More secrets

Vishwaprit was on the way back to his house. He was in deep thoughts. They had to gather their belongings to leave for the city within two days. And they had to prepare themselves to face whatever comes with the mist.

Bhishu looked at his lord and asked with great concern.

"Maharaj, do you believe in all those things we read?"

"If we don't believe in those books, there is nothing to believe in right now." Vishwaprit answered.

"Then aren't we going to look for such secret notebooks of late Maharaj? If Setupati's father kept such secret notebooks, then our Maharaj should have asked him to do it. So he would have known about this matter and would have kept our own family secrets hidden somewhere." Bhishu asked smartly.

"...." Vishwaprit couldn't answer Bhishu. Instead he fell into deep thoughts.

'Would his father knew about all of this? Did he has any secrets?

"I think we should look for it."

Bhishu declared by himself.

"....." Vishwaprit still didn't speak a word. He looked at Bhishu in a serious mood.

"We should look into his belongings. We have saved them for last 23 years. I am sure we'll find something in there." Bhishu explained his next actions.

"Is it okay, Maharaj?" He asked for Vishwaprit's permission.

"Hmm." Vishwaprit answered while thinking about something else he remembered about the matter.

"And where are my mother's belongings?" Vishwaprit asked curiously.

"They're somewhere in the inventory. Late Maharaj had kept it there for safeguard." Bhishu said.

"I am going to find them. You look for father's belongings. I will join you later." Vishwaprit announced his plans and got out of the car in a hurry.

He entered the inventory and found the location of mother's belongings from the journal. He in a room which was never opened for last 26 years and came out with a box in his hands. He put it on the table and opened it.

There were a lot familiar and unfamiliar things in the box. The familiar were mostly his father's gifts mother received, he guessed. And unfamiliar things, he didn't really understand what those things were. There were some books in the box. He opened them and tried to read them. But he couldn't. They were written in some strange language. He kept the books aside to bring them with him and kept searching. Finally, he got tired of looking and sat on the chair with wasted mind.

He stayed in that state for few minutes, he gathered himself back and left the inventory with the box in his hands.

Raghav was waiting for the afternoon anxiously. He wanted to witness the prisoners with his own eyes. He hadn't get to interogate them that night as 'Kalsgrunga'. Now he was going to find answers as 'Ragahv'.

Finally after spending 4 hours here and there, he saw his mentor entering the office. He rushed to him,

"What's the news, Sir?" Raghav asked.

"Nothing happens in such meetings. They just asked us to solve the matter as soon as possible, as if it is that simple!" Ganesh answered with frustration.

"Did we get specific direction to lead the case, or we can proceed as we wish?" Raghav asked thoughtfully but anxiously.

"You're quite smart for a newly joined police officer. That's good. We're going to need it." Ganesh was surprised by Raghav's smartness and he openly praised him. But Raghav didn't want to hear his praise, he wanted a lead in the case. He was getting anxious. Still he smiled after hearing praising words from his mentor.

Ganesh continued speaking,

"Did you noted down the possible questions to ask them? And they should be different from the last ones."

"Yes sir. These are the questions." Raghav handed over the list of questions he wrote on a paper.

"They have played us with all our regular questions. I want answers, which will lead us somewhere. These fu**** have made us fools for days now." Ganesh was determined today to find answers. And he looked clearly frustrated.

Ganesh looked at the questions and gave satisfied expressions. They discussed about the questions for few minutes and headed towards 'the cell'.

It's been more than a week, but the spirit of prisoners was still intact, as if some invisible entity was protecting them. Police had given them hell, and some of them were injured, but still they were standing tall. How? Ganesh's mind was getting anxious to know the answers.

The constable opened the cell with fear. His simple mind was full of superstitions & he was oftenly caught chanting some mantras to keep away the evil. Ganesh thought it was all nonsense. But still, something was fishy about those prisoners.

They entered the cell and looked at them. The prisoners looked back at them with strong glare. As if they were challenging them.

