A Personal Hell for A Winged Killer (Draft 1)

This has now become the rough draft of a new novel I intend to submit into the spirity awards of 2023. After a lot of thinking upon the idea, I’ve come to the conclusion that my alterations to the story would be so great that I should start from scratch, and the decision has been very helpful for me, allowing me to take time to look into how my story could be deserving of the eyes of readers like you and allowing me to make myself more proud of my work. A lot of aspects such as characters and powers will remain the same, but the core of the story itself will be crucially altered, adding even more mystery and building upon the world that I’ve been creating over the past 3-4 years much better than I have been. I would like to thank everyone for their support over the time since I typed my first rendition of A Personal Hell for A Winged Killer and I hope that you’ll follow the story again a year from now under a new name(Undecided). My journey as a guy who just writes for fun to someone who’s become dedicated to the story and characters I’ve imagined wouldn’t be the same without you, so once again, I thank you and hope you enjoyed your stay. This story will remain on pause until I decide what to do with it. I was thinking of making this an alternate side story for what I intend to replace it with or to just continue to use it for reference as the new story evolves and learns from its original. An Ominous Rose

Everyone walked through the portal and were instantly transferred to Headmaster's dark world.

Standing there were Dola, Chance, Nifla, Parisa, Miya, Tip, Sarah, Fable and the two who were inside the Lovely Lounge.

A tall woman with black hair that flowed behind her stood behind the mercenaries, two women standing tightly at her hip. She wore a traditional kimono of black, stars littered about its cloth, and the two beside her wore the same red kimono with roses covering its surface. They had tattoos and piercings throughout their body, something that the larger woman lacked.

Dola was also a tall woman, wearing blue police-wear with a badge with many other honors stuck to her breast. Her hair was very smooth and green, running down her back until it nearly reached her legs. Her face was slightly aged, and she carried an air of determination and duty with her. She bore a likeness to Chance, in a way.

Everyone stood at attention before the Headmaster as he reviewed the events that had occurred.

"As you can see, our numbers have been drastically lowered due to the Warbeast assault, leaving us with only 13 people capable of taking on this mission. Since a few of you are not licensed mercenaries, I have other tasks in mind for you."

Miya looked very out of it, and her expression showed that she still didn't completely understand what was going on.

"I apologize, Miss Miya, but I won't be able to train you for today. I also do not feel up to assigning a rookie to this mission, but feel free to examine the announcement I'm about to make."

"Yes sir."

Headmaster seemed to change his mind as Miya was almost falling to the floor. He caught her, laying her at their feet as the room ignored, awaiting his orders.

"Rest, my little chick."

She instantly fell into a sleep state, and her image faded but was still visible. Fable stepped forward, and Headmaster understood, allowing him to take over.

Krewe returned to his initial position, levitating above those in the room.

"The attack on Miss Miya seems to have affected her in some way which I will be examining after my announcement… Without further ado."

Everyone stood straight with exception of Fable and Honey.

"Special Operator #35: Bo!"

"Sir."

"Major Turner 'Tip' Park!"

"Yes sir!"

"Veteran Operator #03: Nifla."

"Yes sir!"

"The situation has changed and has left the city with no way of functioning. I have not notified the Central District Government."

Dola's voice rose, filling the entire space. She followed her words with passionate hand expressions but not without coordination.

"Why withhold that information from the Government?! They could call for your head for willfully withholding information that could spell the end of a major city like Hinansho!"

The headmaster chuckled and carried on.

"I believe you three are capable of carrying out this mission without the aid of the Central government and will henceforth remain assigned to the mission I had given you yesterday. I have information leading me to believe that the attack and this laboratory are connected. There is no need for special preparation, for there is no time to do so. Your time limit is until six a.m, tomorrow morning. This gives us time to act before the Central government catches on to what's happening and gives us the opportunity to continue school afterward. You are dismissed."

...

"Scan."

Fable stood beside the Headmaster as they continued examining her body. Her body lie nigh-transparent, barely visible to those still standing in the room. They looked on intently as well, silently watching as Krewe's head rose, struggling to contain a bleak expression.

"We've got a problem, quite the problem."
