A Noble Goal

Everyone has some kind of goal they deem noble. But does everyone see it the same way? To achieve your goal, what are you willing to do? Sacrifice your life? Or the lives of others? Would you do anything to achieve it? Going as far as to start a war? For this Noble goal, how much are you willing to offer? _____ “Chosen ones? That’s a fancy title, but in the end. It’s just a title.” A long time ago, innovation and creation ruled the world. Technology was everywhere, robots and holograms were the norm. However, creatures seen as demons and angels invaded. Human technology is unable to keep up with the supernatural. From manipulating elements to summoning weapons, they slowly lost to the invaders. However, all hope was not lost when humans themselves started to manifest such said powers. Even if it's weaker, they have technology to help them. Right? "Now now, why should I bow to others when I can make others bow before me!" Slowly, the divided human race started to show more cracks. Humans with different mindsets split, all having their own goal in mind, with new powers to back them up. Threats everywhere, but the solution for them doesn't seem to increase any time soon. "I don't want to live so divided anymore! Not only between humans, but the world as a whole." Such a bold idea was spoken after countless years, receiving little to no approval. However, that didn't discourage the brave soul. Causing him to keep finding like minded people. A demon heard of his action, and was fascinated by such a noble yet foolish mindset. "Human, your lifespan is limited. Leave it to the next generation, I shall help you search for those with such a mindset." Without thinking much, he agreed to pass on this Noble Mission to the future generation. Unaware of the demon scheme. ———————————— Chapter will be published every weekday 9 o clock GMT +8 , let me sleep in peace thank you. Save it to library to get notifications when I upload. Chosen Ones

"The blood moon." A young boy spoke, sitting on the edge of a building, his legs hanging out. He's wearing a dark grey cloak that's bigger than him, there's a few big holes on the back of it.

The wind was blowing strongly against him, making his light grey hair flutter with it, along with a torn part of the hood.

"Hm?" His vision turned blurry, "That isn't something you see everyday." He muttered while slowly moving away from the edge, he slowly stood up.

A thick fog covered him like the clouds, he looked around and saw four shadowy figures.

Two of them looked clearer compared to the other two.

'A dream.' She noticed, realising she was no longer at the lake. Looking around, she also saw one figure less foggy compared to the other three.

The fog slowly cleared away, and he opened his eyes again. Feeling the wind blowing him, he looked up at the moon that no longer looked so red.

'Don't tell me.' He chuckled, before bursting into fits of laughter, "This curse world." He collapsed on his back.

Reginald opened his eyes, holding his head, "What happened?" He muttered, he can't remember much, just that he was in a foggy world.

However, in that same foggy world, he felt what he was missing was there. His left hand slowly moved from his head to his chest, feeling his heartbeats fast.

He lay back on his back, his left hand still on his chest. Looking at the ceiling, he had a blank look on his face.

After a while, he started to chuckle, before bursting out in laughter.

Soil flew up, as she kept hitting it. "What a joke!" She sat up, the little light from a nearby town's flame showed a woman with long dark grey sitting by a lake. She grabbed a little soil and tossed it in the water, "Damn, what should I do now?"

Thick smoke covered the air, when a loud cough echoed in an office, as a figure put out the cigarette butt with the finger, "I fell asleep?" Leaning against the chair, strings of white hair mix among the grey hair could be seen from the back. The cigarette was thrown into the figure's mouth, and the person chewed it like candy, "Hm."

"Pretty sure the kid is dead." A rough man said, "No movements for ten minutes." The man was about to stomp on the kid's face, where a pair of blue-grey eyes opened.

Seeing the foot coming, they rolled to the side, using the momentum to stand up.

'How did I just fell unconscious?' Their gaze went up, 'It's still early in the morning, I'm sure I had enough sleep.' Their gaze went back to the enemy who was trying to pull out his feet from the soil, 'Wait, wasn't there a moon just now?' They wanted to look up again, but quickly dodged the enemy attack, "Tch. Annoying."