Raghav was looking at them first time after beating and handing them over to the police. They had gotten physically a little weak, but their spirits were still high. Raghav unknowingly appreciated them. The opponents were strong. Ganesh and Raghav had to play their best game today.

The constable gathered the prisoners. Ganesh looked at them and spoke with frustration,

"Friends, let's not drag this, ok? You know I will get what I want, by hook or crook. So better, you tell us first. So that you can save us the time and effort."

One of the prisoners replied,

"You have asked us thousand times, and we have answered you thousand times, that we have no authority to share anything. We just have a single mission after getting out of hear. We're going to find that hooded basta** who got us here. And we're going to finish him."

Raghav's ear picked the prisoner's frustration. It gave him chills, but he kept his calm. After all, he was pro in acting and pretending.

Ganesh looked at that prisoner with disappoinment. And spoke intensely,

"But you're going to tell me everything today. I have made sure of that."

A ray of fear gathered on the prisoner's face and he looked at his comrades.

Even Raghav felt the intensity of Ganesh's words.

Ganesh looked at the constable accompanying him, and nodded his head, giving him some hints. The constable understood the mark, nodded back and walked out of the cell. Ganesh, then, looked back at the prisoner and asked,

"So, who wants to go first?" He was clearly trying to intimidate them.

The prisoners were getting furious and losing their calm. Ganesh successfully managed to make them anxious. They had sensed that something was going seriously wrong. The fear was getting to them. They looked confused. Raghav was looking at Ganesh, who was busy in disturbing his prisoner's minds. He was good at it.

Raghav saw the constable coming back towards them. And somebody was accompanying him. Raghav's eyes got widened.

"You have a special guest my friends. My friend, Shastriji. He believes that he can help me to get answers from you. Don't you want to welcome him?" Ganesh announced the arrival of Shastriji.

The constable stood aside, giving full view of Shastriji, wearing all saffron coloured attire. His aura was too powerful and he was looking at the prisoners without blinking.

The prisoners looked at Shastriji and looked back at Ganesh. The arrogant expressions from their eyes turned into fear, accompanying with disbelief.

Ganesh looked at them with satisfied eyes and asked Shastriji,

"Shall we start, Shastriji?"

Shastriji didn't reply. He kept staring at them. And then he suddenly closed his eyes.

Raghav was also looking at Shastriji, with surprise.

"Ganesh" Shastriji spoke a word slowly looking at Ganesh.

"These kids are not from this world. They're in the wrong realm. They are scared of me, but they're too much powerful. If we need answers, we need to squeeze out of them."

Ganesh didn't believe a single word, Shastriji said, but he had decided to go along. Shastriji was too powerful and sacred person. He was famous for being rude and arrogant at the times. So, Ganesh had decided not to provoke him in a wrong way. He just wanted Shastriji to intimidate these guys to give some answers.

Raghav was observing Shastriji closely. He looked like a fanatic, but still very powerful. He also wanted to uncover the truth, even if they had to devote a ceremony to the god.

"Son" Shastriji asked the constable to hand over his bag. He grabbed some sacred powder, and threw it in the air towards the prisoners.

The prisoner's eyes got widened as they started to realize their fate. They looked at each other and started to uttering some unfamiliar words.

Shastriji recognized the prisoner's words and screamed loudly, "Stop you indescent worms! Stop chanting his name! He is not welcome here. I, Shastri Shripad, command you to stop this moment." And he threw some more powder in the air. Then he took a tiny tin from his bag, inserted his fingers into it and applied some paste on a forehead of one of the prisoners. The room suddenly got filled with the aroma of chandan. The prisoner stopped moving immediately. His eyes locked into Shastriji's eyes!

Ganesh and Raghav were awed. The overwhelming happenings in front of them, stunned them.

Shastriji now took more of the chandan paste, and applied on the foreheads of all the prisoners, while chanting some sanskrit words. All the prisoners started looking at Shastriji like a puppet.

