized the contingent nature of being an Alpha. The title can be as fleeting and easy to give up when you had had a hard time with it engraved on your life. What would give any of us Alpha's a reason to care for each other especially when one can easily be changed.

I lost to Alpha Leo, and now Alpha Ian and his olive green eyes solemnly casting an almost apathetic look at my fall from grace and soon my fallout. I watched out the window at Alpha Ian walking up to Alpha Leo and Autumn as they appeared to talk, most likely about me as I saw his Beta with a yellow envelope and handing it off to Alpha Ian. I could only guess what was its contents as his forces started to fill the cars was it appears we were going to head out.

I waited in silence as what was happening outside felt like it took a long time. No one had said a word to me since I came out of that jail house. No one wanted to talk to a man awaiting his fate, they wanted to leave a man like that to himself. It was understandable, I would have done the same thing. In fact, this whole situation. Everything that Alpha Leo has done. I would have probably have done it too if the roles were reversed. If he had lost and I had won I would have put him in my pack jail. I would have treated him the same way and would have had that same look given to him as he'd be in the back of a police car.

I wanted to wait in silence, a redneck guy with shaggy red hair covered slightly by a police cap, moved toward the passenger side of the car and opened the front door. He folded himself in and looked back at me over his left shoulder. I sat silently, with a look of a man in deep contemplation and a bit of a cocky look since the idea of checking on me back here was a meaningless task at this point.

The cop turned back around and began to write something on a clipboard. Finally he looked back he stopped looking back at me as we sat in silence waiting for the driver to get into the seat. I was wincing because the handcuffs were beginning to hurt my wrists, but I was also tried to ignore them despite my still fresh burned hands and body. It may have been the moment when the guard finally pulled my second arm behind my back and tightened the handcuffs.

In moments like then and now did I realize I put myself into this kind of situation. These men now had control of my body; even my own hands had become useless to me. More than that, they had control of my destiny—or at least my immediate fate. As the driver finally opened the car door and started to follow the other cars that made up a line formation in front of this car. As we were starting to move I couldn't help keep my gaze on Alpha Leo and Autumn as we started to leave. The next time I'm going to see them will be in court and I already couldn't wait.
