Are We There Yet?

-----Yui's POV

A sudden large bump on the road broke me out of my sleep as I slowly open my eyes to see light had now broken into the caravan, signaling that it was morning. I lifted my head up from Kaede's shoulder only to see that she had passed out herself. "Not tired, huh?" I chose to gently rest my head back on her shoulder as I move my gaze to the other adventurers across from us. They were all still asleep, leaving me to be the only one awake it seems.

Olivia: "Good morning lady Ellen."

Nevermind. The soft spoken voice coming from my left only meant that I wasn't the only one awake. Turning my head ever so slightly, I could see Olivia smiling away at me.

Yui: "Good morning."

I continued with a soft reply back, not wanting to wake the others up, especially Kaede.

Yui: "Did you sleep well?"

Olivia: "As good as I could. The walls were quite bumpy so I ended up waking up several times."

She only reminded me when my parents used to drive me to school back when we lived further away. I always tend to rest my head up on the window, only for it to keep bouncing my head, it's funny now but it was an unpleasant feeling.

Yui: "You could've rested against me you know."

Olivia: "I couldn't do that to you my lady. That's way out of line; disrespectful."

Yui: "Hey. Right now on this trip, I'm Yui. So don't worry about Ellen von Leinhart okay? You can rest on me if you like."

I pat my lap that was still covered by the blanket Kaede draped over me, offering this spot to her.

Olivia: "Still though, I-"

Yui: "We're friends right? Friends do this sort of stuff, so come on."

I pat my lap once more, urging her to accept my offer.

Olivia: "...Okay. But let me know if it's uncomfortable for you, or if I'm too heavy."

Yui: "Sure thing."

I really didn't want to reply like it's fine. I feel like accepting her condition would be the correct choice in regards to Olivia. Sure enough, she slowly adjusted herself to lay down on her side. I could tell just how careful she was to rest her head on my lap, not wanting to hurt me, but all it did was make me chuckle a bit until finally, little by little, more of her head's weight rested on my lap.

Yui: "There you go. Not so bad right?"

Olivia: "Y-yes!"

She was still a little cramped as her legs were bent, but at least she looked more comfortable than how she was before. I gently rest my hand atop of her head, gently stroking through her hair softly, giving her the famous lap pillow treatment.

Olivia: "L-lady Ell-"

Yui: "Shhh~ And it's Yui remember?"

Olivia: "Uhm. Yes... Yui."

For the first time, she addressed me somewhat in a casual way, however her tone was still polite, but at least this is progress.

Yui: "Comfy?"

Olivia: "Yes."

Yui: "That's good. Get some more rest while you can."

I continue to pat her head softly as she slowly drifts off to sleep in a matter of minutes. I didn't notice since I was asleep, but she has a little bit of a snore it seems. Nothing aggressive, but more so like heavy breathing. Doesn't seem like it's waking anyone up thankfully.

Now finally alone, I'm left wondering how Kaede's feeling. Sure she's still asleep right now, but I was thinking more so about her thirst. She didn't drink any of my blood yesterday, so surely she'll be feeling something now right? And if that's the case then I hope we can have time to stretch our legs, maybe finding a spot behind some trees to quickly get it done. It's not like I can bring it up in here as well with so many people around... wait.

I just thought of a brilliant idea that might come in handy during situations like this. Maybe if I can find a bottle that isn't transparent, maybe I could store some of my blood inside it, that way Kaede can drink blood while still around others. In hindsight, I should've brought this up with Kaede before we left, but I'll be sure to bring it up next time we have the chance.

There's something about this though, Olivia's head on my lap. It's been over 15 years now since I've given a lap pillow to anyone, and instead of Kaede being the one, instead it's Olivia... I wonder if she'll be upset about it.

Roughly what seemed to be an hour, the caravans suddenly come to a halt, leaving everyone in ours to awaken besides Olivia who was still comfortable on my lap. She really must've been tired.

Caravan Driver: "Wake up! We'll be continuing in 30 minutes so stretch your legs or what have you."

Hearing that we only have 30 minutes, I move my head from Kaede's shoulder and gently nudge Olivia.

Yui: "Hey, Olive."

Olivia: "Mmmmmm~"

Yui: "Come on, you got to stretch your legs. You can sleep more soon."

Olivia: "Yes yes~"

It was out of nowhere, but her polite tone disappeared, but that might be because of her groggy attitude having just been woken up. Either way I counted this as another win.

