A Storm of Emotions
The words rang in my ears, slowing time. When I saw a big flat screen in the lobby, I pulled off the white terry robe, threw on my outfit, and stormed through the spa.
My eyes became glued to the shocking news as my heart raced. It was actual. A hurricane was approaching, not simply a storm. And one of the worst places to be was in the Keys.
Oh no. In the lobby, I paced back and forth. How will I get back home? I can't. My chest was pounding with panic. This is awful. I took out my phone and called Dane once more.
Where are you? As soon as I heard him speak, I questioned him.
He appeared to be moving outside and in the direction of the wind.
"I had to perform some maintenance on something. Livia, this is an emergency," he emphasized.
I snorted. Well, coming out here wasn't my idea.