Shastriji looked pleased with his work. He looked at Ganesh and said,

"Son, we can start asking your questions now. But before you start, I want to ask them some of 'my' questions. My curiosity level has also reached the threshold."

"Of course!" Ganesh replied respectfully.

Shastriji looked at the prisoners for few seconds, as if he was admiring his own work. And he asked,

"You, the one who have crossed world's reality and have entered our realm, I demand you to reveal your identity." His strong voice filled the room with echo.

The prisoners kept looking at Shastriji without any movement.

Shastriji felt the anger inside because of their disobedience. But suddenly, one of the prisoners started talking.

Everybody focused on him to understand what he was speaking. After listening closely, Raghav understood his words. He had heard the same words from the prisoner inside his house.

"He is coming back. He is coming back."

He kept repeating his sentence.

"Answer me clearly. Why are you here? What are you planning to achieve?", Shastriji screamed at him loudly.

"We have to be prepared. We have to gather the energy. We're assigned to complete this task. We're giving him enough energy, so that he can travel. Once, he is powerful enough, nobody can stop him. Not even you." He spoke with spirituality.

"What is he talking about?" Ganesh asked, he couldn't help himself. He was struggling to understand what was going on.

"Son, there are some things in this world, which are the best to keep unknown. It brings nothing, but chaos. The lord, he is speaking about, is one of them. He is not from this world. But he isn't unknown to this world either.

Nearly 300 years ago, he had crossed the barrier between the worlds, and had entered into our world. It was dealt with and was thrown away. But now it has returned, to claim this world again.

As it is mentioned in the history, it had created a massive chaos in the world, back at that time. Millions of people were dead. It had poisoned them, and turned them against humanity. But after all odds, our ancestors won, and banished him from this world."

"Then why has he returned?" Ganesh asked anxiously.

"To claim the Earth again." Shastriji's words drummed Ganesh's ears. Raghav was speechless. All the facts about evil realm and the evil lord, froze his mind.

Shastriji continued, "Like every powerful entity, he wants to expand his territory. He wants to claim everything. We don't have enough knowledge about his nature. And these creatures are just puppets. They won't exactly have any of useful answers."

"Can they tell us about their lord's next move?" Raghav asked thoughtfully.

"We can try asking." Shastriji replied with serious voice and he turned towards the prisoners.

"Then why don't you enlighten us about your lord's next move?" He asked.

The prisoner didn't respond for a second, he tried to fight back and tried to be free from Shastriji's influence, but couldn't. He surrendered and started speaking with a smile,

"He is traveling towards the city. He can arrive anyday now. You better get ready to fight, instead of wasting time here with us. There are thousands of others like us. You can never stand a chance against him. You all are gonna die if you refuse to follow him."

"We have protected this world for thousands of years before, and we will continue to do it so, no matter who is the enemy!" Shastriji roared like a lion. He got so furious that the air around him started to get warmer. He immediately gathered himself back and threw some powerful powder towards the prisoners. The prisoners fell unconscious.

Ganesh looked at Shastriji with disbelief and asked screaming, "What did he mean? Did he just say that the enemy is going come into our city? The enemy who massacred millions, the last time he visited our world."

"Yes, that's exactly what he said." Shastriji replied intensely.

"Then how are we planning to stop him?" Raghav interrupted them.

"The word is already spread. The spiritual protectors are on their way. Hope, they reach in time." Shastriji assured Raghav to stay calm.

"Will we able to fight them?" Raghav was still unconvinced about all this.

"We have to try our best. May god bless us". Shastriji replied honestly.

"And what about the ancestors who fought them last time. Who were they? Is anybody left of their kin? Can they help us?" Raghav was still asking questions.

"The king of 'Vijayprath' had faught the enemy last time. 'Vishwaprit', their only surviving blood heir, may be able to help us. You can get in touch with him." Shastriji shared the history of  Vijayprath briefly.

"Vishwaprit?"

"Vishwaprit?"

Ganesh and Raghav, both repeated his name. A ray of hope touched their stressed mind.
