3 Starting Anew, Hellish Training
Lucas walked with Issho on the path towards a Marine Base on a shore near the end of the island.
The spacious road was filled with Marines, Soldiers, and Officers. Doing their work for the day, training and jogging with the platoon.
"So this is a Marine base!" Lucas sees the scene smiling like a boy.
Unfortunately, his thoughts were interrupted.
"Young man, come with me!" Issho looks at Lucas while smiling.
Issho brought Lucas to an old looking house surrounded by a large yard and a pond like the training area of Coby and Helemepo under Vice-Admiral Garp when they're young.
"For now young man, you'll live here with me until I'm satisfied ha ha ha, training starts tomorrow! Oh, if you have unfinished business I advise you to take care of it now dismissed" Issho said while laughing.
"Oh find me later and join me to dinner, we will talk about something," said Issho while walking inside the house.
"I'll be going Old man" smiled Lucas then he heard.
"I said don't call me Old man"
"Tsk you look like an Old man so I will call you Old man" Lucas then went back to his house and brought some important stuff. Including his Blunted sword.
As he was about to leave, he heard a voice.
"Brother Lucas you're leaving?" One of the boys said.
"Oh, it's you guys, hahahahaha thank you for everything. Can you relay me a message to the boss? Tell him that I'm quitting" Lucas then told to his brothers.
"Why Brother Lucas don't you want our job anymore?" then said one of his friends.
"Ah! No! No! No! I'm just starting my own journey brothers, no need to be fretting about it. Come here I'll tell you something"
"My brothers, I decided to travel the world!" Lucas said confidently while smiling.
"Isn't it dangerous?" worriedly asked by one of the boys.
"It's ok my brothers it's my decision and my dream. Don't worry about hahaha"
"Wait for me when I come back and tell you my stories, then my brothers, goodbye and take care of yourselves" Lucas then hugged them and bid goodbye.
Even though they were not considered relatives, they were sincere enough to be worried at his well beings. So he considered them his close friends.
"It's ok brother Lucas we will wait" then they left tearily.
"Now, it's my time to shine. Let's start my plan" as Lucas told himself with determination.
Issho's House at Marine Base.
It's already night time. A breeze past by with a cold feeling welcoming him.
"This place is not bad at all" Lucas then went inside looking for Issho.
"Old man, where are you?" Lucas then took advantage of the moment to explore the house.
Issho then appeared out of nowhere.
"Oh yah! Oh yah! Young man, come with me and ate dinner for this night!" Issho then brought Lucas to a Japanese table.
"So young man, what is your plan? I know you don't intend to join the Marines, but I know you want to get stronger. I won't pry to your goals young man nevertheless It won't be easy as you think.
"No problem Old man give me your best shot ha ha ha" then they ate happily and talk about random things.
"So Old man is there any way to travel to East Blue?" Lucas asked while munching like a squirrel.
"Why do you want to travel on the other side of the Grand Line?" Issho shocked by the question.
"I want to start my journey there!" I cannot tell him why though. Off course it's to meet Luffy and the others.
"I see, young man. Hmmmm, there supposed to be a new batch of resources to be brought to the east blue in 6 months. Do you surely want to go there young man?" Issho asked seriously.
"Yes, Thanks Old man" Lucas then thought that Luffy's journey will start less than a year left.
"Seems like the timetable can be reached" as Lucas thought of this Issho then asked.
"Ok then, ha ha ha ha sleep well and the training starts tomorrow" Issho then stood up and left.
"No Problem Old man" Lucas then cleans and finish his chores.
Lucas then look in his room that Issho told him before. What a clean room, though. Lucas went inside and dropped his stuff and organize it the way he wanted to.
"I need to be strong enough to be a member of the crew, at least strong as Luffy and Zorro hahaha I don't want to be humiliated. With this limited time I need to achieve my goal" Lucas then slept like a log from being excited.
The Sun Rises and the Day Began
"Young man wake up. It's time for your training Ha Ha Ha, Hmmmmm where is he?" where is that brat. I'll give him a beating if he tricked me.
"Where is that brat?" Issho then looks outside the house, then saw a young man by the pond practicing swing with his blunted sword.
"Brat what are you doing? Asked Issho.
"Old man just swinging my sword is it time to start?" Issho sweatingly asked.
"Ha ha ha ha good, good, good come let me see your progress" Issho then observed Lucas movements.
"Hmmmm, seems like you are a total amateur with your sword, but I see your determination let me correct your posture.
"You need to control your body, you need to hone your senses to some extent. If you insist to train your sword you need a proper master, later I'll bringing a warrior. Now every day you need to ran 15 km, then do a set of exercise that focuses on your body, and after that you'll fight until late at night with a swordsman. Don't cry on me young man later on, you brought this to yourself Ha ha ha ha ha" Issho the walk away laughing.
Lucas then resume his training excitingly.
Later in the afternoon.
"Young man, I bought a Samurai from Wano Country. Don't ask questions he will just teach you, if you want to be a great swordsman you need to learn your own swordplay. That's how people will know you and I forgot every weekend I'll brought soldiers in the base to spar with you".
"Young man, you better not disappoint me, now start practicing with your teacher and let's eat later" Issho then left again.
"Hahaha, don't worry old man, seems like he cares for me. Great this is the best environment to boost my potential" Lucas then look his teacher.
"Sensei, I'm Lucas, I hope you teach me and help me be strong" Lucas then bowed to his unknown teacher.
"Brat, I don't care about your wellbeing, so I won't hold back" said by the samurai then thought of something.
"
That Old man when I said I owe him a favor. I didn't expect to teach a kid, well, let's just finish this".
"Brat raise your sword and show me what you can do, don't hold back or you'll get hurt, I don't like to see crybabies" the Unknown teacher then raise his wooden sword.
"Seems like I met a crabby and strict teacher, nonetheless, this doesn't hinder my progress" Lucas thought then raised his sword as fast as he could and ran, he slashes, chop, and stab with all his strength.
Even though all of his attacks are being blocked he still muster up his courage and continue his attacks. The samurai parried his attacked then kicked his gut that throwed Lucas several meters away.
"Starting today, you need to think what kind of swordplay you'll practice, if you can't even finish this, don't consider yourself that I taught you" this boy, even though his sword attacks are crappy. He learns faster than I expected.
"Hmph, let's see boy where can you reach with your determination and enthusiasm".
The samurai then raises his hand and taunt Lucas. As if he is challenging his well being. Lucas roared and ran again, fighting and falling over and over again.
The training didn't stop until the dead of the night.
Dinner with Issho late at night.
"So Young man, how do you feel? Feel like giving up yet? Ha Ha Ha, eat, eat, eat, you need to eat for a stronger body" Issho said while laughing.
"Hmph Old man I didn't even sweat Hahahaha" said Lucas even though his body is aching so much. Lucas even thought that this is a blessing as if this is always what he wanted.
"Crazy young man stop calling me Old man, I'm still your main teacher. Don't you even respect me? Hmmmmm, ok young man I'll teach you something, it's what we call haki. Let's see if you don't respect me" Issho said harrumphly.
"I'll call you Old man because you look like an Old man Hmph, I'll call you Old Man Issho for now" deep inside he is laughing I might learn Haki even if I can master it.
"Do I really look like an Old man?" Issho thought of what Lucas said.
"Let's talk tomorrow about Haki, rest for now" Issho then left.
Lucas then cleaned up and finish his chores. When he arrived at his room he thought of what he learned from today's experience.
"I need my own swordplay" Lucas then fall asleep while thinking what kind of swordplay he should have.
