A Bold Move

Anna arrived at the spicy noodle shop ten minutes earlier so she could get settled down in time for her plot.

She can't let her enemies catch her off guard.

At the same time, her mother, called out Sam and Susan's parents to have an urgent word with them when she was sure that they'd be alone.

She can't let anyone get suspicious.

---

Outside the restaurant, a taxi pulled over and out stepped Sam in his brown leather jacket and blue jean trousers. At the same time, a black sedan car pulled over next to him in the parking lot.

"Sam?" Susan called out from the driver's seat in surprise as she turned off her car's engine. "What are you doing here?" she asked, getting out of the car.

Sam frowned slightly. "I came here to see Anna. What are you doing here?"

"I came here to see Anna too," Susan revealed with a small smile. "She invited me."

Sam watched her lock her car door before walking with her towards the noodle shop. "It seems like she has something to tell the both of us."

"I won't be surprised cause that's typical Anna." Susan almost rolled her eyes. She was tired of hearing her best friend say she had something to tell them when it wasn't anything important.

Every time she made that statement, Anna usually talked about her eyesight, how she wished she could see or how her doctor said her sight was making progress and could have a chance.

The two of them were already tired of hearing things like that, but Sam knew that it had nothing to do with now.

"Well, I think this time around it's different."

"How so?" Susan inquired as she met his gaze.

"She was so mad at me over the phone for not checking up on her. I have never seen her that mad, and I'm sure she was serious when she wished me death."

Susan almost rolled her eyes. "How would you have remembered to call her when we were busy going out on dates."

"Shhh…" Sam quickly shushed her with a finger on his lips. "Don't let anyone hear that as there are enough rumours about us already."

Almost immediately, lines appeared on Susan's forehead. "Wait a minute, are you afraid of Anna finding out about us? Do you still care about her?"

"Of course, I still care about her, she is my girlfriend," Sam said as a matter of fact.

Susan almost had a good laugh. "And I am your what? Whore?" she asked, glaring at him.

"Oh! please don't start now, Susan. And don't try to complicate issues here by making suggestions like that. Let's go in and hear what Anna has to say." With that, Sam opened the door to the noodle store for them.

As they stepped inside, they turned their head towards their left and saw a lone woman before making their way over.

"Anna?" they called out together and the lone woman tilted her head to the side. It wasn't Anna.

"We are sorry," Sam quickly apologized on their behalf as he instinctively took Susan's hand in his. This scene did not go unnoticed by Anna who was sitting inside the shop towards their left.

A smirk turned up at the corner of her lips as she adjusted the thick sunshades over her eyes and waited for whenever the cheating couple were ready to come to her side. But to make things easier, she raised her hand and called for the waiter.

"Waiter."

Her familiar voice ended up drawing the attention of Sam and Susan who quickly recognized it and found their way to her side.

"Anna," Susan was the first to call out to her. She released her hand from Sam's hold and went to sit next to her before taking her hand. "It's Susan."

"I can tell from your voice," Anna forced a smile. From her tone, those two were sure she was really pissed at them.

"How have you been?" Susan tried again with a fake smile. Even though Anna couldn't see her, she was afraid of how sensitive she would be as a result of her annoyance hence, the need to play her role properly.

"Where you left me." As Anna delivered the answer, she caught Sam who was standing across from her staring at her and sighed to herself. "Sam, you don't really care to have a seat?" she asked as she snatched her arm from Susan's grip and placed them on the table.

Instantly, Susan let out a gasp of shock as Sam's brows furrowed. "How did you know I was here?" he asked without masking the surprise in his tone.

"First, I heard two different footsteps approach me when Susan called out to me. Secondly, I can feel your shadow looming over me. And lastly, I can smell your cologne."

With every answer she gave, Anna dropped a hint which those two daft people couldn't pick up.

If they were smart enough, they would have understood what happened in Susan's bedroom that day she almost caught them.

Sam had been standing in front of Susan that time, so it was obvious she knew someone was there and secondly, his cologne filled that room, so she must have recognized.

And let's not talk about Sam's ringing tone that ratted out the grand possibility of him being in that room and sneaking out without his phone.

Those two surely did not consider all of this.

"Oh!" Sam exclaimed carelessly as he pulled out a chair for himself and sat down. "How are you? Susan and I met outside the noodle shop. I didn't know you invited her."

"Well, you two offended me," Anna replied as she picked up the cup of water in front of her and drank from it effortlessly.

Sam and Susan saw that as an increasingly insane worth of progress while on the other hand, it was a mistake on Anna's part.

Seeing that Anna paid her no mind, Susan stood up, walked over to Sam's side and pulled out the seat next to him.

Even Sam was shocked by her bold move. What was she thinking by coming to sit next to him?
