A strange dream

I walk through a city, looking around me. I see people smiling, kids running around without a care in the world, buildings that are not destroyed, and peace, actual peace.

I take a moment to look where I'm walking, noticing that I'm in the middle of the street, I hurry and look for any cars, but there are none.

Continuing to walk down the street, I suddenly notice a person standing in front of me. It has its back turned away from me.

"Excuse me, do you need any help?"

The figure slowly turns its head towards me. When we make eye contact, the first thing I notice, and it's hard not to notice, is the mask that's on its face.

The mask doesn't have a mouth. Instead, strings of metal connect the upper part of the mouth with the lower part. The mask also doesn't have a nose. But the thing that stands out the most, and what makes the mask so eerie, is its blue eyes, It feels like the blue eyes are going right through my body and straight for the soul.

If this thing isn't creepy enough, it's also wearing what looks like a cloak. The cloak goes down to its knees, and it is a very dark shade of black. This thing also has a hood covering its head, making the mask look even more eerie.

We continue to make eye contact until hard drops of rain make me lose eye contact. I look around, slightly curious on why it started raining so hard out of nowhere and why there was no sign of rain. But as curious as I am about the rain, I'm even more interested in this person, that despite the rain continues to look at me.

"You are the chosen one." He says

Its voice is the scariest sound I've ever heard. It's like a very deep, robotic voice. The kinda sound that when you hear it, it makes your soul rattle.

"What do you mean I'm the chosen one? What even are you?"

"I'm human, just like you... And you will learn in due time, about what it means to be the chosen one."

"Disrupt wake up!"

What? where is that sound coming from?

"Disrupt!"

"Remember, Micheal pain is power, and power is control." The mysterious, eerie person disappears.

"Disrupt wake up!"

I jolt up, looking around, I see people huddled around me.

"What... what happened?"

The person looking down on me, who I recognize as Skyhawk answers, "You got hurt real bad, passed out, are you feeling okay?"

"Not really, but I'll live."

"Okay, Eye Spy, Speedrunner, and Self Destructo vs. Dazzle, Mr. Transport, and Deadshot. Everyone else, step to the side."

Everyone walks off, but Shield Barrier and Dark Alley.

"Can you walk?" Ask Shield Barrier.

"Maybe."

I make an attempt to get up, my legs get me halfway up, then give out on me.

"Try again." says Dark Alley

I try again, but this time, he catches my arm, sliding it around his neck. Shield Barrier grabs my other arm, doing the same thing.

"Thank you, guys."

"No problem." They say together.

"So what did we win or lose?"

They both stop walking, forcing me to stop as well. They turn to me smiling.

"we won!"

I smile as well.

It takes us a little more time to get to where we are supposed to be, and as soon as we get there, Skyhawk holds up a gun and fires. POP!

My teammates slowly lift me down into a sitting position. After they sit me down, they join me.

"You should take your mask off. It'll help you get air." Shield Barrier suggests.

"No. Thank you, though."

"You're so weak." Someone says.

I turn my head over to see it's the boy that hit me with the light attacks. He must be shining justice.

"Like seriously the big shot who made the highest grades on everything, and apparently has one of the most dangerous abilities ever seen, and you couldn't take down one of us."

"Actually, I took down two people, if you can even count that high."

"Yeah, but look at you, I basically left you disabled and-"

"Boys! pay attention to the match!" Skyhawk shouts.

I quickly turn my head to see the closest match ever. Mr. Transport and Speedrunner have each others flags, and neither can win without their flag being where it's supposed to be.

I look over a little to see Eye Spy and Dazzel in a stairing competition.

"What are they doing?" I ask.

Dark Alley answers, "Eye Spy has the ability to stop all movement of his opponent, as long as he keeps direct eye contact. Dazzle has the ability to stop all movement of her opponent, as long as they are attracted towards her."

"So they're just stuck their."

"Yes, until someone forces Eye Spy to look away from her, they could stand their for literally the rest of their lives."

"Wow. that's sucks."

"Indeed."

I now look over to see Deadshot, who has a slingshot, and he is firing away rocks at Self Destructo.

"Are these rocks meant to intimidate me!!"

Self Destructo holds his palm out, facing it right at Deadshot. A ball of pure energy starts to form in his palm.

"Take this villain!!"

Immediately after he says this, the ball of energy shoots out like a Cannon. Deadshot tries to run but steps in a crack that I previously made. Deadshot gets hit head-on by the energy cannon, blasting him back, and he doesn't get back up.

Speedrunner zooms right past Eye Spy, lightly smacking him in the face. This, in turn, causes both Eye Spy and Dazzel to come back to reality.

Making sure not to look at Dazzel, Eye Spy looks around assessing their situation.

"What do you think needs to happen for the blue team to win Disrupt?" Skyhawk asks

"I think the best solution is for Eye Spy to use his ability to stop Mr. Transport, so they can take their flag back. Other than that, I have no clue."

There's not much you can do in that situation. you're going up against someone who can teleport. Obviously, he can't control it to its full ability, yet nobody can control their abilities to their full potential, but still its madly annoying to teleport 60 yards at a time.

There is not even an argument for the red team to win, though. They have no attacking members anymore, and Speedrunner is just as annoying as Mr. Transport. Speedrunner can run about the same speed as an average car, so about 120 mph, or at least that's how fast I've seen him go.

"You're right but wrong at the same time." Skyhawk says

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you're right in the sense that they can use that tactic to win, but the simple fact is, this battle is a draw, Eye Spy will never make direct eye contact, Speedrunner is currently avoiding Mr. Transport and Dazzel, and Self Destructo might be able to defeat Dazzel, but he won't catch up with Mr. Transport. Now, I'm aware that in combat, anything can happen. Trust me, I know more than anyone, but some battles are just unwinnable."

"I would have to disagree with you on that, Mrs. Skyhawk."

"Whats you opinion then?"

"I think no fight is unwinnable no matter the odds. Heroes are meant to protect citizens. If I go into a fight going against three villains, you expect me to just run away because I'm at a disadvantage... I would never, ever. Heroes protect no matter the cost or disadvantages they may face."

"That's your problem, Disrupt. During my 10 years of teaching, every student who is exceptional has high beliefs in heroes, believing that no matter what protect the civilians. The simple fact is that's wrong. Our goal is to defeat villains and put them in jail. We do not live in a movie. This is real life. It's you or the villain. Do you understand me? Disrupt.

"No, I don't."

She gives a heavy sigh.

"Teenagers, I swear."

Suddenly, wings pop out of her back. She pushes her feet onto the ground, jumping with extreme force, cracking the ground. She flies into the middle of the arena, and this act immediately stops everything.

"That's enough. This match is a draw. Everyone, that's all the time we have for the day. Team Shield Barrier, Disrupt, and Dark Alley tomorrow. You'll be fighting team Avalanche, Screech, and Tactician. Be ready."
