The White Bear

I've been here long enough and this place is none but a sanctuary.

For as long as I remember, I've been alone and food is all I need.

The river gives me fish, the forest gives me fruit. I take about longer time to sleep until hungry and sleep again when tummy is full. It is such a wonderful life, I suppose. Until I learned what has been missing.

One day, that mountain I somehow dared not to graze has captured my thoughts. I have never been there, nor have try to set foot in attempt to be there, not even in thoughts but until now; what else would I want when all is given in this sanctuary? That day, the wind seemed inviting that I noticed later I was already halfway atop. And I knew, all along, I was never alone.

There's a sweet humming from somewhere. Along with the sound of a waterfall, there is someone, singing. I took a glimpse of what could be ahead and saw a black and white fur. I was... thrilled... and no other than someone like me... but evidently different.

It took until some time until this being left the falls. After which, I wondered... are we of the same? When the moon set high and I was back to my sanctuary, I graze the serenity of my spring. And there, I learned, no... we're not... as the reflection of myself have no black tint. I am purely white. And thus, we are different.

I took interest on what I saw and revisited the mountain the day next and the after. Until learned that every after three setting of the sun, the white and black being is there. So I set myself a schedule of visit since then. I've been watching... I've been taking glimpse... of her.
