11. Decisions, Decisions

Why was this supposed power of mine so important to everyone?

I can't even use Genjutsu... I have a scroll that explains basic Genjutsu techniques, but I haven't even contemplated trying it out yet. Thinking about it all just confuses me. Genjutsu just seems so darn technical!

______

I lied my head down upon my pillow and felt my forehead; it was a little warmer than usual. Maybe I was getting worn down from all of this stress. It doesn't surprise me the least.

I block out the thought of Orochimaru and Kabuto along with all the other thoughts of what had happened to me since I'd been here and just let my mind become blank. I could feel my chest rising and falling as I paced my breathing.

'Knock knock'

I sat up quickly as I hear the faint sound against the door. I get up and open the door, slowly poking my head out to see who it is. Suddenly, Susuke's face is surprisingly close to mine. I quickly pull my head back in, blushing slightly, and open the door wider.

"Your so weird sometimes Tila," Sasuke says as he walks in and goes to sit down on my bed. I shut the door behind him. "Yeah right, why was your face so close to my door!" I mumble back. He just looks at me. The small smirk that was on his lips fades.

I walk back over to my bed and sit down, crossing my legs as I shuffle back up to lean against the bedhead. "Sasuke, can I ask you something.." He looks up at me "Yeah" His gaze holding mine.

"I just wonder, those eyes of yours... When I look into them, I see... Your pain too and I.." As the last of my words leave my lips, he breaks eye contact and looks off in the distance.

"When I was younger, my older brother killed my entire clan" There was a moments pause as I took in what he was saying... He continues "The only reason I'm alive is to avenge my clan by killing my older brother, Itachi" His emotionless front hardens even more than usual.

"Sasuke I.." He locks eyes with me again and I decide to not finish my sentence.

"We have more important things to worry about Tila, how are we going to get you out of here?" He takes the moment to avert the conversation and I let out a little sigh. I don't blame him. Maybe it's a subject better left alone.

"Oh.. that reminds me," I had completely forgotten about the eavesdropping I had done earlier. "I was wandering around the east wing earlier and heard Kabuto and Orochimaru talking.." I lowered my voice to a whisper.

"They said that someone was coming to get me Sasuke.." The room holds its silence for a moment as I bite my lip slightly, but I go on. "They said that they would be away for three days but would heighten security on me when they returned," I finished.

His facial expressions didn't change when I told him this interesting news. "So we have a chance. It's now or never by the looks of it. We will make our move tomorrow night then," He says intently in his cold, husky voice.

"Okay then, I figured as much huh," I said back as his cold eyes shift slightly "Tila, why do they want you so badly," He says "I feel there's something you're still not telling me". I bite my bottom lip a little more. I wasn't expecting him to be so interested in that topic.

"It's not like that. All I know is that I apparently have some sort of ability... A Kekke Genkai that I haven't awoken yet, a powerful Genjutsu of some kind.." I say looking down at my hands, not really knowing how to explain.

"Don't give up. My Sharingan didn't awaken straight away, either. " The sound of Susuke's voice pulls my face back up. "I won't," I smile sideward slightly. We both went quiet for a minute. I use the opportunity of silence to lie down on my side with my head resting on my hands and continue to look at Sasuke up and down. His shoulders are broad and his white shirts lose with his bare chest exposed.

He looks over at me and then lies down parallel to me. Our faces are not so far apart now and our eyes meet for a second. "You know," I say as one of his eyebrows raise a bit, "You don't seem like the type to care about other people".

He sort of rolls his eyes. "I don't care," He says coldly, but still his face inches from mine. I open my eyes a little wider and a smile breaks out onto my face.

"I think you might, even though you don't want to admit it.."

He smiles back a bit and narrows his eyes at me. "what would you know about it anyway, huh?" he says as teasingly as he can without breaking that poker face. I roll my eyes, still smiling at him.

"Sasuke... It's getting late and I don't want you getting caught here," I say quietly, still looking at him.

"I was just about to say the same thing. I'll meet you tomorrow night in the training hall.. Bring everything because you won't be coming back here. " He gets up.

"Yeah, I'll see you then," I say as I sit up too. Sasuke stands up and walks over towards the door. He opens it and says.

"Night. " Coldly. He then gives me one last look, then closes the door behind him. I get up and lock it after him, then lie back down and close my eyes. Before I can stop it, my mind goes into overdrive;

Where was I going to go? What was I going to do? What were these feelings I had for Sasuke? Why was he so nice to me? Did I even want to leave Sasuke? What would I do if Orochimaru came looking for me? Could I really hide forever? Was I in over my head? Should I even be asking myself these questions? I was never good at making decisions...

I lied there a while longer as thoughts ran through my mind at the speed of lightning before I concluded that leaving was my only actual option and that I should get some rest.

I finally felt my thoughts dissipate, and with that, I was fast asleep.

I opened my eyes and looked around me. I could tell that I had been asleep for a while and it was probably about 4 in the afternoon. Tonight was the night that I would be free... This was the last time I was going to wake up in the bed, in this ominous room, in this gloomy hideout.

I stood up slowly and walked over to my mirror and stared myself In the face I looked older than I used to. I brushed my hair and tied it up in a big puffy bun, then summoned my clothes. I picked out my favourite black skinny jeans and white mid sleeve top, then headed for the bathroom. I didn't take too long washing. I was feeling a little nervous and just wanted to get back to my room.

When I got back, I packed all of my scrolls and things away into a backpack that I had acquired from the medical room. I had a feeling that it would come in handy. I checked I had everything I needed and put my backpack aside. I should grab a few packets of noodles before I leave... I do not know how I'm going to eat when I don't have any money.

I walked down to the kitchen and headed to the cupboard. I opened it up and grabbed as much as I could carry, then headed back to pack it in my bag. I didn't see anyone while I was walking back, so I'm fairly sure that it's just Sasuke and me here. I'm assuming Orochimaru and Kabuto left this morning and didn't tell us so we wouldn't get any bright ideas.

I zipped up my bag and put it on my back. I looked into my bedroom one more time 'This was never my home' I thought to myself as I closed the door and trudged down the hallway towards the training room.
