The Sun And Moon 1

The infinite blue sky above promising sunshine and the big fluffy white clouds adding a touch of ecstasy. The sky invites the eyes to play as ever arcing birds upon wings. The thin clouds slowly drift apart, presenting a beautiful sky above.

Serenity's behind the big rock watching the people again like her everyday routine, since then Calypso always followed and interrupted her.

"When I've luckily had legs maybe I'll do that! I'll dance until I'm tired because just by watching people dance makes me a little bit happy—." He stopped talking when Serenity suddenly glared at him.

"Why are you always here and watching what they're doing?" Calypso asked.

"Because when I had legs like theirs, I would do all the things that they're doing," Serenity answered.

Tears suddenly flowed freely from her eyes. It came without a warning. The tears continued to seep down Serenity's cheeks but she didn't sob. She wiped away her tears.

"You know Serenity..." Calypso tapped the big rock and looked at Serenity seriously.

"Your eyes are so sad," he said.

"But all I can say is, don't be so sad because expect something unexpected, maybe one of these days you'll have legs?" He said, smiling at Serenity.

"Also you." Serenity said.

"Me? I just said that because you were very serious a while ago, I'm happy having this tail of mine because I want to serve Poseidon."

"All right, I'll leave you now. I know you always want to be alone." And Calypso swam away leaving Serenity alone.

A warm breeze swirls around her hair sending it in all different directions. Serenity suddenly turned her gaze to the girl and boy holding each other's hand. Slowly their lips came together; they embraced; then drew apart, and holding hands, stood gazing at each other.

She decided to go home now so she started to swim so that she could go back to Anthemoesia. "Why am I here again?" She's back again to the gloomy place.

"Serenity."

"What is it that you need for me?" Serenity asked the woman.

"I told you I know what you wanted, Serenity." The woman said while looking at her straight in the eye.

"What I wanted? So what about it?" Serenity curiously asked.

"You want it to come true, right?" The woman said.

"Of course, who doesn't want to get what they want, right—?" Serenity's words got cut off when the woman suddenly touched her hair and played with it.

In just a snap everything came back to normal like what happened before but Serenity was even more surprised when she saw the closeness of Calypso's face to hers.

"Hey, Serenity! I've been shaking you but you're not moving. What's wrong with you?" Calypso said while looking at Serenity worriedly.

"Nothing, don't mind me. We should head to Anthemoesia now." And then they started going on their way.

Like her everyday routine, she started to swim when it's getting dark so that she could take a glimpse again of the beautiful moon. The slight hardness of her expression was lost in the dim blue twilight which still waited for the moon.

Passing the free-swimming sea cucumber, a completely transparent who has a gorgeous bright pink color, making it quite the deep sea sight.

It's so beautiful under the sea but Serenity still wants to try having legs and do the things she wants to do. Serenity swam upwards so that she could take a better look at the moon. Under the beautifully moonlit sky, she curiously looked at that serene ball of white light.

"How do you shine so bright on the darkest of nights?"

"Sometimes it comes out of nowhere

An overwhelming sense of grief washes over me

I become disheartened, irritated, hopeless, depressed, and hurt."

She felt lonely again and tears started flowing freely from her eyes. She suddenly hid behind a large rock near her when she suddenly heard some splashing of the seawater as if someone was approaching her.

She's not wrong because Zephyr's watching her and accidentally heard her sing. His blue glowing eyes, like Serenity's eyes. Zephyr's drawn by her melodious song.

Once a person heard a siren singing, they would be enchanted; so they had no choice but to land and seek out the singers.

'Did he heard me sing? What will I do now? I need him to get back to sanity.'

Serenity took a small rock to throw at Zephyr that's still approaching her so that he would get back to his senses but then Zephyr suddenly stumbled. Serenity tried to stop laughing.

"Huh? What happened?" Zephyr asked curiously, wondering what happened to him

"Yeah, he doesn't know what happened." Serenity whispered to herself.

"Where is she?" Zephyr asked while looking everywhere, finding Serenity.

"I thought I could finally get a chance to talk to her." He said disappointedly.

Serenity peeked to see what Zephyr looked like. His wide-set yellow eyes met hers briefly, then Serenity immediately looked away in surprise.

'Earlier his eyes were blue but why is it yellow now? Is this because he heard me sing so he adapted the color of my eyes?'

"H-hey! You can come out now, I'm not going to hurt you." Even though he said those words, Serenity still didn't trust him.

"I guess I did scare you..." Zephyr said sadly.

"It's fine, I just want to talk to you even though you're hiding there..." He said.

"But I want you to know that you caught my attention since that time..." He said.

"That time?" Serenity asked.

"Finally you talk, yeah that time, when the moon shines brightly and its brightness hits your face." He said.

"Why you—?!" Serenity's surprised because her thoughts were right that someone was watching her.

"Hey! Listen to me first, I love watching the moon and I didn't intend to watch you. It's  just that, I can't stop myself from looking at you..." Zephyr reasoned.

"You're just so beautiful." He said.

"I love watching the moon too." Serenity said.

"The moon's so calm and also it reflects beauty despite being imperfect in appearance." He said.

"Did I scare you?" He asked Serenity.

"Well, not really I'm just shocked and also I'm not used to the fact that some people will see me and talk to me." Serenity answered honestly.

"Ah is that so... Do you know the story about the sun and moon?" Serenity stayed quiet.

'A story about the sun and moon? I didn't hear anything about it. Maybe it's a story that people made up?'

"If you don't, then I'll tell you the story," Zephyr said.

"There was once a moon, that's so gorgeous, that only the stars could see but the sun couldn't.

The sun's so bright, he shines so brightly. The moon was bright, yet she only showed her face at night

She was untouchable, surrounding herself in darkness. The sun would do anything to catch a sight of the Moon shining brightly in the night sky—."

"I'm right, Oh come on Zephyr you're always staying up late." A woman's voice said. Serenity covered her mouth not letting any words come out of it.

"Desiree," Zephyr said.

"We should head back home now it's getting cold here," Desiree said.

"Argh, why are you always interrupting what I'm doing? You should head home now. I'll follow you in a minute." He said.

"You should be," Desiree said.

"Sorry I didn't finish telling you the story and I still didn't introduce myself, my bad. I'm Zephyr." He said.

'I want to know what happened to the sun and moon. Will the sun take a glimpse of the moon even in such a short time?'

'Zephyr? I think I heard that name before. Oh! I remember now.'

"I'll be going now, sorry for scaring and interrupting you a while ago," He said.

"So you're that guy." Serenity whispered to herself but Zephyr can still hear it.

"That guy?" He asked.

"Ah, no never mind by the way I'm Serenity." Serenity didn't hear a reply after what she said, she didn't know that Zephyr already left.

I took a sudden glimpse of the moon and headed back to Anthemoesia.