Kaede: "Sleep well?"

Yui: "Shouldn't I be saying that to you? haha."

Kaede: "I got bored okay? And plus... It was a good distraction from..."

Yui: "Ah~ I see."

So I was right that she was hungry. She gave me the same guilty, innocent look that she makes every time she wants to drink my blood. But to think she slept in order to distract herself from it. I guess that's the same thing for when you're hungry right? Olivia by this point had sat up from me, wiping her eyes before adjusting her clothes.

Yui: "Let's step out first."

Kaede: "M-hmm."

Olivia: "Ah, I'll be with you two soon! I need to- Well I guess there's not really any toilets out here huh."

Perfect! I was thinking of an excuse for us to be alone, away form Olivia but she made the excuse for us. That being said I wouldn't mind relieving myself as well, but Kaede's problem comes first and foremost.

We step out from the caravans, with everyone spreading out in their own little groups. Olivia ended up bolting behind a secluded tree, away from everyone with Kaede and I heading deep into the forest where it appeared to be the most thick.

Yui: "Hey, Kaede."

Kaede: "Hmm?"

Yui: "I thought of a way for you to control your thirst around others. What if we used a bottle for me to store some blood for you? One that isn't see-through."

Kaede: "No!"

Huh? I thought she'd be all for this idea, but the way she said "no" sounded very firm, like there was no room for discussion.

Kaede: "I- I prefer doing it directly. If that's still fine with you."

Yui: "O-oh."

I found my face feeling hotter as she said that. So, she also secretly enjoyed doing it with me? So I'm not the only weirdo that get's pleasure from it?

Yui: "Mmm! I prefer it this way as well."

Unbuttoning the top button of my shirt has been the que for her to start, as she immediately moved me behind a tree, sandwiching me between her and the tree as her mouth draws closer to my neck. It's always this moment where I wait in anticipation for her to pierce into my neck that gets me going as I can't see her with my neck tilted like this. Excitement courses through my body with every breath she makes as I wait for it, waiting for her to-

Finally I felt it, her fangs sinking deep into my neck. It was almost like an electric shock, causing me to let out a short but sharp moan until I could finally hear the familiar sound of her swallowing my blood. I can't help up but let out a sigh of relief as I feel like my body's slowly growing lighter and lighter with every gulp she makes. I gently start brushing her long hair with my fingers as it's become somewhat of a routine of mine to let her know that I'm still alive and conscious.

Olivia: "Lady Ell- I mean Yui! Kaede!"

I could hear Oliva calling in the distance, but sounded far enough away that we should be fine. Plus we're quite deep in the forest so it may be too dangerous for her. For me though, I felt safe in Kaede's arms. I don't think anything in the forest would manage to hurt me if Kaede's by my side.

Olivia: "Where are you!"

She sounded to be a bit panicked, but it's not like I can yell out back to her, not until Kaede is- Suddenly, she licks up my neck, sending shivers down my spine as I hold back my moans to not give away out location. Is she done yet? While thinking so, she lets out a playful giggle, confirming my earlier thoughts on her enjoying this as well.

Yui: "Such a tease."

Kaede: "Just wanted to see some cute reactions is all fufu~"

She kisses my neck once more as I feel more energy being sucked away from my knees as they begin to tremble.

Kaede: "Done~"

I didn't realize, but did she just heal me with her lips? Usually she would place her hand over my neck, but now that I check my neck, there was no lingering pain or any blood coming out.

Kaede: "Thought I'd try something different."

Yui: "I loved it."

I give her a small peck on the lips that would only last a fraction of a second before sliding out between Kaede and the tree.

Yui: "Come on, Olivia's getting worried."

Kaede: "I'll be sure to do it like that next time then."

Yui: "Mmm!"

We grab hold of each other's hand before walking back out of the forest in the direction of Olivia's yells.

Olivia: "Ah! There you are"

Yui: "Sorry, we were just..."

Kaede: "We followed a rabbit and got distracted."

Just like the other times, Kaede expertly thought up a lie on the spot, it's as if it's second nature to her. Honestly, it's kind of scary sometimes how natural she makes it look.

Olivia: "I understand, haha. Rabbits sure are cute."

Kaede: "Mhmm!"

Seems like she took the bait.

We stretched our legs some more before finally, our 30 minutes were up as we were called back onto the caravans, with each of us taking the same seats as before.
