Return to the Homeland

It was time for dinner.

Hendrix said, "Didn't Maverick go to Italy? How about take the children here for diner? Mom has made something delicious."

Everly glanced at the dining room where the servants had probably already prepared dinner. Thinking that the trip was too time-consuming, she said, "Then I'll go back in an hour. I won't take the children with me. It takes too much time. Besides, there are more rumors outside so I'd better drive there myself."

"Take care of yourself," Hendrix didn't insist.

Everly ate a little with the two children, and after settling them down, she drove back to the Farley's.

By the time she arrived, the Farleys had almost finished eating.

Parrish said that he had something to tell Everly. It was obvious that it was a serious matter, for he called Everly into the study.

After closing the door of the study, Parrish spoke, "You should know the reason why I called you back."
